Just got this guy in. Fuck me. Took a good 6 months from my preorder to get this thing, and it's pretty awesome. It's big, fun and the shiny sculpted G10 feels so good in my hand.
I got it because it had so many different ways of opening it. Most work well, some not so much.
>spidy hole drop >wrist flick >emerson wave >normal spidy hole >spidy flick (hardest way imo) >flick spidy hole (tough but possible) >flipper tab >compression lock open (also tough, need to use finger nail)
Overall I really like this thing. It's a lot of fun, but still useable and it's very light. For being a big knife, it's very slim in the pocket due to it having a narrow profile.
My complaints are minor.
>needs some chamfuring on the spidy hole, but thats a complete against 99% of Spydercos. Only the Southard did that right. >all this style deserves a more stylish pocket clip >if it cost more but had something like CTS-XHP it would be amazing.
i got a buck 119 recently and a crossdraw sheath for it. i always like the looks of the oldschool buck knives, even though an esee would probably serve me better.
Each of the knives in my picture costed 60$. The buck came with a sheath, a sharpening rod, and a sheath for the rod. so...
Justin Sanders
nice. i think my 119 has been reshaped because the point doesnt seem as upswept. i got mine used for 45
i used to have a schrade folder. it seemed hearty

If you want a knife made of some supersteel like O-1, then you are gonna have to pay up. And the knife you posted (the top one) is made from stainless steel, so good luck if you think that is more durable than 1095
Nathan Scott
guys i ordered a Kizer Vanguard Domin. Was it a mistake? Should i get a spyderco endura instead?
Joshua Perez
No shit. To each their own. Keep your luck.
Isaac Fisher
a buddy of mine really likes kizers, and they seem pretty nice. sometimes the high end ones go on sale for a damn good deal
Blake Jenkins
Waiting on a sexy chink knife. Wish the blade was perfectly straight like some other tanto style knives I have.
>Don't really like or care about karambits but want one for shits and giggles, and if I get one, it has to be NEAT >Mantis Vuja De balisong karambit hybrid >Costs ~$80, almost bought it until I saw it's made in Taiwan and read some negative reviews >CRKT announces new "Provoke" kinematic karambit >$200 - Made in China Fuck.
Pic unrelated, my latest acquisition was a Gerber Mark II that I received as an early Christmas gift... also got a Hanwei claymore that FedEx damaged.
Yeah, looks okay but doesn't really stand out to me as far as karambits go. The only Schrade knife I have experience with is the their "Manila Folder" balisong - $80 and it's a fucking floppy shit heap, so I don't know if I want to touch any of their other knives.
I've got a Fox Chiroptera that's been wave-modded (like picture but no thumb stud and the top ground into a wave opener). I started to remove the coating, but got lazy and stopped, so mine looks more used than it actually is.
New ones are around $100 (made in Italy). I'd sell mine for cheaper. Send a burner email if interested.
Shitty shot of most of my knives out for cleaning/lube before going into pelican case. A few were inherited. Left out some mall ninja crap that I received from clueless relatives over the years.
So who wants to explain to me why bladefags are so autistic?
Nicholas Mitchell
Haha, appreciate the offer, user, but I'll have to pass. I can't really explain it, but regarding karambits, I prefer fixed over folding... with the only exceptions being gimmicky ones, such as the aforementioned Vuja De and Provoke. On top of that, just realized my gf's birthday is five days away, so the money I've withheld is going to be used to buy her a Bradley Kimura.
Austin Howard
Todays edc knives. I'll switch up the slipjoint once in a while.
No. It's a fine choice. Spydercos are overrated, their regular quality can't keep up with the chinks anymore. They're only worth it if you go for the exclusives & sprint runs.
Hudson Wilson
That's because steels are heavy meme material. 440c for example is better than VG10, but the chinks took pot steel, stamped 440c on it and flooded the american market, destroying it's reputation in the process. Properly heat treated 440c made in the US or Germany is pretty much as good as cpm154
Damn, my camp knife is made from 420 (without HC) and does just fine.
VG10 is a meme steel. Still riding along its "super steel" moniker from decades past. Even chink knockoff 440s have reached its level in recent years. VG10 is not long for this world, chink potmetal and BD1N are coming for it.
Landon Walker
im sorry man but its not much better for anything other than cutting boxes for tape
Andrew Johnson
I want to get a Finnish Puukko. Anybody have any recommendations? Preferably carbon steel.
condor makes pic related - indigenous puukko is the name, they also make one called the urban edc puukko benchmade came out very recently with a puukko of their own, benchmade 200
neat. is condor tool and knife the same as condor tactical stuff? the "about us" tells me no
Bentley Wright
no they are very different companies. condor T&K makes good stuff for a great price. if not for the quality its for two of the guys who design them, joe flowers and matt graham.
Nathaniel Perez
Titanium Mili with fluted handle >my nigga
Jonathan Green
Recommend me some push button autos at least 3.25" of blade. Nothing over $250.
Kevin Garcia
I have a large espada in g10, pretty sure I got it for $60 or $80 a couple of years ago
Blake Cox
Autos are a meme. A pocket deploying knife with an wave feature is faster.
i would say no. those little mag lights used to be the shit, but there are much better alternatives now. 20 dollars will get you a little beater kershaw. and another 20 will get you a streamlight stylus. ive been carrying the usb rechargeable one for a few years now and i love it
Josiah Sanders
Probably not. Looks like a walmart special which are almost always low quality shit. Gerber is also a laughing stock right now.
You probably need at least $25-$30 for a decent knife. Don't buy from Walmart though. They have special cheapshit low quality versions specially made to bolster their margins.
Cooper Reed
I really, really, really like this knife. It's a meme, but I love it.
It's completely unpractical, but it's so god damn sharp. It's considerably sharper than most of the sharper Spydercos I've had. The finish on it is so damn nice, but that chisel grind is almost useless for normal EDC use.
Xavier Wilson
Me and pretty much everyone I know owns a ka-bar because of a stupid running joke. >2-3 years ago homie says he wants one for Christmas >my group of friends get festive as fuck for the holidays and go all out >naturally we get it for him and he loves it >his aunt who was over for the holidays freaked out when he opened it though >everyone was laughing hysterically while she had a hissy fit >”why would you need a knife that big!?” Etc >so now it’s tradition we buy anyone who doesn’t have one already a ka-bar for Christmas birthdays and try to get them to open it in the worst possible place We all pretty much have them now so if anyone has recommendations on 3 foot long meme knives I can gift people let me know
Adrian Mitchell
Christmas/birthdays**
Aaron Peterson
Don’t, you’re better off spending between $25-$80 on a decent knife
But something that’s obviously a joke, like a 4 foot long folder
Elijah Walker
You mean like a balisong sword?
Oliver Johnson
I find them the most useful. Don't know what you're doing with it.
John Cooper
You fucking with me? For one it's the left hand grind instead of the right hand grind that would be nice.
Isaac Barnes
If it's what you want in a light and knife, go for it, but since you're at Walmart, you can spend $6 and get an Ozark Trail knife and light that'll do you plenty fine and be piss easy to replace if lost or broken.
Jace Gomez
Thats honestly not a bad deal, somewhat decent light and knife for $20
There are lots of great quality cheap knives and cheap flashlights out there though, you could buy a better knife and light for not much more
