We're USSR tier levels of secrecy when it comes to these things. We only confirmed SIS (MI6) existed in 1992.

That's a really nice ship. It's too bad you didn't use it to secure your borders. Now you're a fucking shitfight with no future.

Why couldn't they afford EM catapults?
Is the QE not a nuclear ship or something?
Cameron Brooks
Literally being exactly the picture he posted.

Why is the American anthem so damn catchy?
As an Ausfag I find myself singing it so damn often.
...I wish I was American :(
Too bad you guys are all missing part of your cocks tho.
Jacob Wilson
I think its shit, mainly due to all the people that try to "sing" it. Most of whom are just people warbling their voice because if they didn't people would realise that they can't hold a note.
Australia and NZ both have poo anthems though so I can see why you might look up to it.
Kevin Price
Making them CATOBAR and nuclear would raise the cost to the extent where you can only have one carrier. A minor tactical gain is not worth the huge financial and strategic costs.
Samuel Edwards
So it's not nuclear?
Fuck that's really, really embarrassing.
Jayden Murphy
It's the anti-flash gear, so that if there is an explosion you are somewhat protected from flash burns.
Jose Morales
The Mod studied power options for a long time and determined that nuclear was not worth the displacement, volume and money required because it provided minimal tactical advantage.
It's not the 1960's, we have marine gas turbines now that can meet all power requirements at a fraction of the cost.
Brandon Ward
Bong anthem is kind of shit too.
Adrian Carter

This is the number and class break down of active USN ships currently homeported to either CT, VA, FL or Spain right now (ie. Atlantic Ocean, US 6th fleet and 2nd fleet, exceeds the current number of ships in the RN by itself). Pacific fleet (3rd and 7th) have much more.
>48 USN ships currently simultaneously under construction of all classes across the US right now, 46 will be finished within 5 years
>39 future USN ships currently on order slated for future construction within the next 9 years
>300+ active ships across the fleets from 2020 onward, 340 active projected by mid to late 2030s

I'd describe the emotion we feel as smug not embarsesed. We have two carriers instead of one, neither is a money hole that requires refueling and both have ultra modern systems inside allowing the ships to operate with a fraction of the crew of US carriers.
John Parker
Hello again, here's a few more before i go out.
Bentley Wood
Austin Morgan
>neither is a money hole that requires refueling
The US supercarriers' reactors literally do not require nuclear fuel for 25-30 years straight. The only limiting factors are food, fuel for aviation, and munitions. US subs on the other hand can basically just fuck off for 3 months at a time and never need to surface once. Unlike the UK though the US has the money to splurge on building and maintaining 10 supercarriers and 10 conventional carriers.

Wyatt Jones
Dominic Mitchell
>The US supercarriers' reactors literally do not require nuclear fuel for 25-30 years straight.
Which still means they need refueling. Meaning they spend years out of service. This is part of the reason why US carrier availability is so low, in reality they have 4 carriers.
>The only limiting factors are food, fuel for aviation, and munitions.
Which require weekly resupply from ships that are not nuclear powered. to be followed by escorts that are not nuclear powered.
>US subs on the other hand can basically just fuck off for 3 months at a time and never need to surface once.
What makes this unique to US nuclear subs and not anyone else's?
>Unlike the UK though the US has the money to splurge on building and maintaining 10 supercarriers and 10 conventional carriers.
At the expense of other areas - like having universal healthcare for all, something that the rest of the developed world just takes for granted.
I also fail to see why you're turning this into a UK v US argument?
