heres the stripped down gun, i ve got the gas system taken apart as well as the bolt. Everything was seized for either no one cleaning it or from sitting for a long time.

I am amazed the excavator didnt crush it.

I am going to give everything a good soak in WD40 than hot water. There is a bit of rust inside the gas tube but its so far coming off with little issue.

get some quality cleaning oil and a brass brush scrub down the moving parts and piston, re oil and re assemble.

Soak in gasoline or some other hydrocarbon instead of WD40

ok got it, i actually just discovered a great big blob of rust in the gas tube, not sure how water got in there but it might be pitted now. What do I do about that?

That bolt and the gun itself looks brand new and not like it's been sitting in a house for a long time and survived it being destroyed

also firing pin is seized as well, wont move with gentle tapping from mallet, guess everythings going to have to soak for a while.

You can buy chemicals that'll dissolve the rust, but you're going to have to scrub it off with a nylon or brass brush.

it was covered in cobwebs and hair when i first found it, but yes other than that the outsides in amazing shape. The insides not so much though. There is a lot of rust in hard to reach places.

I would just worry about the bolt barrel and piston, scrub out the gas tube best you can.

I think i am going to have to find a new gas tube, the insides really gnarly, rust and fused crud. I dont think this was ever cleaned properly. no wonder the piston was such a pain to get out.

its great, when you can afford it, buy the aluminium trigger/trigger guard upgrade and do the job. plastic trigger guard is prone to breaking...make sure if you take it apart not to screw it back in too tight.
