>2020
>now 1999.99
>all scars now have massive QC problems
I MIGHT* buy a scar if it was $900 or less, the boots aren't worth more then that
Muh pistol lower with shockwave brace is taking for-fucking-ever to get to my FFL.
Shit thread as always qb
Thanks
It's been years since I popped into one of these threads.
Where did all the cool rifles go?
And where are all the trips?
They arent making 16s domestically nor importing them anymore
MSRP on the domestic ones is still $3570 with a MAP of $3160
Thinking your vote counts is botched lobotomy tier dumb.
pretty much everybody got ran off
Is NFA tracker total bullshit? My sandman-s wants out of jail
They can't bring themselves to send out that piece of shit you call a brace.
>Is NFA tracker total bullshit?
Yes
>tfw my friends PSA is more accurate than my BCM RECCE
I'm legit pissed off. Does anyone else have any accuracy issues with their BCM? We were both using 55 grain ammo. He was using winchester and I was using XM193. We both shot each others rifles just to make sure it wasn't a shooter issue and his was in fact more accurate than mine. Would using heavier XM855 make a difference?
They all died.
what muzzle device is this?
Looking for a 15" floaty boy handguard in the $150 range. Any suggestions before I regret making an uniformed purchase?
There are already scars being made domestic late 2018. Price went up.
check this thread instead.

Bet you didn't time your bolt correctly, psa usually does that right at least
ops inc mk12 collar
AEM5 collar
might as well efile that pistol, got my stamp in like 3 weeks for my shortboi, cans do take longer and NFA tracker is bullshit, seems like its manually updated every few weeks.
Larue is probably your best bet at that price point. Only rail worth a damn at 10$ an inch.
Block 1 vs block 2?
>Bet you didn't time your bolt correctly
It's a complete rifle.
i just checked the last page, it seems like wait times are edging closer to a year
HA HA HA HA HA
*INHALES*
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
is the psa chrome lined?
youre a shitty shot. im getting 0.75-1 MOA with match ammo and good conditions out of my BFH CL BCM
where can I buy the Army's rear sights?
also how long have they been using these?
I know they used to use KAC rear sights
inb4 the PSA is stainless steel
ebay. search matech
Block 1 is okay but basic. Done right it's a robust and light option. Block 2 is hated because fuck Psi.
>i'm a stupid nigger who can't read
lol we know
Was that filing as a trust or an individual? I'm assuming pretty much everyone does the former.
SSGP is the way to go, I think, well actually I'll get back to you on that after I find time between car repairs to shoot this thing....
Where da cheap compm4 at ?
>buys a chrome lined barrel and expects accuracy
youre a dumb nigger that doesnt know what hes buying, if you want accuracy get SS.
Only suckers buy "premium" ARs
>haha I can't read still
embarrassing desu, I bet you don't even scrape the scallop
What do the best block 1 setups look like?
a trust, have heard of turn around times of 2 weeks if you efile, dont know if filling as an individual or a trust makes a difference though.
Chrome is better
if you're too poor to buy new barrels occasionally
are geissele braided springs worth it? ive heard theyre great but im also hearing that there are other springs that are just as good for way less
BCM RECCEs are chrome lined, net time research what youre buying, retard, a nitride non chrome lined barrel will be accurate, as I said youre just a shitty shot.
they are a meme, buy flatwire
If you can afford to shoot out a barrel, you can afford a new barrel. Only people who never shoot out a barrel are concerned by this
I have an early ruger AR556.
Just ordered a pistol lower, for a 10.5", I want 2 more lowers, 1 for a Gucci 16", and to make a 18" "precision" rifle, we'll see how that goes.
Then I think I'll slap a .458 socom upper on that ruger lower, make the fudds rage
ebay
Chrome gets shot out faster than anything else.
no they are not, theyre a rip off, those arent braided springs, theyre normal springs that bent that bill sells at a mark up.
I replaced the endplate on my AR for one with an attachment point, bent the top of the takedown pin retaining pin.
So I cut off the bent part and put it back in, seems to be fine
Also chewed the fuck out of my castle nut.
That's what she said.
they have a chromed chamber but they aren't fully chrome lined you mongoloid.
Might be the ammo. XM193 is great for reliability, but it's not exactly match grade stuff. Try some heavier stuff. You also mentioned that your rifle is a RECCE. Does it have a lighter profile barrel? That might affect the shot too. This one's a SOCOM barrel, chrome lined, and while I don't expect sub-MOA groups out of it, it still outshoots my Saiga.
That, or you're just a piece of shit troll.
First ever AR build. 7.5 in KAK barrel. Saved a boat load getting some 2nd hand parts and putting everything together myself.
no it doesnt, chrome is excellent for longevity, it just sucks for accuracy, non-lined bbls are best for accuracy but they suck at longevity. SS is middle of the road that splits the difference.
It doesn't have a light profile barrel. I've heard that XM ammo in general can be really inaccurate as well. What should I be shooting then?
For groups? Black Hills 77gr ammo seems to be what these rifles like, if you really wanna close up those groups. You could even try the Winchester stuff your friend was using, see if your RECCE likes that ammo. Just keep trying different brands and loads and see what your RECCE likes best. Mine likes Aguila 62 and Hornady Zombie Max for my purposes, but mine isn't a long-range gun and I accept that. Mine is, at best, a 2 or 3-gun rifle with targets no further than 200 yards, and a contractor tool.
Maybe if pure chrome.
You AR kiddies dont shoot enough.
Chrom lined is played, the shit starts to break off overtime, and gas begins to escape around the bullets and it won't fully engage the rifling.
This generally occurs around 5000 rounds before a carbon steel barrel starts to degrade, and once it happens it degrades faster than carbon steel.
>carbon steel barrel
user what retard shit are you on about. Good non-chrome lined nitrided barrels and chrome lined barrels use the same exact steel you mongoloid. 4150.
I used to be an armorer for the army, chrome line barrels if done to spec ( as most companies claim) should not ever chip off until after 20-30k rounds. companies are selling chrome lined BORES and selling them as "chrome lined" and thats where the problem lies.
Boomer detected
>rings on the upper and the handguard
1. What do you think 4150 is?
(Its carbon steel)
2. Yes the barrel under the chrome plating is still 4150, but the wear of the chrome creates enough space to fuck up rifling engagement, and gas sealing.
Once that starts happening accuracy is gone, where as with a straight steel barrel accurasy will start to degrade at a point but it's a slow degradation.
I'm not sure how SS holds up, I haven't looked into them much, but generally SS is softer, therefore should shoot out faster, but some SS are fairly hard.
Your background check is possibly "stuck" on the FBI end of the process. I head several people have had problems with their shit getting through and not getting processed through the FBI check somehow. It was in an arfcom thread where I saw this.
I always liked Psi
>What do you think 4150 is?
A medium carbon steel with chromium and molybdenum
>Yes the barrel under the chrome plating is still 4150, but the wear of the chrome creates enough space to fuck up rifling engagement
Chrome is harder than steel. By the time it has worn away, your straight 4150 barrel is a smoothbore.
>hurdur I don't know about stainless steel
way to confirm you know literally nothing about the subject, as if it was not obvious. You were right by the way, just so you know. Stainless shoots out faster. They use 416r generally, not a super hard steel.
Anyway, post AR
The chrome doesnt just wear away, chrome plating is shitz the bind between the steel and chrome is weaker than just the steel. It comes off in chunks and pitts.
can i just use blue loctite on my castle nut instead of staking it?
Throw it away and start over
yes
That's not an AR, it just looks like one superficially.
You can use neither if you want
>7.5 in KAK barrel
In what caliber? If it's 300blk for your first AR you kinda goofed, if it's 5.56 you really goofed. No comment on the side charging, not my cup of tea, but you do you. Either way, congrats on finishing your first build.
>pri handguard with continuous top rail
I would be interested to see how poi shift compares with an lmt monolithic handguard mounted in the same place. Carbon fiber is more rigid than aluminum so it might preform better
my first build as well
its in .556
where i live i don't think i'd ever seriously be engaging anyone over 100 meters
not my first choice for home defense that my 12 gauge
it was pretty fun. i could never just buy one outright it feels empty. its the lego of the gun world you should be building it piece by piece.
>7.5" unsuppressed 5.56
Thats like everyones last choice. All noise, percussion. No fragmentation
i actually bought 100 .223 rounds
What's a good suppressor to buy?
