The skill curve for firearms has a brutal plateau that requires thousands of hours and tens of thousands of rounds of ammo to nudge upwards. If you're doing ipsc style shooting, I recommend focusing on one drill until your times plateau and then move to the next.

Guns and ammo can be kept together in a safe, regardless of classification

its literally fuddlore that they need to be seperate, as long as the gun is not loaded with a bombed up mag, or a round in the chamber, you're good. you literally can have a loaded mag in the same locked cabinet next to the locked gun.

I don't do competition style shooting or anything, just recreational. Try to go every weekend. I just wish to be somewhat competent with my guns. I'm okay with shotguns, like doing trap shooting, but shooting rifles from anything but a bench I'm awful at, shooting with my AR from a normal standing position, I'm lucky if I can land all ten rounds at 50 meters, and my handgun skills are all over the place and are something I've been struggling a lot with, I'll have one really tight group then another that's something resembling a shotgun blast. So I do all kinds of drills and try to follow advice I read or watch videos of online, but it's barely improved my shooting ability. I just wanna be competent with the things I spend a lot of money on.

The parts availability makes the ruger a sensible choice. The manual of arms on it is ehhhh

No they take regular Marlin 795 mags.
So you can get 7, 10, 25, 30, 70 round mags for it. Plus it's more accurate than the 10/22 and also cheaper (and stainless).
