Cold War Era InfraRed optics

I'm trying to produce a video concerning the evolution and production of InfraRed optics from WW2 and through the cold war, and I need some help.
Does anybody have any good sources or information about InfraRed optics, especially from Germany(concerning the Zielgerat), the Soviet Union, and Korean war and Vietnam war era US. I am looking for information about their production numbers, how they work, how they are operated, and their effectiveness on the battlefield. It's a very obscure topic and hard to find research on. The only information I could even find on the Zielgerat's effectiveness was a post WW2 BIOS document that I had to find through some forum post made years ago on some obscure military history site. Any help would be appreciated.

Also, general NV optic thread.

also if you have a pretty voice I'll need help narrating the script.

If you can help, send an email to [email protected]
