> TL;DR or fuck off I don't speak frog: commando missions to rescue four hostages (2 french soldiers, one american woman, one korean woman, not it's not a pornhub tittle) lead by France in Burkina Faso. They achieved the mission but lost 2 commando... against only 4 sandniggers.
wow, my local swat team could have done it without any casualties.

why does two dying mean they suck? there's only so much you can do
Jason Russell
NEWSFLASH human beings die like other human beings! 'Special Ops', rangers, seals, 'spetznaz' are all just human beings who can be killed.
Jaxon Garcia
And after they say "you can't fight a gov with only rifles". Of course you can. Just make sure you're a better shot than the average sandnigger and it's enough
Colton Cruz
Against 4 niggers with AK47 ? You really can't avoid losing two of your guys ? Commando Hubert is supposed to be the best of the best in France.
How about trying to set a trap with fake ransom ? Go for a night raid ? Use gases ? Snipers ?
How about not asking soldiers to Leroy Jenkins into action ?
Xavier Williams
There were those Kung Fu movies he watched as a kid that were filmed in the early 70's about the Boxer Rebellion. Chang thought they really could be bullet proof if they could focus their Chi enough. Didn't work out.
>Well actually burgers apparently helped during the operation. That’s probably what caused the two deaths
Ian Stewart
Nah, using aerosolized fenatyl is a level of stupidity that can only be surpassed by not then telling the responding paramedics that you’ve just effectively administered every victim a potential lethal dose of opioids.
Damn, the one on the left looks like your typical nice guy total chad. Great loss.
Ryder Myers
Apparently, they were both both from Commando Hubert, France's tier 1 Naval SOF. The guy on the left was born 1986 and with Commando Hubert since2012, the guy on the right 1991 and since 2017.
A particularly unpleasant part of an extremely shit continent.
Yes I know the French speaking bits of Africa are still essentially run by Paris but there's no need for westerners to risk life and limb over that absolute mess of a continent and the idiots that inhabit it.

>Le commando Hubert est l'un des sept commandos marine de la Marine nationale française, considéré comme le plus prestigieux d'entre eux et comme l'unité de forces spéciales la plus sélective et la plus complète de toute l'Armée française.
The commando Hubert is one of the 7 naval commando units of the French navy, considered as the most prestigious of them and the most selective and complete special forces unit of the entire French military.
Commando Hubert has quite a history including with hostage rescue. That they lost 2 of their men is weird, I doubt the whole story is being told right now.
>That they lost 2 of their men is weird, I doubt the whole story is being told right now. So what ? They fell to "friendly bullets" from burger allies ?

I think you must be absolutely retarded

1) Because the hostages wouldn't be there 2) It was a night raid 3) It's not a fucking cartoon 4) They did have snipers

The sad thing is I had pretty good starting conditions but I just didn't manage to beat mental illness. What can you do...it is what is. If only I had the courage to kms.

>Special ops >France Yea those frenchies probably shat thenselves when they actually went under real gunfire. >Things like this happend becuase they are inexperienced, but most importantly pussies who cant keep their cool.
They saved all of the hostages, sounds like a successful mission to me.
Nathan Nguyen
It says they were fighting against 6 guys? >m.leparisien.fr/international/deux-otages-francais-liberes-au-burkina-deux-soldats-tues-dans-l-operation-10-05-2019-8069265.php I read that they killed 4 guys, and freed 4 hostages; 2 frogs, a burger, and a worst Korean. It also says they were trying to avoid a gunfight >According to François Lecointre, chief of staff and general of the army, the two soldiers were killed "at a very short distance by two of the kidnappers" while they mounted the assault "without opening fire to not make losses ". This attack was launched to prevent the transfer of hostages to jihadists Katiba Macina, an armed jihadist group operating in Mali. This isn't a video game where they get bonus points for saving hostages. I think that a lot of people on Jow Forums want to believe "operators" are demigods who can get out of every situation. They don't appreciate how precarious the shit these guys do is, or how many of the local "allies" get killed as part of these missions. For how often these guys are fighting without the public even knowing about it, the only surprise is that it doesn't happen more often.
Bentley King
When replying "frogposter" is your only counter argument, because of your insecurities.
This thread is retarded. Real operations are random and chaotic shit can happen at any minute. You being spec op doesnt stop a bullet from entering your body. If we are going by that logic because of the Linda Norgrove shit navy seals are bottom of the barrel
Cooper Martinez

Indeed, especially considering one of the saved hostages was American.

Screencap of an SF user explaining the difficulties of DA, hostage rescue and how shit can be hard and go wrong so easily just in training.
>I think that a lot of people on Jow Forums want to believe "operators" are demigods who can get out of every situation. Jow Forums also believes their good to go for at least ranger battalion simply for owning a PSA rifle and having shot it at some metal refrigerators out in a field last quarter.
Don't come here during the day for good commentary. Don't come here ever for commentary on actual big army shit at all, honestly.

>against 4 sandniggers It's 4 hostages, not enemies. They saved 4 hostages: 2 french guys, plus two other women they didn't know were there (one american and one south korean).
First the general talks about the intelligence and logistics that were needed to even locate the two hostages that were caught a few days ago. They were in a moving group so they had to wait until they set camp to lauch the operation. It was the last chance to do so before they crossed the border so they had to move pretty boldly.
>[...]then the commando were deployed for a infiltration, by night. The objectives were four shelters in an open zone. The special force commandos infiltrated in the middle of the night from a distance of 200 yards, in absolute silence, despite a sentry that didn't detect them during their approach. >then, and I want to stress that point, the commandos enter the shelters, obviously without openning fire. When they are detected they are about 10 yards from the shelters, they can hear the terrorist coking their guns inside the shelters. So they decide to assault the objectives, but they do so without openning fire to ensure they don't make casualties among the hostages or among any civilians or terrorist's family members that could be present in this encampment. This is when penetrating [sic] two of the shelters that two Marine commandos, Cédric de Pierrepont and Alain Bertoncello, were killed at very short range by two of the captors. >This is what we can say about this operations. As madam minister said, the captors that attempted to flea were shot, and four of those who attempted to fight were killed.
Unfortunately he doesn't go into much more details. Since apparently they didn't use their guns to prevent collateral damage, I'm curious about how exactly they attacked. Did they have non lethal weaponry or did they try to bum rush the terrorists with knives?
Call me French all you want, but that seems quite hard to pull off without losses.
Indeed, I listened to the interview that follows and it's made clearer. What's even more impressive is that they had no idea the US and Korean hostages were even here.

The US shouldn't have a say in hostage rescues after SEALs intentionally fragged one of their hostages.
