This isn't hidden knowledge.

A mass shooter's objective is to kill as many people as possible in the short time he/she has before the police arrive. Hence, they will flee if there is resistance, will not generally chase scattering runners, and will not invade spaces that are difficult to access. They're looking for easy kills for maximum impact. For instance, note the person livestreaming the shooting entered the mosque multiple times, but did not force open any locked doors.

The persons that end up as casualties are those that are shot in the initial burst, that try to hide, play dead, or otherwise fail to quickly vacate the active shooter area. Example, after the livestreaming shooter feels he has a handle on the situation, he makes sure to execute any wounded.

Shooting back is the best way to end the situation. Never hide. Get the fuck out of there or fight with the intent to kill.

I always figure confronting them with equal (or as close to as possible) force would make them back down or seek a new area to target. It was just this specific incident I wanted to see if it happened. Maybe some people will start to learn that signs and laws do not stop this kind of thing if someone already has a weapon and the intent. One person with even a pistol could have ended it when they heard the first shots. Instead, everyone tragically cowered in the corner or tried to run.

My friend who's a cop said it was an inside job. Cops were pulled away from the mosque areas before the massacre started.

Wrong question. Why nobody had a tool to defend themselves? Cops won't get to the scene on time, never. When seconds matter, police are always late by at least 20 minutes. The whole situation is the reason why people should carry guns
