If you want a Railgun with 4,600 MPH fire rate, you are going to need some Liquid Nitrogen Cooling. Such a cooling system may cost as much as a wall between the U.S./Mexico border, but for several times more band for the military industrial complex's buck. Quit wasting your military spending budget POTUS!
>4,600 MPH fire rate >rate of fire >mph GIR OUT NORRMERRRRRRREEEEEEEE

>4,600 MPH fire rate boi

Use Space...its cold up there
Sebastian Stewart
Joke on you, we buy Chinese.
Matthew Myers
desu that wouldn’t work It’s hard af to cool stuff in space Better off making it out of carbon (graphite, graphene diamond, etc) for max thermal conductivity and putting it at bottom of the arctic ocean
Liquid nitrogen is not liquid cooling, it's cryocooling. You'd want massive cryocoolers with nitrogen reservoirs surrounding the "Barrel", so that the thing goes from -200 standard to
Robert Bennett
The Chinese use self-lubricating armatures made out of semi-liquid metal. Basically, the magnetic Sabot itself turns into lubricant during acceleration.
Just wait till what railgun appears on Super-heavy self-propelled artillery.
Liam Brown
Space has a low air density and thus has poor heat conduction. While it is an incredibly low tempature it means litterally nothing for cooling. This is why the surface of the moon can get boiling hot and stay that way as long as it is in contact with light. A railgun would be the same story, overheating near instantly. But continue to pretend that user is the brainlet because you watched an epic youtube science channel.
infrared radiation also the fucking sun you shit cunt
Carson Cruz
>Are you a product of the modern education system Are you? (You) clearly don't understand thermal conductivity if you think a vacuum is better at cooling than a heatsink.
Jacob Baker
what part of minus 455 degrees Fahrenheit. dont you understand?
pack up your fantasy sonny...get your homework done schools on monday.
Carson Edwards
Hey did you know the very upper atmosphere (thermosphere) is extremely hot? Like, 200-500 degrees Celsius hot? Of course, if you were in it you would still freeze to death because the air is so thin that none of that heat would be conducted. They call it freezing to death in an oven
Railguns are absolute bullshit right now. They are pretty much impractical, and it will be decades of development before they become practical. Lasers are more useful, but still limited by physics, and protecting against lasers is not really that hard. They can fuck up sensors though.
Landon Reed
>Liquid nitrogen is not liquid cooling Read that again. Cryogenics has nothing to do with the state the refrigerant is in.
Angel Bailey
Says Boomers should be shot.
Posts one of the world's biggest retards, Paul Krugman.
Make up your fucking mind, kiddo.
Brody Thompson
Or better yet, by time the distribution of wealth evens out, we should raise our kids to be on the look out for background politics that could potentially lead to a 3rd gilded age, unlike how the boomers were neglected such education by their Ultramarine Mary Sue parents, and therefore resulting in the 2nd gilded age (Mid-1970s through early-2000s).
