So federal number 1 buck is the best shot load for a shotgun. But what is the best slug? Can be 2 3/4" or 3". I need it for defense against skin walkers as I do not own a .45-70

(speaking of which, how is a springfield trap door against skin walkers? Or a Martini Henry?)

Walkers are fast. Single shot is a death wish

>Martini Henry?
If it can take down a kaffir, it can take down a skinwalker

>Black Magic

All you need right there. It even says Magic on it.

Yeah, White Ash is the go-to medicine for Skinbabies, but you're gonna wanna fight weird with weird, and Hoodoo ain't about logic or reason. It's about what you believe.

Just like Orkz, if you believe hard enough that that pitch-black 1 3/8oz chunk of Hardened Dickpunch rolling 1600fps out of the muzzle is going to split a fuckin creepycrawly in goddamn half, then its just what the witchdoctor ordered.

Shoot that fucker twice, and tell him that the last one was for Howlin Jim.
He'll know.

Im gonna print this out, its going somewhere. Not sure where but definetly somewhere.

>federal #1 buck
No my friend. It’s federal 00 with the LEO flight control wad. Also if you bring the martini, dip the bayonet in white ash from a white ash tree.

That same load in #1 will still have sufficient penetration (over 12" in gel) or likely pass through a torso while having more potential wounding area. #1 is the best balance of pellet count and penetration. It's just hard to find with the flight control wad.

So 00 flight control usually the easiest "best" load to find and it's splitting hairs in terms of effectiveness. Dead is still dead

Get lightfield IDS hollowpoint slugs

600 grains going 1900 fps = ~5000 foot lbs of energy

I've been using 00 buck to destroy feral hogs. Would #1 be better?

Make pic related but with buck shot

00 Buck has generally inefficient stacking in 12 gauge, it's less than optimal but still works.

As for slugs, I recommend sabot style for rifled shotguns but rifled foster slugs for smooth bore.
Federal Truball Rifled Slugs are pretty good, the 3' shells especially are very stout. Remington Slugger and Winchester Super-X are great slugs too. I personally prefer 1oz weight.

>not using 3 1/2" #1 buck with literally 27 pellets
If you're going to do buckshot then at least do it right.

I can't fucking find factory #1 anywhere.

is for:

RIP Howlin' jim

never a big fan of winchester shotsells.

It's more optimized insofar as shot diameter and how well it fits/stacks in a 12ga hull. More lead for volume.

You might have trouble getting adequate penetration if you use lighter shot on hogs.

>inefficient stacking in 12 gauge

>Stacks in 3x3 instead of random pile
>Most consistent pattern in a 12 gauge

like sniders and their rifle musket minie predecessors, utterly devastation.

>Walkers are fast. Single shot is a death wish

see pic related. 480 grains of lead that will produce remarkable splattering at range or perhaps a 00 loading instead (snider)?

That's a 12 and a 20 gauge slug at the same time. What's the muzzle velocity?

5 shot average was just over 1400. My handloads with 2oz cast slugs clock in at 1200, not fast but they hit like a pickup truck.

I'm looking for fun slugs to shoot out of my supernova. Walmart has 3 inch and 2.75 inch hollow point slugs but they're pretty pricey. Any recommendations? I also really want to shoot a few 3.5 inchers out of it.

slugs are pricey.

Buy brass shells and reload/cast your own slugs. Shotgun shells are the easiest thing in the world to reload.
