Whats the difference in size between AKM charging handles and AK74 charging handles? I’ve seen some charging handle extensions claim they are for one or the other, but I’ve never paid attention to the size of ak74 charging handles when I’ve seen them.

TLDR; is the charging handle on an AK74 bigger than one from an AKM?

I thought that was only on a few oddball models like the Romanian AIMS? Most other 74 rifles I've seen have the standard 90° angle on them. Is it just REALLY slight?

To be honest isn't the PSAK pretty much what everyone wanted? I know it's not proven yet but it pretty much checks all the marks in what the AK market is looking for. I mean the barrel is probably questionable, but other than that, what else is the problem?

Yeah the prices have been fluctuating a bit, but I managed to snag it for $1102 from Brownells using their 10% off coupon that they have every week or so. The PSA and Romanian 9mm AKs are a lot cheaper, but I didn't want something cobbled together from an AKM receiver for the consumer market.

RAS "Dracos" are made by Century in the USA. The Romanian Dracos made by Cugir are just imported by Century. Avoid the American ones.

Guy in lgs tried to sell me on their milled ras draco with magpul furniture. Im like yeah no I want the import one thanks. Thinking about a micro draco soon for a car gun

Yeah I don't like the way the Pak 9 etc look either. I may get one of the PSA 9mm pistols since they are a few hundred cheaper and i'll get to scratch my "vityaz" itch. Would be fun to test it to see how they hold up. And no, I'm not the psak spam poster.

How do i know if its Cugir? A rollmark?

They'll be stamped with "Cugir" or "Made in Romania" or something of that nature. There may be some other differences as well, but that's going to be the most obvious.

Yeah the PSA one is supposedly pretty good, but it's heavier than the KUSA Vityaz, and I think it's probably longer as well. I also didn't like the idea of it requiring a buffer behind the bolt for it to operate properly.

Most of /akg/ just doesnt want to see a good american AK. They will nitpick any way to try and say its bad, including stock gap apparently which is something that is supposed to be on the rifle. They will find reasons to hate it, simply because its american.

Yeah I didn't like that either, but it isn't too big of a deal breaker for me. I can always turn around and sell it if I end up not liking it.

Actual Romy Draco's have a fully enclosed front sight hood, a ring, like an SKS does, the barrel is longer also. The receiver will be stamped "Roman/Cugir"
