It might be tough to hear that you don't qualify but don't take it personally. They need stable and mentally strong individuals. For example, seeing a dead body on the internet isn't the same as in real life and you need to be able to control yourself.

In my case i got a 4 on the psychological (5 is the general requirement, but 4 can get you in to the homeguard), and the only reason is because i wasn't sure if i wanted to study after basic or if i wanted to continue, and most of my unit had the same experience. They also look for people who can continually steer the conversation and tell them everything they need to hear with them asking as few questions about yourself as possible.

Basically what they are trying to do is decide if you are ready to commit to the military lifestyle and not just get basic training on your CV.

Kom bara ihåg att vara väldigt ödmjuk hos psykologen också, ingen gillar någon som är allt för kaxig, och psykologerna är människor precis som alla andra, med både bra och dåliga dagar osv.

Skaffa jobb och egen lägenhet, samt helst ett fritidsintresse som är både socialt och fysiskt aktivt.

The exact same thing happened to me. Told me I wasn't mature enough. I had spent 12 months getting into the best shape of my life and I didn't even get to do the physical tests.

Having actually worked as a soldier in Sweden and at Rekryteringsmyndigheten (military recruitment agency) I can say they were probably correct.

In the Netherlands they just ask you basic questions and observe you when you enter the main building. You also have to fill in a giant list online, over 200 questions. A psychologist can learn a lot with just observing and talking.

They dont even care what you answer usually. They look at the way your eyes move, if you seem uncomfortable, if you are trying to hide things etc
