Why don’t you own a 1911?

because i'm a zoomer

why don't you?

I legally cannot. But if I could buy a handgun, it would not be a 110 year old design that has been superceded by more effective designs. Furthermore, the 1911 is overpriced as is, because of the American puplic's sentimental infatuation with the pistol. A 1911 does not give as much performance for its price as a more modern pistol.

Heavy. Low Capacity for Size. Expensive. Less Reliable for cost. More Maintenance Intensive.

Basically the 1911 sucks at everything but ergonomics (debatable) and trigger feel.

>heavy
post your noodle arms

because it's gay lmao

with some guns it's more about the joy they bring you as you shoot and own them.

Attached: morestockssmall.jpg (600x298, 39K)

I own 2. Reliable, better ergonomics than most other plastic guns, better out of the box trigger, no upgrades needed like every glock owner needs to do. Anyone who says it's outdated is either an idiot or has never used one.

I do.
>and for some reason I didn't have a picture of it alone

Attached: SmartSelect_20190622-052110_Gallery.jpg (1080x425, 503K)

I'm an idiot who has never used a 1911 and I'm telling you, it's outdated. It WAS the standard military sidearm. Now it isn't, even though it continues to exist. If you date it at all, it's "outdated".

>I've never used it but I know it's outdated
>source: my boipussi

I do own a 1911, because it's a great design and Captain America's sidearm.

Maturing and realizing she's just a high maintenance, stuck up, expensive picky bitch who will let you down.

Too expensive

and Batman's

Attached: 2151020-batman-Odyssey-2-1.jpg (1333x617, 165K)

Too expensive. Not like I can't afford it, but why would I buy a gun that's inferior and obsolete for 3 times the cost of a modern handgun.

>Too expensive
>Can be had for $400

>5'2" Batman

It holds 7 rounds. Modern guns of the same calibre and similar size hold 15. Not that the calibre itself isn't also superceded. 45acp is all but obselete. Has been for 30 years.

Its ALWAYS been obsolete.

Even in the infamous "Goat/Pig Shoots" 9mm and even .30 Luger outperformed it, in FMJ no less.

Because the pre-A1 of my dreams is out of my price range right now.

they make doublestack 1911's

reeee lock that slide back what do you think youre doing i want to see daylight in that action!

>implying OP even owns a gun

>A1 clone
>No pencil barrel
REEEEEEEEE

Cuz im a nigger

Because I have an iq over 90 and my age is under 40.

IT BELONGS IN A MUSEUM.

I do

this

>Batmanlet

You know how I know you're a nogunz 12 year-old?

Trust me, it annoys me too, but my FAL project took priority, and I'm waiting to drop a couple hundred on some 7.62 bakes.
It'll get done, but it's not high on my priority list.

Because the FBI released an enormous well researched dossier that 9mm is the preferable munitions for defense (and offense), and 1911/2011s are rarely optimized for 9mm and massively less modular or reliable than Glocks.

We ought to justify fun in utility, not utility in fun

Because I like magnum revolvers. The only automatic I have is a Glock 20 because a Colt Delta Elite or a Ruger SR1911 and just about every other 10mm 1911 I know of are in the 1000 dollar and up range. Didn't feel like dropping that much money.

Lmao is that a 20 inch barrel

Becaisr glock perfection bitch

But i do

Attached: 20180412_191543.jpg (1080x1920, 1.07M)

Because i own its spiritual successor.

So post yours and not a stock photo

Up top boi

I'm saving for a Dan Wesson Specialist in 9mm.

I will one day. I just have other guns I want to buy first

I can't decide between a poorfag rock island, a slightly more expensive colt, or an apparently nice dan wesson for a first one.

I'm a simple man. I see a 1911, I click like.

A decent one costs more than both of my S&W striker pistols.

Are double stack 1911s (2011s?) any good?

Talking proper 45 here.

lose weight

I'm in Cali and can't get a 1911 I actually want under $1000. I wouldn't mind a RIA but I can't justify it over, say, a Glock 20 I've also been looking at.

I do now, its just a little retarded

I'm trying! Thank you for the encouragement. Here's a better picture of my Cooperizer as payment for the motivation

Saving up for one. If I buy a 1911, I'm going to buy a fucking good one. SA can suck a dick, Colt can suck a dick, SIG can suck a dick. Wilson or bust.

Let me introduce to you the budget friendly Spanish imitation of the 1911, in a compact 9mm. Not a direct copy but very similar, this all steel beauty can be bought for under $200. Like a quality 1911, producing this new today would likely cost over $500. I know this isn't a 1911, it's a cheap Spanish knockoff that's actually undervalued for its quality.

Attached: Star BM.jpg (1024x652, 245K)

The BM, despite its name, is a lovely little gun

Oh cool so its more heavier, pfft

I own a p938 its basically a 1911 in micro size

You can get a rock island standard for $415.95 on cheaper than dirt. Even less for the RIA GI models.

havent gotten around to it yet
theres lots of guns i want but i dont have unlimited funds

They're expensive for what you're getting. If I want a military surplus pistol of the time, I prefer a Tokarev. Fires a more interesting caliber. A Hi-Point 45 is more likely to work reliably out of the box than a mid range 1911 (enjoy your kimbers lol). If you want a nostalgia gun have some class and pick up a luger. You can get an American Eagle one for about $1k if you shop around

Jesus Christ the '01 kids are 18 now

I don't think brand new guns should need a "Break in time" to be reliable

They’re fun to shoot but grip safeties are annoying imo

I don't own an 1911 because boomer gun

Well 1911s have some of the best triggers found in pistols, which is why they dominate most types of shooting competition. If you want to judge guns purely by their utility and stats on paper, then every handgun except glocks are shit.

I like my guns to actually work

But I do

Attached: 20190525_100411.jpg (2560x1440, 1M)

Because I own a superior glock

Hey bbl guys, my wife's date is here

Yeah, or I could buy a good steel frame 9mm like a 5906 for $250.

Those have fucked up retard safeties and shitty triggers because DA/SA.

>take newguns friend to range
>newguns friend has a Glock 19
>his groups are honestly trash at 7 yards
>says his gun is inaccurate
>I shoot it 3 times and put all the rounds in pretty much the same hole without difficulty
>I then start shooting my 1911 (Remington R1 Enhanced that I've customized)
>inb4 >Remington. Mine's been 100% reliable so idk what to tell you
>"Hey user, let me try your gun."
>He shoots a couple mags
>Groups are much better.
>Not amazing, but nothing to be embarrassed about at all.
>"Hey user, I think I want a 1911!"

Attached: lol15.png (640x640, 41K)

Remington, like Taurus, is good at making 1911s.

china numba one

It's the only Remington product I've ever owned, so I only have my sample size of 1.
I really like it though. It's my EDC gun.

As a Psionics infantry class, civilian, spectre, psionic, sage, or other class, the 1911 is perfectly modifiable to get your best psionics ability growth in your unique signals game intelligence community.

The longer you are likely to live, the more likely you will have a 1911 in its battlestar standard parts. The pics on this thread showing holes at trigger and hammer are proof of many young guys and gals in on psionic enhancement. I am old enough that these holes gimp my psionics, but the 1911 is modifiable to the battlestar standard, retaining all the already standard parts of your 1911.

Because I have a USP Expert which is by all means better.

But I do. A good one. In 9mm, with 10rd mags.
I dont bother with slow guns that have shit triggers.
Bring on the poorfag service pistol cope. Tell me again how posting slower times with your DA makes you a better shooter.

Hence why I own a glock, and competition shooting is hardly a utility for most

Why not just buy a llama 1911?

I own guns for fun, I don’t give two shits about things like “practicality” I’ll buy a 1860 in 380 ACP if I want fuck you

What the fuck is that

I dislike the 1911 for a lot of reasons but I’m a shooter and primarily shoot handguns. I like to be well rounded and also challenge my own opinions from time to time. So I decided to jump on an opirtunity to by two newer PT1911s for $600. One 45 and one 9mm. I figured what the fuck they’re cheap and maybe okay for building on, removing the shit safety hammer and ambi safety, better sights, small tweaks, etc. I shoot plates and target mostly. So I have well over 100 handguns and never liked the grip safety on a 1911, they are gay, grip sensitive and wholly unnecessary. That still stands, not only can it disable the gun during a less than perfect draw but I have also had them fail and stick. Nothing that could not be fixed by polishing a pin and tweaking a spring but it doesn’t make me feel cozy. This is one of many yet similar gripes that I have with the platform. They’re a Rube Goldberg machine of a gun inside; lots of precisely fitted parts to make the gun run reliably and smoothly. Use one for any length of time and all the springs and stoned surfaces start to change, and so does the shooting experience. They are temperamental, the mags are terriblly inadequate to support such a large bullet after a reasonable amount of loadings and the tighter the gun is the more you’ll notice how quickly they shoot loose and get sloppy. Kind of like a cheap car with a bad suspension. The shorter you go, the worse they are too. I have seen them literally beat themselves to death.

Not a bad gun for 1911 but unless you shoot target or some sort of competition, it is meh in my opinion. I don’t regret having a couple but the size and weight of the gun, paired with its complexity and finicky nature relegate it to the range.

Because boomers haven't died off in mass enough to flood the market with never shoot 1911s.

Because whiteoids ruined it

Attached: DCE27107-FA8C-4BDC-8F63-7CC7AC90913B.jpg (1005x1024, 105K)

But I do

Attached: 20190322_233822.jpg (936x1248, 265K)

when do you transition, user?

It's a beautiful gun, but I'm not a fudd and would rather have 16 rounds of 9mm than 8 rounds of .45.

Because when I wanted a fun 45 ACP pistol, I'd rather get a Mark 23 instead of a Dan Wesson.

I'll get a nice 1911 sometime later in the future when i have some extra $$$ and feel the itch, but for now my Mark 23 is setting me tits.

>pic related

Attached: Mark23super.jpg (2016x1359, 736K)

I'm kinda waiting for the CMP ones to be available
Though I hate 45 and kind of just want a 9mm version

talk about a fish out of water

They also come with double stack mags, though.

It's so pleasant to shoot though
