Gasmask general

Who thought it was a good idea to make the straps on this mask out of fucking fabric instead of rubber? Where they supposed to be disposed and replaced after evertime the mask was used in a contaminated environment?
Also gasmask general.

No you clean them, also the headstraps use fabric with rubber strips that run up and down them.

Been using these kind of head harnesses since WW1, they work fine.

>Where they supposed to be disposed and replaced after evertime the mask was used in a contaminated environment?
Gee, user
you would think if the harness would be at risk of contamination of agents that harm you via skin contact, you'd THINK that one would just wear a chemical hood over their mask.

>Where they supposed to be disposed and replaced after evertime the mask was used in a contaminated environment?
In the army, we were taught that after an exposure to NBC shit, ALL our gear would be collected, burned away, and replaced with brand new stuff. So...yes?

Bump

post your gear

Whats up with the filter?

What do you mean? There is nothing wrong with any of the two.

does anybody have a M2000?

It's currently packed in a box after moving.

Not really a mask, but somewhat cbrn related (as it is chemical protective), bu yesterday, I scored this gently used Gates Pro-AM 1050 Vulcanized Rubber Commercial Drysuit for a pretty decent price for what they normally go for.
Overally, it's in amazing shape, with the only flaws being a poorly-replaced wrist seal and a patch on the front midsection of the suit. Aside from that, it's fine. It's a bit big on me (I'm 6'2" and this thing is several inches taller than me lmao), but this isn't a problem as it gives me plenty of slack to move around.
Still need to get a quick-disconnect hose for the power inflator valve and a Drager hood since the commercial hood I have doesn't work with my Drager neck ring.

Can someone give me suggestions on adjusting the harness on a drager m65? The buckles won't budge and I'm afraid of tearing the straps of I force them

kinky.

For me at least, they got easier to adjust over time with some usage. Adjust the straps first before donning the mask, that makes it a lot easier. If you are still struggling and concerned with damaging them, manipulate them with your fingers, putting pressure on one side while gently pulling through the other side.

So I bought my first gasmask, an American M9 with a filter for 25 yurobux, but I can't find any consistent info online on whether the filter contains asbestos or not.

Can any of you anons tell me if it has asbestos or not?

Pic related is the filter that came with the mask. The other side reads "272.5 GRAMS"

Dont bother with milsurp shit and buy a new filter off ebay.

>gently used
I wonder what the gentleman may mean by this
( O^O)

Why'd you buy an M9, over something newer and better?

I saw it on a shelf in a small milsurp store and it was only 25 euros, plus I really wanted a gasmask.

It looks cool too IMO.

I have been told the filter does contain asbestos, but whether it does or doesn't won't matter. Those filters are so damn old it would be hazardous to breath through, asbestos or not. Just get a 60mm to 40mm adapter and you can use modern filters on it.

>Tfw you're a poorfag who can't afford a ballistic helmet so you use the autistic skate hat your aunt bought you with a skateboard last year, but after never learning to skate you can breathe a sigh of relief because you finally found a use for it.

I like it. A balistic helmet would be way overkill for what im doing. I bought this one at a sporting goods store für under 20 bucks. I might upgrade to a Protec in the future.

*unusual
fuck it
eiTHER ONE
also goddamn autorotate

the filter of the M2000 can be tilted left or right, depending on your hand/shoulder to use your rifle, and its one of the best masks on the planet

it has a very strong chemical smell

i use silicon grease on my masks, makes everything way smoother

This. Why would you keep anything exposed to an NBC attack?
