I want a lightweight ar15

>got me an M&P Sport 2 and tried to modify it to feel like my Service M4A1, except maybe the free float handguard (because barrelwhip and accuracy)
>Spent money on a new Hanson profile barrel, muzzle comp (NJ), stock for balance, and handguard
>Still feels like shit.
>Went to a random gun store and saw Windham weaponry’s WW 15.
>Gov’t/M4 profile barrel
>feels light/good as hell and I can hold it 5ever

Wtf Jow Forums? Anybody else owns an M&P Sport 2? How much does your rifle weigh?

>Pic, this is what peak AR 15 performance looks like

Great thread.

WHY DOES MY M&P FEEL LIKE SHIT user!?!?!

Get Battle Rifle like a real man.

>Battle Rifle

Ok. WTF.

Redpill me on this.

how old are you typing like this

Younger than you, you old fuck. Like fuck you and your musket, you fucking fossil.

We already covered this
You bought a shitty heavy aero rail and a dumb buttstock then cried why the rifle isnt light. If you did the rifle properly it would balance far better than the abortion you made now

Battle Rifle in 7.62 Real Fucking NATO! Not that .22 caliber homosex cartridge.

Oh looks it's the babbyarms user again.

How do I get rid of obnoxious M&P logo on the right side of rifle?

A M&P15 Sport 2 IS a lightweight AR. It's 6.4lbs.

A windham WW15 is 7.4 lbs.

Belt sander

Not with that big ass barrel its not

damage receiver and forced to repaint (if you can even find the right color to match)

Attached: cat-hissing-thinkstock-187628924-335lc040214.jpg (335x285, 30K)

Your feelings don't matter, dumbass. Facts and numbers do. 6.4lbs is lightweight.

Nice rifle tho

only way you can go lighter is carbon fiber parts, really

Are you using the imperial system you fucking idiot

Attached: windham weaponry.jpg (1647x625, 119K)

That's not a WW15 you stupid fuck, that's a fucking carbon fiber model.

Attached: windham weaponry.jpg (1576x576, 109K)

oh look, it's goat fuck again

Attached: 20180722_111536.jpg (4032x2220, 3.11M)

>src
STILL not a ww15. And it's .1lbs lighter than the mp15.

I like that magazine

I see poor credit scores and poor taste in rifles go hand in hand

>step 1- buy colt lower
>step 2- buy pin and weld le6921 colt 14.5 upper pinned to 16".
>step 3- install acog, sopmod stock and kac rail
>step 4 ????????
>step 5 profit

I am rolling my eyes at your Colt dick-riding

>unless its the retro XM-whatever

look in a mirror

Your mag doesnt work giddy

And then put on a law folder

Yes, you can.

If it ain't a Colt it's a copy.

>no irons

>acog
Irons are a decoration

I also got an M&P Sport II, how should I upgrade it? There are some many options.

>wah one of the lightest semi-autos in history is too heavy
Lift some weights fag. I'm not at all in tremendous shape and an AR is plenty light to me.

get rid of logo

Nigga that ain't light.

Nobody in this thread is light.

Attached: bantam empty.jpg (2600x1733, 1.48M)

Sling and an optic. That's it. Anything else is superfluous.

At my LGS there is a IWI tavor for $1499 (marked for $1699). Looks fairly new, decent price? What do I need to look for? Bolt looks pretty new.

>being a white manchild who uses the word "nigga"
>using an uncalibrated scale
Absolutely disgusting and subhuman.

See I'll be good with 4 lbs. total (with the toys included)

why would hundreths of an ounce matter on a food scale?

My rifle with all the cheap amazon stuff clocks in at like 6.5 lbs. - 7.2 lbs. with 30 round mag

armslist.com/posts/8323730/columbia-south-carolina-rifles-for-sale--psa-10-5--ar-pistol

What else can I do to lighten this rifle? Replace upper?

>I wan lightweight AR!
>gets a heavy rail, heavy stock and a govt profile barrel

So did you want to have a lightweight rifle or have a gun you can let 300rds off in less than three minutes as you cover your boys in a hot extract? Seriously nigger.

Would switching from a free float handguard to a drop in rail make a difference as far as weight distribution?

Attached: wm_5032631.jpg (1632x1224, 264K)

it did once

I bought a S&W MP15 Sport 2, the optics ready version.

huge mistake.

Same. I have the NJ Compliant version.

I wouldve went with these before that:

>Windham Weaponry
>PSA
>DPMS

I guess thats why its a "Starter AR" because you'll know when you pay to upgrade it you couldve gotten a better rifle

>INB4 BCM

If we are going at that price point, I'd save a bit more and get a Colt.

The latter, but I would rather not have it weigh as much as an M1 Garand

>ar15 owner is a babby arms
Lmao everytime

Attached: 3 slings.jpg (2921x2576, 3.52M)

where to cop those mags. do you have a contact in france or senegal?? I NEED TO KNOW

I got one nearly for free, what exactly makes it a huge mistake for you

Hijack. Anyone here ever have experience with tntesales? Looking at their a2 uppers, price seems too good to be true for chrome lined barrels.

If it aint a full-auto M4A1 Carbine it's a copy

What're your accessories? I've got a M&P Sport and I was thinking of getting an optic and light/laser combo.

i love arfcom posting

I have
>Romeo 5
>Ozark Armament flashlight (will probably get a lighter one)
>airsoft peq-15 for show, I don’t have nods anyway so fuck it
>magpul vfg

Das it

Brownells is coming out with straight 25’s.

I got this PSA recently and it's lighter than my pws and def the lightest of my ars. Id highly recommend something like this as it is light and points very well. A quad rail starts to shift the weight too far forward imo

Attached: IMG_20190315_232615.jpg (4032x3024, 3.37M)

I don’t have a pic of it on the scale on my phone, but this rifle weighs 7lbs, 2.5oz with a loaded 30rd magazine. This includes the BCM grips, Aimpoint, and Streamlight.

If I dropped the BFG and put an A2 grip on it, it’d be under 7lbs.

Remember when you blamed a baffle strike on polymer-tipped ammo?

Attached: bouncygote.gif (720x900, 643K)

I definitely felt the shift in weight once I added the rail and foregrip, which are both some form of metal for me. It feels more front heavy but I can tell there's less lift from the recoil, so there's some give and take

You don't need to worry about accuracy with a battle rifle. A .308 to the leg is as good as .223 to the head.

pic related

Attached: It's more front heavy now.jpg (720x960, 150K)

You forgot a white light.

A lightweight, chrome lined barrel from delton is like...$150 for a carbine length. That's with the A2 front post. You could pay for someone to do a barrel swap for you. going rate for replacing a barrel should be below $50, not much to it. just have to move the components over (front sight post and related parts, other barrel parts)

haha im exaggerating a bit, but I hate that it doesnt have the front sight post like a normal AR. Its somewhat clunky and after modding it I should have just got better set up.

I will say tho I think I only payed like $400 for it.

I don't feel like going through all of the work and extra cash for the SBR so I looked at the 16' which would still be around $155 pre shipping. The main thing I want to do is get rid of the bulky front sight and get a foldable front sight and eventually a decent optic.

You fucking tool, it's the real shit.
Go buy one, they're like $600 without a BCG.
14.5" pinned and welded to 16.1"

Attached: 1552006776710.jpg (2048x769, 585K)

NOOOO keep the A2 front sight

Operators who operates operationally approves of it.

Not even kidding.

Same

>was 11 bang bang
>wanted an AR that reminded me of my M4
>Got an M4 profile barrel
>Got me quad rails
>It feels like shit now.

I dont remember my M4 feeling like this

Then just get a barrel without the post. It'd be even cheaper

This.

Do what I did in my M&P.

>Got a longer free float handguard
>Had armorer friend chop off the A2 front sight post in lieu of getting a low pro gas block

Fucked up my folding front sigh while doing barrier drills. I truly regret not having the A2

>step 1- buy colt lower
This is the hardest part, Colt needs to wise up and just sell stripped lowers already so they can stop going bankrupt. Usually you only find OLT brand OLT lowers on a complete rifle.

The FSB largely disappears when viewed through optics, you're going to regret losing the classic A-frame.

Why didn’t they make the M16s shoot a bigger caliber anyways?

>Irons are a decoration
Spoken like a true gear queen.

Newfag is barely legal, come back when you get your CC
>inb4 "complying"
At least it would tell us he's not on spring break.

Still overpriced

>got me an M&P Sport 2 and tried to modify it to feel like my Service M4A1

>didn't just buy a Colt m4a1

kek.

Hey nigger I keep meaning to ask you where u got ur Benelli tube extendo. I'm picking up a supernova soon and want those two extra shells.

BCM is way better than colt what are you on about?

Came with my kit, you can find em on ebay tho

My AR weighs 10lbs, I can hold it all day no prob and I have weak manlet arms. Just train with it more. The weight has benefits.

What's your setup?

>unironically buying a colt over a BCM
are you retarded?

Del ton has a very nice lite weight 16" upper $275 or a nice kit $450

You want a light weight AR? Look up the WWSD AR, and say no more.
