Its not about efficiency. It's about the experience. Anybody could flood those mole bastards out but a real Jow Forumsommando brings the fight to them.
I'd personally try to make my way as deep as possible from the mouth. Id bring scuba gear and a o2 detector. Armaments would consist of a semi auto 12 gauge of any reputable brand and a 7 shot .357 as well. Id also highly recommend wearing the highest lumen headlamp I could obtain as the mole people are easily blinded and disoriented by immediate harsh light.
