Being a video game though, these weapons will need to fit certain parameters. And of course, a weapon's coolness is now directly proportional to its combat effectiveness.
You will need:
1. A melee weapon 2. A handgun 3. A shotgun 4: A small caliber rifle, SMG, or PCC 5: A larger caliber rifle or slug gun 6: A gimmick weapon (think crossbow with weird bolts, blinding/burning lasers, acid bottles, traps, etc.) 7: An OH SHIT weapon (think flamethrowers, explosives)

Hard Mode: Try to limit your weapons to ones you own or could realistically acquire/manufacture within a week of departure.

Chlorine triflouride sprayer. Aton of CIF3was accidentally spilled on a warehouse floor in the 50's, which caused it to burn (literally combust) straight through a foot (30 centimeters) of concrete and three feet (90 centimeters) of gravel. Oh, and in the process, it also released hot, deadly clouds of hydrofluoric acid that corroded everything in its path. There was no way to extinguish it, either. Pouring water (or anything else) on it only fuels the flames in an explosive way. You just have to wait for it to do its thing.

The aesthetic of the game would pander to the edgy late 90s kids who were slamming Jolt Cola and obsessed with Limp Bizkit, WWF, and South Park. A buckets of blood shootout with a cliche backstory. You play a nameless Detroit PD ex-cop in the future laid off for police brutality, and you take instant justice to the city streets, killing mostly black and brown criminals.
