Or cow girls, post those old west styled guns user. Today I finally decided on 44 mag or 4570 in a brass single shot henry. I bought them both. Should be here by Tuesday.

I want to buy this gun. SxS by CZ. A "coachgun". The only thing I don't like about it is that stupid tang safety, but at least it doesn't engage automatically.

I don't have any cowboy guns yet, but I've been reading up on leather work so I can make my own holsters when I need them.

Does anyone make a sxs shotgun that ejects shells? It's fuckin gay the fiddle around with empties one by one

Yeah, like, every double-barrel manufacturer does.
Are you even looking?

Y'all been playing RDR2 too?

No, I've always been into cowboy guns.

Me too, but it seems everyone's been stepping up their cowboyness when the game came out

Maybe I'm not looking at the right manufacturers. I see a shit ton with extractors, but not ejectors

Off the top of my head, baikal does.

BP Wheelies.
I like the 51 so much I'm thinking about a Mason Conversion instead of a Peacemaker.

Good. Maybe more scholfields will come to market.

Same. Also considering making myself a "blacksmith" conversion, because I am a basic primitive fuck just like most of the western settlers.

Attached: 1851-blacksmith-conversion1.jpg (1632x1224, 751K)

Although my understainding is that the vast majority of civvie Masons were not really conversions, but sold as-new that way.
If I do a blacksmith conversion, it won't be quite as crude as this one.

Octagonal or Round barrels for lever actions?

Does .45-70 bfr count as cowboy gun?

As for caliber, my Spaghetti Western 51 is a .36 with a groove diameter of something around .37mumble, so I'm either using hollow base .38 or chambering for .41LC, which exists now only as something you reload yourself.

Early settler aesthetic vs late settler aesthetic.

LOL no, but a Dragoon does.

Big Mike says there is commercially available hollow-base .38spl out there. These acksmith conversions are really interesting, thanks for posting them.
Plus Clint Eastwood carried one in the Dollars trilogy, so that is also pushing me.

How safe is cast lead for cowboy guns? I thought about melting some bricks down and casting them into bullet molds to save up on costs.

But apparently according to this, its likely to explode your gun.

I hope someone breaks your fuckin legs with that abortion

Whats wrong with it?

Its fine unless you shoot massive amount and clog the rifling and then shoot high pressure jacketed.

Okay, you're probably not going to get a realistic answer. I've tried asking this in different gun-centric places over the years. The best answers I've found so far is that; when you first start shooting it if it's not a hammer forged barrel it can have some defects and you want to shoot jacketed bullets or solid copper through it. So if the barrel gets the rifling cut it can get some nicks, copper rubs off and fills in the nicks. When you try to clean out the gun and their is lead fouling and you use a solvent that gives off a green color, you hit the copper lining you started with and it's clean enough not to worry about that so much.
Nobody will say do that, but it's sort of what I've inferred about it. If you look down the barrel with a light or whatever and you can't really see any lead fouling, and the green copper thing is showing. Although trying that you might want to shoot more copper than lead and be really thorough about cleaning it. Maybe it's just 'bro science' kind of a thing, if you want to get autistic about it.

Would you have your cowboy guns as your EDC?
youtube.com/watch?v=mzHs2G2jhYw

Depends on the rifling.
Logcabinlooms is your go to guy for cast lead cowboy loads.

Funny, I have actually done some "research" on that topic over the last days.
The main argument against SAA is the same as against revolvers in general, but apart from that you just need to drill the offhand thumb.
Lots of people who apparently (still) carry a SAA.

nothing
stay mad faggot

Problem is I can't find a SAA with a transfer bar here, so I'm stuck with 5 round carry loads.
The gunstores here are also too finicky to import those just for one customer unless I order in bulk.

I have almost all the bases covered.

Once I get a conversion cylinder I’ll be able to add 45lc to my collection and my basic cowboy action collection will be complete (sorry for buns pic quality)

Where do you live? You should be able to get a Ruger Blackhawk everywhere, or an Uberti Horseman or one of the newer Colt SAA generations.

What’s a good lever action with a loading gate? 45-70 or 30-30 wise, seems everyone has differ ideas

Sure.

Henry has a loading gate 3030 on the market now.

Marlin JM 336.

The way you type out cartridges is giving me an aneurysm.

>sluff

Gonna skeet shoot with it?

Opie,... ya dun goofed.
Threads starting with that image in the OP are supposed to be titled:
>"Ohai Sharpshots!"

please be more careful next time and do it properly.

Would you kindly fuck off with this nigger gun

Made a hat to go with this belt and holster.

Good.

>wanting ejectors
Lol

I like those cartridges

Two things... One, ther ewas nothing but cast lead available for pistols back in the day, and the 30-30 was the first smokeless-by-design cartridge intended for "metal patched" (jacketed) bullets.
Second, lots of people do this all the time. You won't find anything but cast lead at SASS meets, and the castboolits people have been shooting cast lead through milserps without issue for years.
As for leading your barrel... Stop shooting shit loads that lead your barrel. You have too much pressure or a poor fit between your bullet and barrel. Your groups will suck too. Choose a better load.
One last thing. My uncle and his friends would regularly fire a jacked round through there revolvers at the end of a day of shooting to "clean the lead from the barrel" and yet they lived to all die of old age. Three of those old boys had their ashes spread on the hill by our fave camping and shooting spot. I might visit them this weekend.

best budget single action spinny gun? i think i saw one for ~$130 at my big box gun store. idgaf as long as it works

Milkies!!!!!!

Ruger wrangler for 179. Save your shekels

those look fucking great. anything similar in .38?

No, if you can only spend 130$ on a revolver why the fuck are you considering a 38? Unless you reload, and cast your own lead you scrounge up, then my apologies.

you're not going to find any handgun in a caliber bigger than .22lr for less than 300 dollars unless it's garbage from a pawn shop

Add 10% tin and use wax gas checks. Voila no lead.

i didnt say only just that i saw one for that much. ill probably end up getting a gp100 4" 357 desu
i meant similar as in a single but in .38 not similar in price

I love my gp100 4 banger.

gunbroker.com/item/811001047

those Uberti Cattlemans come in .357 magnum which also takes .38 special

Page 10 save, get on it cowboys.

bump for the yeehaw conspiracy

>dual Schofield

Legends speak of how to achieve true Chadhoom .

This guy gets it

God I hope companies like Uberti make repros of Whitney rifles.
Generally things that aren't Winchester/Winchester clones, Marlin or Henry.

Not that I have anything against Winchester/Winchester clones, Marlin or Henry rifles, but it gets a little boring seeing racks upon racks of 73's and the like all day, everyday.

>Merwin and Hulbert replicas WHEN

As soon as we get desktop CNC mills.

no, ideally it's for us on goblins and baizuo

I wouldn't mind more Henrys, but only if it's also a Martini. Not a cowboy gun, I know, but .577/450...

Nice piece of shit, nigger poorfag. Kill yourself with it.

I'd break her action.

youre doing gods work

keep it up
