>AK Buyer's Guide

pastebin.com/YdEkhdva

Let's get this shit-show started.

Bulgarian?

Yes. Sam7UF.

>SAM7K
I was thinking about one of those or a SAM5. Is the folding stock you have a special trunnion or will it fit a standard milled receiver like on a SAM5?

The SAM7s come with that special fucked up trunnion to get it to fold right, so no you can't add it to another rifle.

If you want a folder added to a Milled receiver, it's best to call Marxmen Precision in Las Vegas as they are experienced in adding folding trunnions to milled receivers. Especially Sam7k models.

Attached: vityaz.jpg (640x640, 76K)

Damn. That makes getting a SAM7K less appealing.

Are Veprs good to go?
I am asking about an original one unconverted and chambered in 7.62x39

Why the fuck are slr 107s so god damned expensive right now? Am I better off looking for a wasr at a cheaper price?

Attached: 1529897531483.jpg (500x428, 146K)

Attached: JPEG_20180624_235650.jpg (4160x2340, 2.4M)

Mine has worked 100 percent, though I recommended having a gunsmith work on the mag catch and installing in the bullet guide for you

Attached: 20180621_114817.jpg (4160x2340, 3.46M)

They're great rifles, but they have a few quirks. Firstly, they're heavier than normal AKs since they have a 1.5mm thick receiver. They also do not accept standard AK furniture, such as handguards and stocks. Additionally, since it's in its imported sporting configuration, work needs to be done to the magwell along with the installation of a bullet guide to use regular AK magazines, and the barrel needs to be threaded to take muzzle devices. All that said, they're some of the highest quality AKs to be imported into the US and are good to go.
Yes.

Attached: 1nSOR.jpg (800x520, 32K)

Not an AK, but M44-chan is nice QT and light, though it recoils way more than a 91/30 and you feel that sucker in your shoulder for days
The Muzzle is already threaded, it just has a pinned muzzle nut on the front

Attached: Screenshot_2018-06-25-21-51-59.png (1500x903, 2.43M)

I will make sure to have that done. i'd love to use regular mags in it when i get mine.
as i saw some video on how to take the muzzle pin out and i already have a dremel tool.
Also i don't mind the extra weight and I love the way that the wood furniture looks. it's sleek and sexy like the frame on a Beretta 92FS and like a woman wearing a long dress that shows her volumptuos hip to waist ratio and the top leaves the beginning of the top of her breasts exposed to let the mind wonder how big they are under the dress.

Am I better off getting Zastava BHO mags or Hungarian mags? I don't really care about BHO feature.

Attached: Hungarian mag.jpg (847x321, 60K)

>I love the way that the wood furniture looks
I honestly agree with that. While I'd prefer standard AK furniture, there is something to be said about the stock VEPR wood and the way it looks.
It sounds like you're pretty sold on the rifle, so have fun when you get it user.

Attached: 1498942665592.jpg (4032x3024, 3.23M)

Then whatever's cheaper, they're roughly the same quality. I love Hungarian tankers, too aesthetic

Attached: 20180526_072525.jpg (2560x1440, 1.59M)

Thanks :^) i hope you enjoy shooting what you have too.

Hungarian. The "Zastava" mags are, unless noted as "Yugo" or "Surplus", new production mags. Look at the reviews of Croatian mags to see the issues that come with them.

If only these 54r ones used svd mags...

All 6 of my Croats are sturdy son of a bitches and I've had 0 problems with them

Someone has to be still be making AG4s, right?
Please say yes, I wanna dream

Attached: Capture(1).jpg (550x282, 23K)

Nope. And it's AG-S4
>Soviet AK "bakelite" magazines. These rust-colored steel-reinforced 7.62×39mm magazines weigh .24 kg (0.53 lb) empty and are often mistakenly identified as being made of Bakelite (a phenolic resin), but were actually fabricated from two-parts of AG-S4 molding compound (a glass-reinforced phenol-formaldehyde binder impregnated composite), assembled using an epoxy resin adhesive

Attached: 1425029769565.jpg (490x271, 49K)

Chink 20s are more aesthetic.

Attached: 1519830339403.jpg (750x833, 114K)

Got her for 580$

Attached: IMG_20180625_175905~01.jpg (3396x1980, 1.68M)

>it's AGS4
But google.com/amp/s/www.thefirearmblog.com/blog/2016/09/18/guest-post-brief-history-kalashnikov-magazine-part-2-synthetic-magazines/amp/

From that link...
>From what it appears, the last AG-S4 produced by Tula was a flat back Cyrillic mold number. The ridge was eliminated from their design, just like the Izhmash flat backs, and these feature a B as a suffix on the mold number.

Attached: 13534499_1738076426404133_1766094625_n.jpg (320x320, 34K)

They flip flop between the two, so obviously not a good article
Just search on Google "bakelite ags4" and you'll get way more results than "bakelite ag4s". Something about it being an AGS compound

Neato I got one of those, it actually came with this early long neck version. Always wondered what the B meant

Attached: 20180626_070423.jpg (1440x1866, 1.93M)

Mishaco has a new video about the legion AKM builds, give it a watch and see what he says then go from there.

Also does anyone here have the zenitco b-19N upper handguard? Want to know if it will block my iron sights if I mount a light mount on it. Light will be positioned off the left side. Cought find any pics of what I was specifically looking for on Google. Thanks in advance.

>If only these 54r ones used svd mags...
Any double stack mag will do, that single stack only magwell is a deal breaker for me. Not only do you have low capacity, but single stack mags are LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOONG.
Someone modded one to use PSL mags and the gun blew up, it wasn't structurally strong enough with the magwell opened up.

I would change that stock desu

>stock

It won’t block your irons

As long as the part of the light mount that's on the rail is fairly low profile it won't block your sights.

Whatever nerd

that's a sig brace
welcome to bullshit NFA laws

>Tax stamp

Good idea?

>side rail
>underfolder trunnion
I don't think they are counting on many people actually putting a folding stock on the thing.

>Remove side rail

They out of business. Lol

Cheaper to remove side rail from this or replace draco/m92 rear trunnion?

Can't wait to update this pic

Attached: 20180502_152408.jpg (1374x1652, 1.88M)

Much obliged friends.

Attached: IMG_20180626_110749.jpg (5344x2431, 3.91M)

Different user, would it be possible to remove a bit of material from the stock arm to clear the rail? Or would it weaken the stock too much? I can just mount an optic a different way, don't want to bother removing side rail.

Nice Enfield. I want to get one myself, but don't know what to look for really so nervous about buying one.

Just to make sure, you know you need a B10 handguard to mount a B19N, right?
There's a guy on the files that sells custom made AKMNS left arms to work with side rails. I think he's on akfiles at least.

Attached: post-4-1169848240.jpg (390x345, 22K)

I would get a black one and then match the rest of the furniture to that.

I'd get a black SOB-47 and wrap it with a tourniquet and bandage

Not a bad idea.

These 'pistols' make wonderful carbines.

The answers I got when I asked /akg/ a month ago were between
>yes
and
>the ATF doesn't care

am I a nigger /akg?

Attached: ancientassoak.jpg (4608x3456, 2.41M)

The only way to make something like pic related look better is to wrap a tourniquet

Are we at the point that we can seriously slap on recoil pads onto braces and the ATF just shrugs?

Just got my first bakes, can anyone tell me what these stamps mean?
On the left it says PB the right it says OTK 10

Attached: IMG_20180626_102934017.jpg (1200x1600, 366K)

Well not like anything would happen if they did care, but I thought modifying the brace in any way, even removing the strap or putting something inside the arm part would make it a "stock"

>ultimak
Yup

Attached: 20180625_142610~2.jpg (2845x2318, 3.58M)

also whats the significance of the number on the bottom of the mag opposite from the factory marking? the above one says 3 but this one says 40. Also any tips on restoring em?

Attached: IMG_20180626_102953883.jpg (1200x1600, 373K)

I might take it off for pictures I'm posting, but that's about it

>On the left it says PB the right it says OTK 10
Peanut Butter and One Turn Kill x10

well at this point I've cooked my fakepoint to the point of unreliability so its all plumsex for now :[
>life without optics

I made a 400m shot with that sar1 and irons. They work gud enuff.

Attached: 20180625_133340~2.jpg (2708x2669, 2.3M)

that doesn't sound right but i don't know enough about bakelite to disprove it

get with the times your 30 year old boomer shit is tiresome

-Battle Rifle Company

No. How bout you lift more.

Nothing shoot better than maritime blue rifles. Also pirate lowers are scary.

Argh m8e

Go for it man, 10/10 would recommend. The Enfield action is so nice

I've found my groups with the red dot are much better at 25 yards... although i'm a shitty shot anyways

this is done standing 10 shots fast
>post your groups bois
>Jow Forumsriticism helps /b/ros

this was done at rest
5 shots slow
>123 gr Monarch
pls halp

Attached: IMG_2515.jpg (4608x3456, 3.03M)

looks like you should just shoot fast standing

Had century worked out the kinks of what made early wasr's unreliable (canted has block/sight, loose mag wells, etc) by 2008? I have the chance to pick up an '08 wasr with 5 mags (3 of which are surplus) for $500

Most likely it's fine but give it a good look-over anyway.

I bought mine in '07 and it's fine. I'm guessing you can't check it out in person? It's possible it has those issues.

Attached: WASR with dong and wire folder.jpg (1224x1632, 731K)

what kind of limitations is the pastebin talking about when it comes to the SAM7 and its customization? I was looking at the 107 but unfortunately I live in a no stamped steel household

Attached: 16389B8C-01D6-488B-A772-F11ACC38E15F.jpg (960x960, 95K)

What's the best way to remove real deep oils from your rifle?
I had some droplets constantly squeeze out the trunnion and rivets while I was trying to paint and ruined the finish so after I stripped it I took a heat gun then torch to the receiver until no more leaked out. Is this autistic?

>I live in a no stamped steel household
wut?

dont buy from jewlantic.

Why not?
>Nobody else sells it

whys that

Bath of MEK?

>Because arbitary reasons.
Theyre fine

Check out my kickass Beryl.

What range?
Rifle is fine. Inspect in person though.
Not many people make aftermarket for milled receivers and OG furniture is maybe more expensive. Idk I haven't shopped for milled furniture in a while. The SF model also has a unique rear trunnion so you're stuck with that stock if you get that one.

No, it's necessary preparation for a decent painted finish.

25ft

I meant is how I did it dumb, I realize it's essential. Shit really fucks up paint

Will look into

Ignore the stock, need a Russian triangular one to go along with it.

Attached: 20180626_224101.jpg (4032x1411, 2.87M)

Please don't put one of those ugly ass bonesteel fake triangle folders on it, just stick with wood.

>Chris Bonesteel is a lazy nigger

Are there any ILfags posting in here? How hard is it to get a FOID card?

Attached: Screenshot_20180623-200845~2.png (1080x1422, 3.14M)

I like the compactness that a sidefolder gives you.

Regardless of how ungly it is, there is no actual benefit to a wood stock over any folder

Nice third pin. Where you at?

Attached: 20180613_102542~2.jpg (2359x3891, 3.35M)

Naw, you're just dumb. Frank (the owner/head machinist) runs the machine shop where he builds all his guns and offroad trucks in what used to be the store front. They closed the store front recently so you gotta call to make an appointment.

aesthetics is a benefit. not to mention cheek weld
