>selling a few guns from my collection on armslist >random FFL contacts me saying hes interest >shoots me a lowball offer, tell him to fuck off >contacts me again regarding a different gun >say im not interest in his lowballs so he should fuck off >sends back an email threatening to contact the ATF because im selling guns without a federal license
Has anyone had this happen before? I collect a couple different styles from milsurp/modern/historic and I buy/sell/trade every now and then, but I've never had someone threaten to contact the ATF on my ass for being a collector. Should I file a complaint or something? Please help.
I want to, but I don't want some FFL threatening me and getting away with it. I'm considering posting what he says on the state gun forum so at least other collectors/FFLs know he is a bootlicker/snitch
Kevin Thomas
The fuck is wrong with you. Ignore it they aren't going to trace your ass due to some disgruntled fudd FFL.
Jace Reyes
Get your FFL too and ascend to the next level.
Josiah Green
Okay go be as retarded as him and go engage with his bullshit. Email him some gay porn and tell him to meet you somewhere to fight
Landon Reed
Looking to buy the ATF rifle if anybody knows where to get one. Pm me [email protected]
Liam Reyes
Technically getting a C&R is an FFL, easy one to get.
Jayden Diaz
What's his FFL?
Lucas Gonzalez
respond back and ask him what it would take for him to not contact the ATF. don't put too much effort into sounding scared because since you are a Jow Forums poster you probably have the emotional tone deafness of a brick and it will be too obvious.
he will most likely demand to buy a bunch of your guns at theft prices.
then at this point you have a gun dealer threatening private parties, most likely a young person, with the ATF in order to get a cheap deal. post the email exchange everywhere along with his info.
congratulations enjoy getting 90% of the gun internet ruining his life for you while you eat tendies.
Charles Rivera
Hell, just report him to the ATF and your local attorney general for attempted extortion. That'll screw him over way more than some nobodies on the internet being salty.
Eli Brooks
Fuck's he gonna do, report to the ATF that he tried to purchase guns in a transaction he believed to be illegal or improper? Use your head nigga. Ignore him
Liam Parker
This. Bait him into making himself trouble.
Henry Murphy
This lawyer up and you could own a gun store
Lucas Adams
Fuck him up.
If he's done this to you, he's done it to other people and got away with it. He's benefited from using threats to extort low prices from people who didn't know any better, and he's probably boasted and laughed about it with others of his ilk.
Do it legally but put his ass through the wringer.
Elijah Garcia
Federal Firearms License? t. Not American
Ethan Davis
>I don't want some FFL threatening me and getting away with it What will happen if he "gets away with it"? Does he get to fuck your wife or something? Like is that a thing in your state, if someone insults you or threatens you and you do nothing, they put you in a cage with a starving mountain lion to harden the fuck up? They chop your dick off? Because unless that's something that's likely to happen, then there's absolutely no reason to engage with him.
Fucks sakes.
Michael Bell
Yes. Assholes get to get away with being assholes all the time. People are going to threaten you and dammit user the stakes are too high to call them on it every time.
And remember, your every email is evidence if it does escalate. If you get it deep shit your posts on indonesian basketweaving sites too. Whenever possible let the other guy make mistakes while you find diplomatic ways to talk. Saved a friend of mine 800 bucks because the email chain exonerated him from the counter fraud claim. He's grateful I convinced him to keep his emails polite.
Hunter Hughes
It's literally not illegal to sell firearms without an FLL, they simply cant be a significant part of your paycheck (>50%) Legit do not give it more then 10 seconds thought and a laugh.
Lucas Bell
If he gets away with it he will go on to try and rip off someone else, maybe he will contact someone that is naieve and doesnt know the laws as well as we do and fuck him over, turning around to sell the gun at a 1000% mark up you stupid fuck.
Justin Myers
It is. However it isn’t a license to sell, it is a license to collect C&R guns and receive them without a background check. You can’t just engage in the regular sale of firearms because of an FFL-03, you would commonly need an FFL-01 or another license that specified what you are licensed to do.
Camden Gomez
Get a lawyer and have him serve a Cease and Desist. Cost you a little bit but the implication is that you're going to sue and it will cost the FFL tens of thousands to fight it.
Lincoln Foster
Arrange to meet and then shoot him dead.
Kevin Collins
I'm going to my local dealer today to ask if he knows this guy and what his advice would be.
I understand not stirring the shitpot but threatening to contact the ATF is like a crackhead threatening to call the cops on a middle school weed dealer.
I'll follow up
Kevin Green
Nothing wrong with it. Even if you live in a state like WA, were private sales are no go unless you go to a FFL for the transfer, you can still put your shit up for sale. If any thing report his ass for threatening you.
Ryder Scott
First off, you’re not engaged in selling selling guns. You’re just downsizing your personal collection or getting some cash back for a new car or better deer rifle, right?
Second, I would totally play into it and setup a trade. Make sure you bait it with something like “my dickhead xyz willed me his military rifle collection” or “some Webly 45.” Just tell him you’ll meet him at Walmart and you’ll be driving a white Corolla. Never show up and text him 15 mins in telling him you’re on the other side of the parking lot. Make sure you ask for his license first because you only like to deal with a professional and look up the number on FFL EZ check so you can send him funny things in the mail. Shit like dog hair, Bud K catalogs, small objects with insufficient postage, retail fliers and free samples. Use his cell phone number from the “meetup” to post helpful ads on Craigslist advising free transfers, safety glasses, trail marking tape and bore sighting. Let everyone know how the retail price on Kimbers is only $539. Use services like Prank Owl, where’s my cellphone and Comedy Calls to troll relentlessly. Use VPNs and proxies for even more calls. Spam his email. Finally go to the shop after a couple weeks and ask about the cheap Kimbers and your roll of tape.
People like this deserve to be trolled. I have seen this a few times myself. Many people that run this type of business are parasites and are greedy gun shecklemeisters. Make them work for their buck, there are plenty of good people out there.
