>burt selling his guns
what the fuck is this blasphemy
nigga please don't pull another R51, I'm begging you!
>making a cast version of an existing design that has been around for years and selling it at rock bottom pricing
sounds EXACTLY like the sort of thing Ruger would do.

>sounds EXACTLY like the sort of thing Ruger would do.
And they would make mad bank on it.
Seriously, how have they gone so long without a shotgun? The low pressures of 12 gauge are just ASKING, nay, BEGGING for an investment cast shotgun.

Y'all niggas got a discord still?

It's hard to compete with $100 dollar chinkshit and $200 turkshit, even at scale with castings.
maybe if they went mid market with a cast stainless steel option to rival the 590A1 Marine, they could do fairly well, but perhaps the timing has never been right? Idk.

SS Mil-Spec Springfield 1911 for $500... little scratched up but overall seems to be in good shape. Worth it or could I do better? Under 21 so I'm limiting myself to used options

Attached: IMG_0524.jpg (4032x3024, 3.48M)

>Imbel frame
eh those older guns are OK.
$500 is the price of a new RIA, so it's pretty fair overall. Stainless will help keep worries with maintenance down, at least. ask the owner if you can meet at a range and shoot it with him/her just to make sure you aren't getting a lemon dumped on you.
>starting with a .45
are you sure you want to do that? any other options available?

>not using a concentricity callout on the bore I.D./thread O.D.
>.500 not 1/2-28-2A UNF
>having a two thou. runnout on a fucking relief cut
>having a fucking ~6 SECOND callout on a relief cut
jesus H. christ whoever drew this blueprint should be repeatedly kicked in the balls then shot.

I've shot 1911s before, I like how they shoot. Would you suggest another used 1911 for somewhere around $500? I have time to wait.

But that's not a relief cut. The suppressor seats on that taper.

FDE or black? I’m wanting to buy either a Glock 19X or 45, and a Beretta M9 A3 in either black or FDE. I have no FDE guns currently and live somewhere green and not brown.

>But that's not a relief cut. The suppressor seats on that taper.
It's the firearm equivalent to a pipe thread, lol.

wut, okay. well nevermind. you do still need a concentric callout for taper/bore/o.d. thread methinks as: location =/= taper runnout in relation to thread unless i'm too drunk to tell.

Is anyone in this thread NOT drunk right now?

Attached: Pastis1.jpg (480x640, 65K)

>Drinking

Snagged this very lightly used EAA Witness steel-frame .45 acp from a pawn shop today for $375 out the door. Seemed kinda abandoned-looking at the very bottom corner of the pistol rack. Anyone have any experience with these Tangfolio/EAA CZ-alikes?

Every human society in history has, at one point or another, made and consumed alcohol.

Attached: LOGH alcohol.jpg (1920x1440, 382K)

The Italian clones of the Czech clones of the BHP are good to go, man. Even the Israeli clones of the Italian clones of the Czech clones of the BHP are fine.

do I get a 4inch or a 6inch .357 revolver? or should I go up to 44mag?

Attached: clap(1).gif (500x362, 445K)

Why stop there?
Get a 12" barrel for long boi points.

What about the Turkish clones of the Czech clones of the BHP?

Uh, no? a pipe thread mates on the tapered thread. This has a taper that provides alignment, and a straight thread that only applies lengthwise force.

If anything, the separation of locating and fastening is the firearm equivalent to how chucks and other workholding devices are mounted to almost every metal-cutting lathe worth a damn.

(I said almost, HC-chan! Your quirky screw/flange mount is cute!)

Went to my local gunshop today, I was going to buy a Walther P22 Target for fun and came out with a Browning Buckmark instead.

Attached: buckmark.jpg (1200x800, 736K)

honestly the serrations and grip checkering looks like fucking garbage and combined with the high polish it makes the gun look like pimped out mexican cartel bait
good on them for the new safety, rail, and being all-steel though

Attached: 1547761521231.gif (220x162, 142K)

Nice.
>google the Heggis flip
Tandemkross also offers a flat-faced trigger for it, if you have big hands it will buy you some much-needed trigger reach.

What's your use for it?
Want to CC but also have a decent revolver to practice with? 4inch
Want to have a great revolver to target shoot with and opencarry on hip? 6inch
Want to make big boom and have a better hunting revolver? .44 mag

357 can pretty much always be loaded with .38 special, and cheap 38 special ammo is less half the price per round of the cheapest .44mag ammo.

I don't know about the Turkish ones, but the Chinese clones of the Czech clones of the BHP work pretty well for the price.
The only thing wrong with the Buckmark is that the reassembly is frustrating. Classic 3 handed affair.

I don't drink. Always gives me a hangover about an hour or two in.

I got small Asian hands so it'll be fine.
I wanted the stainless steel one because I have too many black guns but they didn't have it in stock and it was $40 more.

Attached: buckmarks.jpg (5565x3338, 3.59M)

I'm the first drunk machinist.
you are correct, however; theoretically if you were able to gauge the pitch dia. of the o.d. thread accurately you could meet both requirements of concentricity and runnout assuming the suppressor had appropriately mating threads- thus not requiring separate operations.

Eat salty food and drink lots of water.
I literally have 4L bottle right next to me as I write this that I cracked open today and will kill before I go to bed.
Did your parents not teach you how to drink?

FDE can look good but if you’re not in an area where itll matter then why bother.

No guns here, just ordered a S&W Shield to hop on the bandwagon.

Selected "on-file" FFL during checkout process, called the FFL before checkout. Was told to select them in the checkout process as the FFL, they'll call my number when it arrives.

... but the order confirmation says ship to billing aka home address.

Did I fuck up, or is that normal? Everyone is closed until monday morning. My instinct tells me if it was this easy to fuck up, or they actually ship a gun to the billing address, then the retailer is as retarded as I am.

I never noticed the re-assembly being a pain.

Are you thinking of the Mark 4?

>MkIV
Hell no. That thing SOLVED the reassembly for the Ruger .22 pistols.
It was a giant PITA from the "Standard" up until the MkIII and the Buckmark falls in the same category.

That said, the Colt Woodsman is probably worse.

5" half lug
3" bull barrel
7.5"+ longboi
only acceptable answers

These are pretty accurate in my experience... Can do 2-3" groups freehand pretty much all day

You can add a rail to it still. Rails are $30
amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B003LS3YLK/ref=mp_s_a_1_4?qid=1422813206&sr=8-4&pi=AC_SX110_SY165_QL70&keywords=browning buckmark rail&dpPl=1&dpID=31lOR4MZv+L&ref=plSrch

You can easily also take it off for aesthetics

You haven't disassembled the gun enough to realize how annoying it is to reassmble it sounds like

if it checks out it's a good price for a 1911. Just go for it if that's what you want.
>he doesn't know about the Green/Black M9A3
it's available for a limited time, bruh.
hop on it.
>buy a G19X or G45
hard pass
dodged a bullet, desu
which buckmark model do you have? 2-3" at what distance?

Attached: blk-green-m9a3.jpg (1200x817, 588K)

I would never carry it and I dont really hunt so it would be a range toy/keep on the night stand gun.

>You haven't disassembled the gun enough to realize how annoying it is to reassmble it sounds like

probably true

What lubes and greases do you guys use?

mobil1 full synthetic and lucas red n tacky grease

Those OD ones are ugly IMO.

meh

I had the same model he posted
And @25 yards

ballistol

Don't worry about it. It'll most likely get shipped to the FFL.
And if it doesn't, woohoo no paperwork.

FUCK TIMESHARES

They won't ship it to your address, the seller will probably contact you on Monday to have your FFL send ANOTHER copy of their info. I have rarely been able to have a no-contact transaction buying guns online where the seller already has the receiving FFL's info up to date on hand. They have ALWAYS asked me for fresh info, even if they already have the receiving FFL on file.

But that said, worst case scenario if they do ship the handgun straight to your house, just carry it to the FFL and laugh about the mix up while he enters it into his logbook.

You dodged a bullet there, nice

It's not high polish, it's literally what stainless steel looks like.

WeaponShield for now, I just ran out of Outers

WD40 Specialist PTFE dry lube
Lubriplate FGL #1

Lubriplate FMO 350 AW
Super Lube Grease

Anything else is objectively wrong. especially ballistol, remoil, or clp.

>high polish
If anything it's bead blasted, I wish it was high polished, or better yet in Based Brushed Stainless

Attached: 53739810.jpg (1024x818, 152K)

There's a cz-83 in my local store on consignment for 300$, it would be my first semiautomatic pistol that I plan on keeping for home defense and carry in .380, should I get it? It's in really nice shape and it feels natural in my hand over many of the 9mm offerings and 9mm maks they had there. I'm left handed so the slide release being ambi is nice.

Shit.

Which one?

They're Italian made and under $780.

Oh man.

I need to pick THEY WILL BE GONE IN 14 HOURS.

I'm leaning towards green.

>expensive mineral oil in a can

I like the grey one more, but the green is cool too.
For collector reasons the green might be a better buy, that "disruptive grey" like color is more popular lately (see Sig legion series and bcm jack carbine etc)

Why isn't anyone making pistol barrels with a conical shoulder like this, so that we can finally have suppressors that don't come loose?

>expensive
It's less than 2 dollars per can

It's probably THE cheapest option for a sprayable mineral oil on the market, what are you smoking?
Anything more than mineral oil is snake oil anyway.

stop buying from amazon

yeah, but no new people allowed.

You can stop samefagging at any time.

OD green all day baby
(but I'm mad biased)
>why not both? :>

P99c(semi-cocked) or P2000sk/P30sk(both LEM)?
Concerns are how easy it is to carry, easy to shoot accurately, and relative differences in recoil

>Using absolute position on a basic dimension describing diameter.
Who the fuck did this and what is there Cert Holder number?

Attached: ANG.gif (500x281, 498K)

Because you only get one point of contact on a line doing. Anything more than one point and and material has been deformed.

Attached: Superior German Engineering.jpg (642x387, 47K)

Why is this not in the US?

Attached: Screenshot_20190310-100457_Chrome.jpg (1080x638, 142K)

Because Walther sucks and I hate them

The only thing we hate more than aesthetics is Ameticans

Always
Go
Grigio

Why does /hg/ never talk about the Medusa M47?

Attached: 25calibers.jpg (980x593, 141K)

Because they're expensive, rare and fragile.

>why do you guys never talk about this obscure pet gun of mine?
We're too busy sucking off each other over carrying MK23s or some shit.

How can they hate aesthetics when the P99 is top aesthetic?

Attached: P99(2).jpg (2670x2403, 306K)

Ian already did, and it's a bad design.

Lol

Got an Engineering degree and occasionally have to draft stuff. Company has zero standards or trained people, I have no proper training on it, never bothered to study outside of college, mostly just monkey-see monkey-do. Not paid enough to care.

Looks like getting a nickel and gold taurus won't work because the grips only fit beretta 92s. What I need is one of the 92 combat models with the barrel weight on the end, and just polish the slide and frame, coat the accents in TiN.
But fuck me I'm in for a bad time, no one is selling an inox combat anymore.

Attached: 92-sauron-combat.gif (634x451, 34K)

Fuck it, bought a RAPc.

All my range buddies already have S&W Shields, so... for 320$ and a sprinkle of Deus Ex, I'm not sure I can be disappointed

Apparently Ruger fixed the peening issue. Everything I read says these are overbuilt like the P89 lineage, but better. Given the P89 and SR series, this will probably outlast me.

Attached: IMG_9553__76744.1528397357.jpg (829x610, 95K)

>the literal what?
That's why

You don't like the M&P M2.0 huh?

That is sadly very common.
One place I worked at I needed to teach the welders what welding symbols mean...

>You don't like the M&P M2.0 huh?
I have nothing against it. I made my decision on doublestack not being much larger than the shield, the fact ruger overbuilt for the 20k rounds test, and pocketing the marginal $ difference. For 320$ I expect it to be the striker fired AK47 of handguns. Plus, 50/50 one of my range buddies sells me their shield to make rent.

If it proves on the larger side for CCW, I was planning on an EC9 anyway.

>overbuilt for the 20k rounds test
Derp, Army’s Modular Handgun System Program.

IIRC the P85/89/95 etc series was for the Joint Service Small Arms Program.

Those SK barrels are short as shit and at that length, HKs recoil reduction won't do you any favor.

What's the circle that has lightning coming out of it mean? That means I smoke near it right?

Yeah that is kind of a bonerbuster that S&W changed the size of the "Compact" to what I call a semi-compact. Well if ya don't like it you'll be able to sell it without much or any loss.

The P99c has a WAYYYYY better trigger but other than that the P2000sk or P30sk are at least equal if not better guns.

I personally think the HK subcompact grips are not very comfortable, especially with the grip extension that has a deep finger groove while the P99c is more comfortable, but the HKs are probably more shootable practically speaking.

Can you handle them irl to decide that way or does it have to be an internet vote-off?

Before I got there, the Engineering department would literally just put text of "weld here" with an arrow.
Didn't say what kind of weld, where or anything... Nearly had an aneurysm.

They nitride coated the shit out of that gun. As far as internals go, it's a bargain.

Are ANY of Ruger's guns not a bargain?
Investment casting is just too cost effective.

ruger's bolt actions are nice but often a tad expensive. Their exclusives and anniversary models are often lower in value, too.
High value is Ruger's whole schtick, desu. You don't think 'world class' or 'premium' when you hear the name "Ruger".
>Ruger is a industrial casting company that does guns during downtime as a side gig

Welp I got the gray one.

The M77 and some of their revolvers, I feel.

gay

Eh, mineral oil doesn't work so good at low temperatures IIRC. I still use it since i don't live in the frigid north, but i could see why some people might opt for something else if they did.

>Falling for the liquid jew

Attached: 1545927832399.png (1508x892, 171K)

which revolvers?

The M77 is overpriced for what it is.
>inb4 b-but muh CRF!
The GP100 is overpriced for what it is, although their "specialty" models like the Match Champion are pretty close to a reasonable value.
Their now-discontinued Red Label was incredibly overpriced for what it was, it was literally worse made than the Mossberg Silver Reserve as well as being so fucking muzzle heavy it felt like swinging a cinderblock on a broomstick.

Can i put a gen 3 trigger & gen3 trigger bar into a gen 4 g19? Also what's the best bang for buck trigger? The stock gen 4 is far worse than gen 3
