F-22s have actually flown over Iran but that wont be made public for at least 10 years or so

Funny that the typhoon costs more than an F35 and is merely 4th gen lmao hello europe job project

Why risk one of your most costly assets when an F-15 is more than good enough against most opponents?

because they want to avoid the embarrassment when one of them gets shot down.
>F-22s have actually flown over Iran but that wont be made public for at least 10 years or so
LOL'd fucking hard. Those magical Amerimutt planes that fly all over denied airspaces but it's all a secret. kek.

F-22
>dabs on brown people
EF-2000
>dabs on brown people
Rafale
>dabs on brown and black people. Causes a multitude of anger amongst Indians

>F-22
>designing a non multi-role aircraft after the Cold War
>making adding capabilities an expensive clusterfuck

It was designed from the blue print stage to either house amraams or jdams, it was meant to be both an air superiority fighter and a replacement for the F-117. The F-22 is the most unchanged fighter from its original design in the US inventory.

Well, unlike the F-22 both Rafale and Eurofighter are still being built.

F-22 got BTFO over Syria by Su-35S.

Attached: 1524627201619.jpg (1080x1080, 158K)

Lockheed's original design was some delta-canard aircraft before the Air Force went full muh stealth canabalizing all other capabilities for it.

Also the Advanced Tactical Fighter was always a air superiorty fighter and nothing more.

Attached: F-22_RFI.jpg (470x744, 232K)

You're confusing two different fighter proposal programs. The YF-22 prototype was designed from the get go to fill the stealth air superiority fighter program, and proposed for the air force, and little other than stability was changed from the YF-22 to the A model.

>fake news and absurd fantasies of the vatnik

Attached: 70702430-psychosis-and-background-of-medicaments-composition-stethoscope-mix-therapy-drugs-doctor-an (1300x867, 153K)

Yes, the YF-22 was a flying prototype for the ATF program for a next generation air superiority fighter, the F-22 was never supposed to fill any role than the air superiority role. Something you can't blame the F-22 for it that it does the job it was designed for but at the end of the day it was why the Bush admintration killed it early on.

Well, you don't need an F-22 to bomb shit on the ground all that often, and air superiority is only good for those sick escort missions since the US doesn't have airborne enemies.

it was all over the media last year you dumb nigger. Su-35S sunk up on F-22 from the top and F-22 pilot was oblivious to it.

Attached: 1527736792988.jpg (1080x1080, 142K)

Well, it's true that Albert C. Piccirillo the leader of the ATF program changed the requirements for a next-gen air superiorty to focus on stealth characteristics in 1985. Stealth was supposedly the main selling point (the old "gamechanger" PR) to get the necessary budget.

Until 1985 Lockheed's design indeed deployed a canard-delta combination.

It’s a fighter jet for a country that no one is willing to fight their jets

God you're dumb

It's sad how much of the ATF stuff got canceled.

So the F-22 was basically that stlealthy thing which can't even effectively communicate with other friendly air assets.

God you're butthurt. kek
Both sides confirmed the incident but had different accounts (no shit). Only Russian pilot provided targeting photos, however.

Anyway, F-22 got BTFO and will get BTFO again when there's an another encounter.

Reminder that the USA has only 186 F-22 in service.

That's not a lot.

Didn't a bunch also get wiped out by a natural disaster?

God you're dumb

That's 186 more 5th gen fighters than Russia has

>air superiorty fighter
>can't even load the best NATO BVRAAM
>can't even load the best NATO WVRAAM

Attached: Meteor-Missiles.jpg (1680x640, 477K)

And even with all these planes, the US got invaded and conquered. What does that tell you about their utility?

L-band radar killed stealth.

Attached: 1526621082711.jpg (957x1151, 111K)

that... doesn't look like an F-22 at all, the wings are pointy and swept back too far, it's more like a Chinese J-31 or the Russian's own Su-57

How does Eurofighter stack against F/A-18C? Is the euro that big of an upgrade to justify the overhaul of the entire airforce of a nation? (Finland)

it's F-22 allright.

Attached: 1533425540293.jpg (786x616, 88K)

Yes

The F-18s are also over 20 years old which means that they are pretty much dead.

>This variant of Su-35 is equipped with an L-band radar. The F-22A is much more visible to L-band radar.

>RCS of an aircraft increases as wavelength of the illuminating radar increase. This means an F-22A head on might have an RCS of 0.0001 against an X-band radar, but much greater RCS for an L-band radar. The low RCS values quoted for F-22A STEALTH aircraft are cited for X-band radars, not L-band.

>These Su-35S aircraft use Tikhomirov NIIP (L-band N036L-1-01) AESA radar to track STEALTH aircraft. The incident however happened in daylight and the location may have been obvious from the Su-25 being harassed.

Attached: 1529461793765.jpg (790x1309, 116K)

The F-22 has done bombings runs before. What has the eurofighter done?

>believing IR could look that good.

The Eurofighter is actual pretty active in Yemen.

>can literally see luneberg lens in photos

xaxaxa amerikanski is finished

It does. Look at his instagram feed. B-52, F-16... he has intercepted a bunch of planes over Syria. Has lots of pics.

Attached: 1528426245244.jpg (743x929, 66K)

Makes me wonder how butthurt the F-22 pilots were after being forced to drop unguided bombs on runways like a dirty fighter-bomber pilot.

That's from a Rafale. ANd those are not Lunenberg lenses.

>The French victory over the F-22 occurred in November 2009. A squad of F-22s from the Air Force’s 1st Fighter Wing in Virginia flew to Al Dhafra, in the UAE, to train with French air force Rafale fighters and Typhoon jets from the British Royal Air Force.

>"US Doesn't have that many operational 5th gen fighters!"
>Russia has no operational 5th gen fighters
>"M-muh mutts!"

Attached: 1549426638696.jpg (960x952, 37K)

Russia isn't relevant.

It's vatnik cope. Pathetic isn't it.

>186 stealth planes vs 1.5 million migrants
who wins?
the answer is obvious.
so far the stealth planes have been as useful as tits on a bull for actual defense of the US.

Dead as in the airframes are flown to the to the end of their life? Or do you mean obsolete technology?

I'm just wondering if the F18 could be fitted with newer radar and adapted for newer AA missiles. Not that there is anything wrong with the current AIM 120. Though the Meteor has pretty ballsy claims.

But really I'm thinking if the plane has any impact really... for all I know we could fire the missiles off a cessna and the outcome would noty change

There is mostlikely no airframe lifetime left.

>"F-22 isn't that good!"
>"T-they only have 186 of them!"
>"B-but... but... I-immigrants! Immigrants, I tell you!"
How many vaporware 5th generation sukhoi abortions is it going to take to solve your AIDS epidemic, vodkanigger?

>The Pentagon dishonestly claimed

What is this editorialized bullshit rag and why are you wasting my time

This kills the Vatniks.

Attached: images (26).jpg (530x579, 38K)

>According to Russian accounts
>Russian and US accounts... differ vastly
>The Pentagon dishonestly claimed
>Su-25
>Su-35
>chased off
Yeah ok buddy.

lol, it's not even a rag. It's a Quora post.

That Indian honeypot? Could he of picked a worse source.

Well then, that is certainly the most brazen shitpost i've seen in a while.

Damn.. OK then. For simple economic/political reasons I wish Finland will choose the Saab. Simply maybe they will build the planes in Finland and maybe some of that knowhow bleeds over... though I have no idea what we would do with that knowhow. Finland doesn't have any active business in the field anymore as far as I know

well what kind of pilot would just sit there with radar lock on him?

Buying the Eurofighter always means to be in a better position to move to the French-German next generation aircraft.

>F-22s
>dropping unguided bombs

Are you literally this dumb?

Vatniks eternally BTFOed

Should have bought the Eurofighter.

Lets be real here

An F-22 harassing an Su-25 is the Su-25 being deleted.

Attached: 1541852559438.jpg (570x500, 36K)

Lets say that it even is true.

Russia is having to boast wildly that they even SAW an F-22. As though this is an unusual event.

Do you realise how pathetic that is? When your crowning achievement is OMG WE ACTUALLY SPOTTED ONE. ONCE. A SINGLE TIME. WE SO GOOD.

How can you even hope to win a war in the air when years of ops and struggles produces a single SPOT on an aircraft in an environment where it really isn't hiding anyway?

All this does is show how NATO is operating in a different league to Russia in the air. And thats if it even is true at all.

Ops in Libya, Iraq, Syria, Yemen. It's done quite a lot.

What the fuck guys, stop bullying the mutts.

a luneberg lens has no effect on an IR mssile kill and a gun kill, which is what those two image sets are showing.

Plus air policing in the Baltic Mediterranean and Atlantic.

>IR image of an F-22 from a close distance
>talking up Russian radars

?

Obligatory, It's not the plane, It's the missiles post.

/thread

and the Flanker was spotted 20 to 30 miles out.

The point of the article? If they can't detect the aircraft outside of the range of our AA missiles, it means nothing.

From the same country that fakes images like this? Going to be a hard pass from me

Attached: satellite_overlay01.jpg (1920x997, 340K)

The source is an obviously fake Instagram account and it was circulated by clickbait sites.

>The Su-25 has a very limited operating ceiling, no more than 25,000ft.
So, about that airliner...

The country didn't fake that image, it was put out by some random podunk local news network and then the international media jumped on it and presented the image as if it came straight from russian high command.

You fell for obvious propaganda you gullible retard.

Attached: Rafale_vs_F22.jpg (1186x614, 158K)

Also this

Attached: 1447993232645_0.jpg (1250x513, 158K)

I only see them mentioning it being the Russian Channel One posting it as the truth and them saying it is comfirmed by the Russian Union of Engineers. Step off the vodka Armatard it's not going to cure your aids.

Funny that of the three aircraft the F-22 is the newest.

source

Well, too bad they didn't sell the F-22 to allies.

Lmao this Russian anger. You literally get paid to post disinformation on an anime website. Shut the fuck up.

The Rafael in this video never got a solid guns solution and French pilots that participated in the exercise confirmed that the results were 1 win for the F-22 and 5 draws.

>5 draws against a 4th gen
OH NO NO NO NO NO

>The Rafael in this video never got a solid guns solution

Not a frogposter, but that line crossing the F22 and being held there means that it's a gun kill.

In BFM the most important factor is the pilot.

Snapshots probably weren’t considered kills for the exercise if we are to believe the frenchies who participated and confirmed the results that I’m currently parroting.

>Snapshots probably weren’t considered kills for the exercise

If the pilot pulls the trigger in that position then the laser training system will record a kill on the F22.

Not that a couple of simulated kills in a training exercise mean anything in isolation.

>being this Russian

>Causes a multitude of anger amongst Indians
kek

Holy shit ameristench scum are seething over this.

>they don't name them AIM anymore
why bother living

Russia is only good for making vacuum tubes.

Attached: 2805setug82.jpg (360x480, 41K)

Because Top Gun might as well be fiction.

Why the fuck would a billion dollar fighter jet be dropping bombs it was never designed to do?

Especially its price tag for maintenance let alone Battle Damage from Ground Fire.

AIM is a US designation. If it entered service with the US (as it should but much like Brimstone the US would rather spend extra money to produce a worse domestic version for muh jobs) then it would get an AIM number. ASRAAM got AIM-132 since the US planned to adopt it but then shit the bed. Meteor might be AIM-140 or AIM-142

B2 was never designed for COIN yet ended up doing it. (and actually does cost a billion dollars)

Because sometimes you need stealth to get close enough to blow up the anti air defenses.

This thread is full of triggered americum.

It's training. Rafale pilot called fox2 early on in the fight and that would have ended it if missile shots were counted, later on he had f-22 on his crosshair close to 10s while the f-22 pilot was derping around killing his energy with high-aoa maneuvering, rafale pilot didn't call that shot (I don't know if those training laser systems were used in this excercise) and let the training continue. Rafale then reacquired another good firing solution right as both of the planes crossed the virtual ground level and that ended that training session. That was counted as a tie with the final "score" of that day 1-5-0 for F-22 and hopefully pilots learning something useful. USAF later sperged out that F-22 would have obviously won with bigger number if it hadn't been handicapped with the external fuel tanks it was carrying that were invisible to the Rafale's IR and HUD videorecording that were leaked after that statement

Do you trigger americum with a patriot massage?

I love how people just plain telling lies because they are butthurt that that something American got beaten
