yeah

>mfw I can join the military at 18 and drive a vehicle but I can’t legally buy a pistol or drink some vodka
What kind of horseshit is this? Fucking soccer moms.

>can’t legally buy a pistol
blame inner city gang wars
>drink some vodka
somewhat practical. kids still drink, but this prevents plenty of young people from drunk driving or fucking their development with binge drinking

based yeahposter
The senate is now trying to raise the age for tobacco products to 21 too
Say goodbye to juulgang

Fuck those clowns, the more they kill each other the better. The rest of the planet barring Islamic shitholes also have the drinking age at around 18 and do just fine. Hell even Japan has it at 20. That excuse is gun grabber tier.
I don’t even care about smoking but that is ridiculous. Fucking ban happy cunts, getting tired of this shit.

don't worry user
it's a bipartisan bill sponsored by Tim Kaine and Mitch (the boomer) McConnell

>blame inner city gang wars
lol no

Just graduated USCG bootcamp a couple days ago.
If anyone considering going has some questions I'll be happy to answer.

What job? Also what are the chances of going TACLET?

boo fucking hoo, you have to wait a few years to drink. it reduces the amount of drunk drivers on the road
>The rest of the planet barring Islamic shitholes also have the drinking age at around 18 and do just fine
less people drive in Europe, and if look into the data even Europe has problems associated with a lower drinking age
>That excuse is gun grabber tier.
It's not, teenagers don't have an inalienable right to alcohol
you can't practically use alcohol to defend yourself or prevent someone from committing a crime
using guns lawfully doesn't harm the user, alcohol does

21 is a reasonable age for drinking privileges

What was it like in general? Did it have a more militaristic style of training, or was it a little more relaxed comparatively speaking due to the more maritime police/defense role the Coast Guard has for the most part?
>it reduces the amount of drunk drivers
Except it doesn’t. Prohibition does nothing but make more people interested in what is restricted or banned, especially in the US. Also leads to bad habits down the road, and the age increase had next to nothing to deal with the lowering of drunk driving. Regardless if you can sign up to go overseas of your own accord and potentially get your legs blown off or some other bad shit happening while also being able to get a drivers license then certainly you can be trusted enough to have a beer. Teaching people how to handle alcohol will do much better overall.

CS.
As for any law stuff the only guys I know going to port security units or straight to ME A school were reservists.
You'll probably have to come in the normal way and express to your command at your first unit you want to do it though they should be able to help out, then after your 4 months at your first unit you can put your name on the ME A school list. Even after that you'll have to attend other C schools and be a good performer to get selected.
At best I think a recruiter might be able to get you a confirmed district somewhere where there's a lot drug interdiction. That way you get some experience in as a non-rate.

It does lower the amount of drinking and driving. Stop being stubborn and lazy, there is plenty of data that shows this is the case. I'm not going to derail the thread further. You have your opinions, the data isn't in your favor.

Another reminder that these threads are run by recruiters and shills who want you to fight foreign wars for Gulf shitholes and Israel.

Attached: coffinsoutdoors.jpg (190x151, 26K)

Another reminder that people who make these types of replies are foreigners who want to weaken the US and idiots who's understanding of foreign policy is equivalent to imperialism = BAD or jews/ muslims = BAD

It's one thing to make a serious attempt at discussing the ethics of US foreign policy or the risks associated with joining, but these low effort US military counter signal posts are tiring

Another, another reminder that people who make these types of replies to replies are alt-righters who want to make the United States into an imperialist capitaliat patriarchal hierarchy on the rest of the world.

>an imperialist capitalist patriarchal hierarchy
what's wrong with wanting to live in a functional society?

Some people just like war man. Doesn’t matter who it’s against.

>what's wrong with wanting to live in a functional society?
it's the best way to ruin the economy and the US global standing, but I wouldn't expect someone with a smooth brain to understand that

What's the chance of dying for Israel as a coastie

how soon can I apply to get lasik eye surgery through the Army and what is the process like? Ive been waiting a few years to have them pay for it and I dont want to wear those ugly thiccc black rimmed glasses for my career

Attached: 1450837900027.jpg (465x509, 36K)

>how soon can I apply to get lasik eye surgery through the Army
you can do it after basic

0%, you'll have a higher chance of alcohol abuse

You're retarded. Successful societies are patriarchal, hierarchical, and use markets(capitalism). What you call global standing is mainly just the bitching of people with little influence. Money and power goes a long way. All empires decline eventually, but naive leftists think the US can just stop what it's doing and there will be no negative consequences from the power vacuum that would create. You think you're clever, but your arguments consist of nothing more than cliches and insults.

your argument is full of emotion and zero facts

You're projecting and you're not even aware of it. There's plenty of evidence of successful societies that were hierarchical, patriarchal, and that used market based economies. There have also been many successful empires. There's little to no evidence of successful societies that didn't follow those models. They either don't make it past a primitive societal model, or those ideas are only embraced as a society declines.

Reality doesn't line up with your modern leftist views buddy. You don't really have an argument, you just want the world to be a certain way and because of that you're ignoring thousands of years of history.

stay buttmad incel

>dying for Israel

Can someone explain this meme? Who exactly is dying for Israel, besides the IDF? And where are they dying? Last I checked, we don't have very many troops deployed in Israel

Keep doing what you do
that way everyone will know you're retarded and will stay away from you and your sub 100 IQ takes

>Can someone explain this meme?
Many retards believe that if you join the US military, then you are a pawn for Israel. Israel does have a lot of influence in the US political sphere, especially with Republicans.

The general idea is that US foreign policy in the region generally centers around supporting allied interests, namely those of Israel and Saudi Arabia. The whole “dying for Israel” meme makes about as much sense as claiming Americans in both world wars were dying solely for the benefit of Britain.

>The whole “dying for Israel” meme makes about as much sense as claiming Americans in both world wars were dying solely for the benefit of Britain.

So - quite a bit of sense? The US profited in its own interest, but British influence pulling them in to serve British interests (disrupting the continent) played a major role.

Does anyone know the privacy policy of the military?
If I give my fingerprint and DNA samples during MEPS will the data be given to the FBI, NHS, and other alphabet agencies?

It's not accurate to say that America's involvement only benefited Britain though. The US was set to gain heavily from an Allied victory, and it did.
One can argue that Israel has too much influence on US policy (and I'd be inclined to agree) but arguing that US foreign policy in the region only benefits SA and Israel is simply false. It's a view espoused by people who have a very low resolution understanding of the world, and little knowledge in topics like geopolitics or economics.

your fingerprints will, but it's not forever after 24 calendar months or after your service, they'll be auto-deleted, keeping that much shit on file cost money

It will probably go to the FBI since you will have a background check done. Not a big deal, and if you're going into the military you have to accept some amount of decreased agency and privacy. At least temporarily.

This. People act like there’s zero value in projecting power overseas if the US isn’t directly being attacked. As long as the US maintains global interests, it will be fighting in global wars. Barring some sort of apocalyptic-level event like a strategic nuclear exchange or major asteroid impact, America will never be isolationist again.

>America will never be isolationist again.
I don't necessarily agree. Peter Zeihan has outlined several scenarios that could lead the US to being isolationist, or at least tending to far less intervention. If he's right I don't expect it to happen for a few more decades though.
He's a bit loony but his projections are worth looking into as he also projects potential wars among other things.

America was never an isolationist state

What are America’s interests and how do they improve the lives of the average American?

>What are America’s interests
cheap energy and low cost labor from 3rd world countries that drive the prices down on most american goods

From the little I’ve read of him, Zeihan focuses way too much on self-sufficiency (in his case, energy independence) as a means to induce isolationism. This ignores that nearly every major expansionist empire other than the British and Japanese was self-sufficient in nearly all resources, and that expansion was done out of a desire for economic and security gain rather than procurement of vital resources.

>how do they improve the lives of the average American?
America isn't about the average person, it's about immigrants, and the anyone above the median. If you're between those two groups, you're probably gonna have a bad time.

On top of that, enforcing the use of the dollar as the world reserve currency, forcing most global commerce to be at least tangentially related to our economy.

>people needed pearl harbor before we would give enough of a shit about WW2 to actually fight in it

How does that translate into bombing Iran? Do you believe our foreign policy in the past half century made the lives of the average American Any better? Our quality of life has actually gone down.

That’s somewhat true. If you’re above average in just about any field, the US is about the best place on earth to live. If I were poor with few prospects to change that on my own, I’d want to live in Europe, though.

>colonialism
>manifest destiny

go look at the politics back, Washington already decided it was going to war before Pearl Harbor

it doesn't, Trump just needs a pawn to sabre rattle at because he's dumb

In the decades leading up to both world wars, the US invaded the Philippines, fought the Chinese in the Boxer Rebellion, deposed a multitude of Latin American states, and exported weapons across the world. The people may have seen themselves as isolationist, but the US absolutely was not.

I agree Trump is an idiot, but saber rattling has its uses. It keeps our regional allies happy and ideally discourages their enemies from acting. Given the fact that the entire post-WW2 world order and US global power is based on the US securing its allies through military power, throwing weight around and looking like you’re willing to act is generally a good thing.

Yep, that's how I see it. Europe is better for general living (for now at least) or if you're poor. The US is better if you're talented, ambitious, or hardworking.

I have a couple of friends who emigrated from Central Europe who feel the same. They’re all super-motivated guys who started their own businesses before they turned 21, and they absolutely hate everything about European laws when it comes to business and labor.

>cheap energy
That's from fracking and has nothing to do with our international policy
>cheap labor
Responsible for completely destroying American industry.
Global interests sounds pretty shitty honestly.

>and has nothing to do with our international policy
just stop
>Responsible for completely destroying American industry.
because those jobs can be outsourced for cheaper than the american minimum wage

Recently I've been talking to an ANG recruiter about joining the air guard as a 1c8x3 (RAWS) but, since it's fairly new I can't find a whole lot of information about it, and I'd like to know what opportunities there would be for me in civilian jobs, or if I should do air guard work full time.

>and I'd like to know what opportunities there would be for me in civilian jobs
probably installing and repairing radars and VOR systems at airports

Pistol right above his knee...? POOOOOGUE shit.

>That's from fracking and has nothing to do with our international policy
oil is a commodity, if the supply goes down then costs are going to go up. that might make fracking more viable, but the oil acquired from fracking will still be traded.

strong argument

have sex.

Is USCG actually as tough as people say? I've heard people say it's just as challenging as Army BT or Marine Corps BC with a lot of the fight being mental. To me that's really appealing because I want to see what I can accomplish.
Once you graduate, you go straight to your A-school since you have CS right? How many guys from boot are you going with?
Why did you go Coast Guard?

How do SOF units pick their officers If im commissioning ? All these threads say the best way to get into an SOF unit is to go balls to the walls 11x, but I want to be a leader. What can I do to increase my chances of getting in

Attached: 1546651335859.jpg (512x512, 30K)

I want to be a SERE Specialist in the Air Force. Is this a difficult job to get? From my understanding, you can't get a contract with that job guaranteed, right?

If I l really liked a religious summer camp where we stayed in cabins, ate at the mess hall, and had a somewhat strict schedule would I enjoy the military?

Attached: 5C2AF477-083B-4BB9-A47F-16E354F6503F.jpg (960x960, 42K)

I believe you can get it guaranteed, given you meet the requirements. from what I recall, that's how it works for air force SOF jobs.
gosere.af.mil/Portals/16/documents/SERE Training Info/EA12-125_EBrochure SERE TriFold - SRLO Info.pdf?ver=2015-08-25-165048-343
you need to meet the PAST fitness requirements. keep in mind you're only getting a guarantee to go through the training pipeline. you can washout, as with anything else

yes but only if you enjoy your life because Jesus loves you not the things you do

How do you get even with someone during BCT?
I want to know in case I make enemies with someone

Beat the shit out of them

What are the chances of me being picked on in Marines boot camp because I am a Muslim?

Attached: l-22294-muslims-be-like-oh-boy-3am.jpg (700x697, 30K)

>these threads are run by recruiters
Lol no I've made the last 4 of these and I'm a neverserved

Thanks for the info. I just graduated college recently and have nothing but time to dedicate to fitness for this. Love the outdoors and camping and hunting and I've lived and traveled in all environments. I can't wait. No chance of me dropping/washing out. Huge morale booster knowing I can get it guaranteed.

You're welcome man, good luck in your pursuits. You should try to get in contact with an Air Force SOF recruiter or a SERE recruiter if that's a thing. There was some contact info at the bottom of that document, no idea if it still works .

I've not gone through any kind of selection process (plan to go to SFAS in the future though) but I'd imagine you would be a great fit for the job if you have a degree and already enjoy survivalism. Just be able to show you're mature and an effective communicator, since you would be tasked with training older people who outrank you.

Is it true they are offering most districts guaranteed right now? Which ratings are critical?
I wanna be an MK but I'm waiting on some medical paperwork before I join because I didn't lie about anything

probably 100%

but most likely not in an actual fucked up way

There was a DI who got 10 years for severely hazing muslims awhile back and as a result policy has changed so much DI's aren't even allowed to cuss
My suggestion would be if people fuck with you, tell them you love America and you want to kill terrorists. Nobody can guarantee you on how others will treat you but you can do your best to change people's minds.

What are the chances a typical fag here can get to 75th and Not wash out (do a full 4-6 years)

Some lank as fuck pajeet did it before killing a hooker so if anything you too can probably do it. As many others say it's all mental, think of it this way: if I don't make it into regiment I will die. Think of it as literally your only way to continue living, if you fail you're already dead.

I know OS and CS are critical right now but that should be a tell-tale sign that there's something shitty about those ratings if they can't fill them. Unless it's special operations there's a reason they can't fill those jobs.

>lank as fuck pajeet did it before killing a hooker
Livin' the dream.

Not a coastie, but I've heard that you don't always go immediately to your next training command. They keep you as whatever the CG's equivalent of an undesignated seaman is, and even officers are just helping out until they get their proper job training. I guess they just can't afford to train them all at the same time?

What are the odds of being able to go to sniper school in both the marines and the army? Both options make it seem like I will have to suck a lot of higher up dick just to get to put an application in.

Yeah but he signed for a designated rating. I'm going in undesignated to get a feel for where I'd want to actually be but am leaning towards BM, MK, AET, AST, MST or IS.

From what I've been told you sign undesignated, get your orders, do your job and get quals to do less shitty work then get your quals to apply for an A school, then you wait as an E3 until it's your turn get your job training. But from what I understand this is a vastly superior way to run everything. No idiot Seamen are fucking up everyone else's work or privileges. Everybody you're working with is a petty officer or above so you're treated like an adult (which you most likely are even if you joined at 18.)

Correct me if I'm wrong but I believe historically that this was how most navies were run, you start off as an idiot seaman and work your way up until the captain finds a job that you would suit well in.

Muslims don’t belong in America

So how does Delta Force recruit? If you do well in Rangers do they just approach you one day with an offer?

They mostly just grab you from your house in the middle of the night and run a train on you to see if you are up to par.

Why doesn't the military just run the enlistment process like Starship Troopers?
>Here's your file, games and theory. Lucky man.

Which Army MOS has the most autistic sperglords.

I need to know where i belong

Often referred to as the DoD's very own "Weaponized Autism"

Are Air Force special forces a joke or are they as respected as the more popular special forces (e.g. Rangers, SEALs)

>Are Air Force special forces
Air Force SF usually refers to security forces which is a joke
But ASFOC operators like PJs, CCTs, SOWTs and some TACPs are very respected.
I could be wrong but I think PJs have the longest pipeline of any SOF unit and some people say it's the hardest
In short they are very respected

>SOWTs
They're being reclassed as something called special reconnaissance. Probably the same basic job, though.

Bit of a shame really, imagine being able to tell people you're a Weatherman Operator

Which branch is the most fun?

Special Reconnaissance will still be trained on the whole weather aspect just not as in depth because it's not super necessary anymore

How is basic "pussified" now? Is it because the drill instructors can't use racial slurs or hit you?

>drill instructors can't use racial slurs or hit you
That's been the case since like, after Vietnam.

It isn't, it's just that Boomers think that you have to be physically abusive to create "real soldiers/marines/seamen/airmen"

One of my toenails is on the verge of falling off if i fuck with it. Will meps take issue?

Just glue it on

Are you the fucking toe poster that's been in every enlistment thread?
