ProMag A-9 Ruger 32 round mag a shit

Something something purdy.
>want the full stock
>every fucking retailer only sells the regular stock
>still tempted
>nay, resist
>rinse
>repeat
>still lack a .22 anything in my collection

Just picked up a Colt Lightning in .22

Not sure *which* .22 though

Cast the chamber and slug the bore.

Not quite at the disassembly stage yet.

Dealing with other issues first

The only bullpup I'm getting in 22LR (ZK Stock)

The only standard action I'm getting in 22LR (Promag Archangel Tactical Stock I think)

Probably .22 Long.
If that doesn't chamber then it would be a rare one in only .22 short.
Just try to chamber an empty LR case to find out.

I was torn, there is a band and pin on eBay, but its money.

Ended up pulling it out, giving it a bath in Krillin Oil (Kroil for short) and then hitting it with a bronze bore brush from a Swiss STG-57 kit.

Not sure about next step

Paul Harrell shoots 22 for a whole fucking hour. What is up with this autistic old man.

Just gave it a try, .22lr shell fits

So its .22 long?

Attached: IMG_0682.jpg (1485x2461, 780K)

Why not a pump?

Savage 1903s are pretty asthetic

If you want something that can handle high-velocity though, you need to go to the next generation of designs

Attached: Sav03Overall-24.jpg (1024x509, 54K)

Do the 10/22 BX-25 mags cycle like shit for anyone else? I've seen Harrell and other YouTubers use those clear plastic mags, I thought they would be low-tier but maybe they'll cycle better, I've been using mini-mags and I still get a misfire/backwards round in the chamber every ten-fifteen rounds, Federal Auto-Match was every other damn round

I'm sorry, I can't hear you over the sound of my Marlin Model 60 functioning reliably

Yep.
Long and Long rifle share teh same shell length but the rifle predates LR.

Didn't a pedophile make that?

I love me some .22 pump guns. The ultimate plinking machine.

Attached: received_291245731519803.jpg (1000x827, 64K)

can you fire a 22 long out of a 22lr?

I love .22. I still want to rice out my 10/22. Maybe go full autism and see if I can put a bayonet lug on it for autism.

Attached: 20190113_145242-3024x1470.jpg (3024x1470, 1.74M)

yes
Can fire the shorter
LR>Long>Short>CB/BB/Flobert
WMR>WRF/RemSPL

I know the difference is the charge. I think the recommendation is CCI Quiet since they are low-powered

Attached: IMG_0671.jpg (3057x2025, 1.32M)

Main difference is the bullet.
LR chambers are cut longer for the larger bullet.

fuck your tubes man I'm not on life support

is preferred but if it has a caliber from about .222 to.228 and no significant necking, I think no one would argue.

9mm pccs have made .22lr obsolete

what are a few good models to start reading about?

What model is that, and does it come in a pattern that doesnt make my eyes bleed?

Ruger pc carbine (giant 10/22), available in black and coyote too

>Ruger pc carbine (giant 10/22)
Thanks lad, been looking into getting a PCC for a while.

Plink time is coming.

Looks high quality as fuck.

.22lr vs .17hmr for wabbit and squirrel? .22 is the old standard and cheaper but .17 shoots flatter for farther distances. I want to get a cz or savage bolt gun that I can pass on to my kids some day.

Ok grandpa, it's time for your daily hospice meds

I'm not sure, but like music, movies and Kramer, idgaf who makes it as long as it's good to me, everyone else can cram their opinions back up their ass

Oh shit my grandma has one of these. Was the first rifle I ever shot. The action on it is so bizarre, but I live it! I remember though nearly sending the magazine rod down range when it slipped from my hands right before I went to turn it and I caught it by the plunger. Such a cool little gun.

How do you like that thumb hole stock? Saw pic related at cabelas today and it piqued my interest on upgrading my stock 10/22 with a new stock and maybe bull barrel.

Attached: 20190321_153652-1701x3024.jpg (1701x3024, 880K)

I love mine. Found it on armslist with a cracked plastic stock. Found a wood one on eBay and it’s be my favorite gun ever since.

what is it

Attached: 20190314_205917-1.jpg (4320x1157, 3.39M)

What's that rifle in the top row third from the left? Looks aesthetic as fuck

Attached: 1528408266185.jpg (640x972, 43K)

Is that a problem, bigot?

>ProMag anything is shit
Their VFG is the best of the shitty VFGs though

.17hmr will make the squirrels explode, so it depends what you want.

What breed is that? Looks like a BIG dachshund

Can anyone recommend a good bolt action .22 preferably with wood furniture? I’m getting a little bored with my 10/22 but I’m too poor to shoot anything more expensive than .22.

They're comfy, I like it okay. I prefer a lighter stock though so that one rarely gets shot, I shoot the one in the Magpul stock more.

You should be able to find Yukon or Barracuda style stock in lots of different guises online for about $50 less. They are a bit heavy though and the butt drops very low, which suits the original purpose; they're silhouette stocks typically used with heavy barrels shot offhand.

Feather AT-22

Pretty neat gun, lots of plastic, super duper lightweight, 20 round mags standard but can fit cheap 8 round AR7 mags if they're cut with a new mag catch.

Wait what, those are actually out in the US? I thought they were still in importer limbo. They're sold out everywhere now--did one batch get through or something? Post pics ffs!

Attached: feather at22.jpg (1900x1267, 822K)

the best

Attached: calicoM100.jpg (1600x1195, 1.23M)

What .22 AR pistol uppers are particularly well regarded? I want something very lightweight

My dad bought me one of these for my 18th birthday. I can not get this fucking thing to cycle. I feel bad for wanting to get rid of it, but it's been five years and this thing is taking up space in my safe. I love the sites, and it fits my manlet frame perfectly. Is there anything I can do to make this piece of shit work?

Attached: tc classic.jpg (800x495, 74K)

Who else has taken the top break pill?

Attached: IMG_20190309_032546597.jpg (2976x2976, 1.76M)

22LR may not cycle well depending on the type of ammo.

Try CCI target ammo

Looking for my first rifle (ausfag so bolts only). Guy at my lgs is pushing a Brno model 5. Would I be making a mistake? It's towards the top end of what I'd like to spend.

What's the handgun in the bottom middle that looks almost like a vz61 in .22?

Charter Arms Explorer II!

Wait a minute, its an AR7 pistol? Thats pretty sweet. Doesnt look like they are very easy to obtain though.

It's a cheap build and a fun toy.

Pump-action 22? I'm a C&Rfag so I like the older stuff, but the newer is probably better for modern shooting.

A few to consider that are newer and still cheap

* Henry's pump-action
* Remington 572
* Taurus/Rossi copies of Winchester 1890
* Any made by Noble
* Remington 121
* Winchester 62

I have a Springfield 87M that people try to pass off as a "Garand Trainer Prototype"

Fuck that thing is amazing. Moar pics.

Yep! It's an oddity and it looks neat but it's godawful unreliable and the trigger is really really horrendous.

Attached: exploder ii.jpg (2400x1600, 1.2M)

my remington model 12 is great. made in 1934, basically no finish left, still shoots fine. has eaten everything I've fed it. one double feed, but that was operator error.

Get back to me when 9mm is 5cpr.

This is gonna sound so fucking no guns but as a city raised boi I never have done "plinking". All I ever do is shoot at ranges and hunting. What is plinking? Shooting cans in the woods? Shooting random shit innawoods?

Thoughts Jow Forums?

Attached: IMG_20190307_145918[1].jpg (4320x2432, 1.92M)

Been wanting one of these, they look so fun. You enjoy it?

I like it, but I have really awful taste in guns.

Fuddlore. Seen squirrels shot with fuckin .308 and they're fine just missing the bit that got shot

Cans inna woods, shotgun shells, or 45acp/9mm shells, depending on how good you are and how hard you want to flex on your buddies.

Has anyone drilled a hole in the back of their 10/22 receiver to make cleaning the barrel and chamber easier?

Sounds so fun. I dunno if the park ranger near me would be upset cause I'm close to residential areas in the wildlife zone but I'd enjoy that. Probably just wanna bring a can of tennis balls though. Picking up cans sounds like a pain in the ass afterwards

recommendations for one .22 pistol and one .22 rifle me and my buddies can learn to shoot on?

>.22

10/22 or ruger american bolt action or savage bolt.
Mark iv, ruger single 6 or Smith and wesson model 41.

I'm loving the $14 dollar 500 rd bricks of Thunderturd ammo at Walmart. Aside being dirty my 10/22 eats it up just fine.

I LOCK N LOAD
MAH CALICO

Anyone else have these?

Attached: 973163.jpg (864x655, 50K)

No but now I want one

How interesting, just got home from class and felt like carrying my .22lr walther ppk.

I mean, I wish it was in .32acp so I could actually use it for self defense, but then again, I don't think I would be able to ruin those purdy bakelite grips.

Why am I such a sucker for Mannlicher stocks?

They pair exceptionally well with the SBX barrel as well. It's a short barrel that's legally 16"due to the addition of a silencer shroud on the end, so you only need one stamp for the can but retain a very compact rifle.

Attached: wm_12044384.jpg (1600x1200, 167K)

.17 HMR with either the 20gr FMJs that American Eagle sells, or 20gr XTPs from Hornady. The 17gr Vmax and 15.5gr NTX assplode critters too much.

You can get pretty close if you get lead wheel weights for free and cast your own bullets, scrounge up range brass or just keep reusing your own (I've heard stories where the same brass lasts over a dozen loadings, as long as you don't load crazy high pressure loads). At that point you're just paying for primers and powder...but even then it would average out to like 7-8 cpr (and that's being generous).

Honestly I'd still just keep buying factory new bulk 9mm (be it Wolf steel for 14 cpr or S&B/Remington/whatever for 16-17 cpr) and saving reloading for more expensive or unobtainium milsurp rounds.

Primers alone cost more than the cheapest bulkpack .22lr (primers are 3c per, cheapest .22 right now is 2.7cpr). However, in 9mm, even using a hot charge of the most expensive pistol powder which you get gouged on in an brick n' mortar store buying by the pound, you're looking at under 2 cents per.

For example, my current 9mm plinking load:
>Berry's plated 124gr TC
Roughly 7c per when I bought them years ago (I buy 100k at a time)
>Tula small pistol primer
I bought 25k of these in 2008 when they were 2c each shipped ($19.98 per k with free shipping and waived hazmat on orders over $200)
>2.8gr Titegroup
This is a mild target load, but it reliably cycles all my guns. I paid $127 shipped for an 8lb jug, so (7000gr*8lbs=56,000gr for $127 or 0.226 cents per grain), so 0.63 cents per charge
Call it 10cpr.

If I were to buy all new components today I'd have to use a bare cast lead bullet to get anywhere near that price, but it's doable.
>MBC Smallball 124gr RN, $28.35/500 shipped after military discount= 5.7c per
>Fiocchi small pistol primers, $31.49/1500 or 2.1c before shipping/roughly 2.6c after shipping
>2.8gr titegroup, $158.50 per 8lb shipped or ~0.8c per charge
