this is the same imbecile who believes you can replace the Bradlee, the Abrams, and the f35 by slapping a turret and wings onto a 113

when civilization collapses for the long term, you should have a flintlock for when you run out of modern ammunition

you can't make primers yourself, but black powder is pretty straightforward

There is no excuse to not have at least 50000 primers if you see the world going that way. And because of that one simple fact 45-70 is GOAT

>watching LindyBeige post-sponsor phase
shiggy diggy doo

He also said 7.62 is much more accurate than 5.56. Has he even ever shot a gun?

>listening to a noguns brit about anything military related

Yes!
But in very controlled environments under the watch of the gun owner
And only like twice

>fire arrows

> you don't need an assault rifle
Well done. You got me to watch just to see if he's that retarded.

Spoiler: he's not. First 10 minutes is basically him complaining how camoflauge, manuever warfare, and combined arms tactics have reduced the primacy of infantry and small arms. Well no shit.

Conversely, I could travel naked 2000 years into the past and start making black powder for the Romans to fuck up steppe-niggers with.

>hurr durr total collapse
Never happened, never will.

>could time travel

>Flintlock
>Not compression ignition
>Not piezo electric priming
>Not airgun
Even accepting the retarded premise that we will suddenly forget the basic chemistry required for shit like cordite and mercuric primers, flintlocks are shit.

Watched the first few minutes. He's not said anything controversial.

Per round fired muskets are more effective. musket balls are certainly more lethal than a rifle bullet at close range.

All lindy does is play devils advocate and make you think about things another way. if you've got autism or issues with reasoning then you might mistake this for him telling you incorrect facts.

Rome didn't fall in a day, it was a gradual slide into ruin that took 1000 years. Also the Eastern Empire kept chugging for the entire time until it eventually got muscled out by the Ottomans, and by that time Europe was starting to enter the renaissance.

Serious question, is lindy actually being paid to conduct disinformation?

So we're going to become Brazil/Balkans in the long term? Okay so how isn't that not "hurr durr total collapse" and a reason to have a flintlock or other low tech weapons?

I just saw this shit and came here to shitpost about it.

the nutter'n'fancy of Britain

nutnfancy is an af lt col tho.

yeah this comparison is bullshit. can you imagine having lindybeige next to you in combat? nutn might ramble on like an old man but you know he would get some shit done

This dude has never served in the military, doesn't even own guns, yet pretends to be an expert on warfare throughout all history.

Except nutnfancy is actually an excellent shot, and served in the military as a pilot. About 2000x more based than some noguns bong.

That painting isn’t the fall of Rome, retard. It’s from Thomas Cole’s “Course of Empire” series of paintings, and it depicts the growth and fall of an imaginary city.

That's not even Rome your retard, that's the penultimate piece in Cole's Course of Empire series. I don't know why you would have this file name with it. It's a fictional empire to be associated with a host of historic cultures and empires.
Granted you almost have a salient point insofar as Cole's intent to reflect American empire but it's clearly moreso with respect to America as the New Colossus and not a downer muh culture wars pipedream

Doomer*

Brazil and the Balkans are still capable of making primers.

>Neverserved no guns brit talks shit about something he doesn't know

Why do you autists watch his shit anyway?

I legitimately enjoy 90% of his content, He is a great storyteller and his vidss on ancient warfare are interesting. His knowledge of modern firearms and warfare however are sophomoric... and that being polite.

this faggot shot a rifle once a years ago in Switzerland, he doesnt know shit and talks a lot like most bongs.

Need? No. Want? Yes. Right to have? Yes.

Lindy's on point again. Infuriated dirt eaters will disagree because they cant hit a real target but they know deep down they're useless.

>He is a great storyteller and his vidss on ancient warfare are interesting. His knowledge of modern firearms and warfare however are sophomoric
That should probably make you doubt his expertise about ancient shit too.

It is sparks who said that, the guy you're replying to is a retard

>Has he even ever shot a gun?
>Nerd bong shooting
Take a wilde guess

Jesus fucking Christ I've heard Lindybeige say stupid things but this takes the cake

Please be trolling
>Per round fired muskets are more effective
Implying this matters at all when you can choose between firing 3 rounds per minute or 600.

>Musket balls are certainly more lethal than a rifle bullet
Imagine not understanding that the size of the projectile matters much less than energy delivered
Imagine thinking that getting shot with a musket is more dangerous than getting shot with .308

How is this incorrect?
Theoretically 7,62 can be much more accurate on long range.
Then we come to average ak vs average ar and ar wins only because it is not 40 to 50 years old

...

black powder's not even as easy as gunpowder.

That's not actually true.

Lindy is a fucking noguns. His knowledge is extremely limited and he doesn’t know as much as he pretends to.

>baseless conjecture man

Attached: 08f.jpg (720x751, 90K)

>a 2 MOA 7.62 m14 is more accurate than a sub-moa AR
I don't think you've even fired a gun before desu. Using a comma instead of a decimal is a dead giveaway that you're a Eurocuck. Post a gun, timestamped, right now, or get the fuck out

>Muh muskets are more effective weapons because they kill more people per ammo when you're standing at 50 yards away and are basically guaranteed to have half your guys killed instead of using tactics intended to keep the whole squad alive
This man needs to be euthanized for his own good.

animes where everyone's dubbed in English.

Even English would be hard and you would be an outsider to most people

Lindy is a spoiled brat from elite private school who doesn't work and lives off his dads money.

>He also said 7.62 is much more accurate than 5.56. Has he even ever shot a gun?
No, but he has a webley airgun, and recently went to a larp in Czech republic, where he fired several blanks.
He operator now.

The very first premise of the video is dead wrong, a 5.56 bullet will hit harder delivering far more energy than a lead ball from any 18th century musket. Even if you are going to be suborn and not look a single thing up before making a video, shouldn't the fact that modern rifles have 10 times the effective range of muskets tell you something about the difference in energy involved?

>Display cool gun
>get knifed by some poorfag peasant in your sleep

I always thought it would be pretty rad to go back in time and cure scurvy.

CERN should put lindy and bl*ke_on_the_range and potential history in a compact space to create such a density of pseudo knowlegde and self masturbating that a black hole emerges and kills us all
Prove me wrong

>Energy is the ONLY factor in weapon lethality
>Body armor? What the fuck is that?
>Prompt medical care? What the fuck is that?
>Differing levels of medical expertise? What the fuck is that?
>Antibiotics? What the fuck are those?

Lindy is a fucking idiot, but he has a point when you consider everything SURROUNDING the guns contributing to ultimate lethality. But the meta changed and muskets got powercreeped.

Language barrier aside you should at least be able to make soap out of nothing and if you can just wash your hands between patients you are already the greatest doctor of the time.

being effectively trained in archery is vastly more effective than modern guns and muskets.

lindy pls go and stay go

>pictographs
>inb4 he can't draw basic stick figures or attain loose dirt

>you should at least be able to make soap out of nothing
>which will undoubtedly impress people who have had soap since 3k BC and suddenly make you not useless somehow

Nobody made the connection between clean hands and higher survival rates until far later though.

um no
sheer volume of fire and accuracy at range begs to differ

Could you draw the process of making a simple firearm and black powder right now without Google, etc.?

Soap had medicinal uses from its inception they just didn't understand why this was and if you want back in time and told them that there were invisible organisms living on/in their bodies you probably wouldn't get very far before everyone decided that you were an idiot and what are you going to do to prove them wrong?

pretty sure he's talking about the 7.62x39 and not 7.62 nato. The 7.62x39 is trash at long range no one debates that. 7.62 Nato on the other hand is still pretty great, though it is showing its age. Also You're retarded anyway for comparing an milspec gun to a precision AR. Buying or bulding sup MOA 308s is pretty common in the civilian markets. (yes i know 308 and 7.62 nato arent the same but you can still get sub moa perfomance @100 with the 7.62 nato easily)

The infantry block was a defensive measure to protect soldiers from calvary. Skirmishers would harass, snipe, and generally fuck infantry over but would need to fall back or square up if facing a force of Calvary.
The decisive block engagement was a sub-optimum stance to use against other infantry.

Also 400m is well within range of assault rifles, in general 900m is called the effective range for massed assault rifle fire. However riflemen are more than able if supported when shooting of hitting targets out pass 1,200m or more with accuracy and speed.

Because its far deeper than that.
So you have hands, tools and materials.
If you wash your hands, the tools and materials are still not sterile.
If you wash the tools, the hands and materials are not sterile.
If you sterilize or sanitize the material, you still infect it when the hands or tools touch it.

Washing hands is essentially 1/3 of a full circle that needs to be broken to get anywhere.
Its generally broken in cooking, because a big part of food preparation is using it when its fresh(blood, innards), or preserving it via indirect sterilization(osmosis i.e curing), or by letting bacteria do its job so there isn't anything left to eat(milk alcohol, pickles, kimichi, ANY alcohol, etc).
Washing hands is also different from just cleaning the hands. In a lot of tradecrafts you could just rinse your hands to their original color, but they would still carry pathogens and bacteria.

Attached: Drinking_and_Talking.jpg (645x655, 50K)

Wouldn't you bring back a bunch of modern mutated diseases and effectively wipe out most of the population, colonial style?

Yes he has and it was as pathetic as you can imagine

>he said 7.62 is more accurate than 5.56
>so he must mean 7.62x39
Are you slow?

Do you really expect some retard who just saves images off doomer threads to understand anything about Thomas Cole's work, or any artist for that matter?

Attached: 854px-Cole,_Thomas_-_Der_Pokal_des_Riesen_-_hi_res_-_1833.jpg (854x1024, 300K)

This guy's show is supposed to be comedy, right?
Like a parody of the History Channel, but everything he says is wrong?

i would take one 'beige over 100 of you fags

No the theme of the channel is this

7,62 IS more accurate.

>2019
>listening to a dance instructor's opinion on guns/anything
imagine being you

Are you a dirty third worlder?

They would torture you as a witch or spy or something and then throw your body into the lake.

Witch hunts only got big in the 1600s and only among Protestants.

Nah, other way around. Diseases get less dangerous as time goes on, not more. Viruses don't want to kill you for the same reason you don't want to burn your house down.

They got big then, but trials for witchcraft were certainly not a new idea.

Regular prosecution and suppression of witchcraft was. The idea of pre-Englightenment people being grugposters who would kill you in a second for doing something unusual is pure propaganda.

That's sparky. Lindy has no opinion on the modern US military. But I suspect this is a brilliant troll.

>SPANDAU
He had a valid point in that video. And it has only gotten stronger since the USMC and the British army dumped the belt fed SAW in favor of other weapons.

>USMC and the British army dumped the belt fed SAW in favor of other weapons.
Wasnt that for budget reasons ?

>Wasnt that for budget reasons ?
That's not the case for the Marines The IAR program wasn't cheap. It was my understanding that the British decided that platoon GPMGs were more effective and that 7.62 battle rifles given to designated marksmen in a squad were more useful for them.

Attached: sharpshooter.jpg (634x330, 44K)

You can make primers or you will trade with those who can.

June 11, 2034 would like a word with you.
But you just keep the faith that those who have no fear of war, plague or famine will keep this world as you now know it.

That itself is a fallacy. The Crichton Fallacy. Just because a reporter is wrong about something you know about does not mean that all reporters are wrong about things you don't know about.

The more you know the more you understand how ignorant you are.
Think of a subject you know and how long it took you to understand that subject. Now you know not only how little you know about your subject but how much you don't know about every other subject you didn't spend the time learning.

Also, most reporters are wrong about gun shit because the minutiae of gun details simply doesn't interest. And many of those who do know a bit about guns purposefully simplify things because they believe most people don't know oir don't care. And thirdly, editors cause errors and over-simplification all the time as they cut down articles to fit available space.
The truth, as always, is more complex than an infographic on Jow Forums would have you believe.

>The IAR program
The IAR is just an off the shelf MK 416. How exactly do you replace a belt fed machine gun with a slightly more expensive and cool-running rifle...? I smell Obama-officer-corps bullshit.
