Canadian nogunz here...

Canadian nogunz here. I just picked up a deactivated nugget at a memorabilia store and was hoping someone could help me identify the make and/or give me some tips for cleaning it up a bit for display. More photos to come.

Nigger why didn't you just get a PAL and buy a working one?

Maybe I will for the next one if I can get ready access to anywhere I can shoot. I live in a city.

How was it deactivated?

Plug down the muzzle and the tip of the firing pin has been cut off.

looks like a 42 Izhevsk. They didn't do the marks very well, which is to be expected from a 1942 rifle. Soviets were very much in 'oh-shit' production mode getting tons of rifles out. This is possibly one of the most common varieties of one of the most common types of rifles on Earth.
Stock almost looks like it wasn't shellac'd after the war, which is interesting

Yeah the finish seemed pretty maybe actually.

Thanks autocorrect
