Not how the math pans out, think of it this way, the bullet is pushed with the same force the gun is. This results in the gun which has well over 100 times the mass of the projectile being pushed with the equivalent force; as such the projectile will have more energy focused into a single spot while the firearm absorbs most of the force placed upon it and delays the impact to the user over a period of time. The bullet dumps all of its energy near instantly.
