I have the bug out and a paramilitary 2, as well as other popular knives from different manufacturers. get a bench made freek if you want a tactical style knife that’s super practical.

Bug out is nice but scales are thin plastic and it’s small. Pm2 blade is light and really thin. It doesn’t inspire confidence for hard use. I use my knives pretty hard, and I’ve carried all of them to work.

A recon 1 is a good choice too if you don’t mind sanding down the scales a bit.

Punching/stabbing with a pocket folding knife is probably the only last ditch weapon I would come up with, so if I'm lucky, a benchmade 710 or kizlyar whisper, if not, I'm maybe going to leave few scratches with a grip. Don't really carry anything else lately.

Google Shomer-Tec ventilator. You can get it past a metal detector and it can poke a guy in such a way that they can't fix it with stitches. Can be bought for the cost of dinner at McDonald's on Amazon.

LEO here, let me clarify on this a little bit.

Many states/municipalities have laws regarding the length of knives, but also the style. In NY, for instance, a stiletto would be illegal because it is considered a dagger (edged on both sides), and would either be too long in NYC (Over 4in blade), or if a smaller folder, would probably fall under Gravity Knife or Switchblade.

If it didn't fall under any of those, but your reason for carrying it is "Self Defense", then you are carrying it with the intent to use it, and it is therefore illegal.

"It looks cool" would be good, though, if it wasn't illegal in any other way.
