Then, 5 years later, a Spanish dude invaded the Falklands and forcibly occupied the islands. After a while, the Spanish got bored and pissed off and Britain returned to their rightful lands until the 1980s when the Argentinians tried again to steal the land and got wrecked.
So basically, the French have more of a right to the islands than the Argentinians do. Not to mention that literally everyone on the islands is British and actively supported the British troops during the war,

Personally, I find it to be one of the most interesting conflicts of the 20th century. Hard to explain why it's so interesting but I've read quite a few books about the conflict and love looking at pictures of the war.
