The best era to be a cop

When was it? And where?

If you could be a police officer in any era and nation, where would it have been? Where did they get to have the most fun?

I'm thinking 1980s Miami PD or any secret police during the Soviet era.

Before 1985 if you committed a felony in the US; any felony, and you fled law enforcement they could shoot you to death. We need to bring this back.

Well, it doesn't get more Statist than being a cop, really.

Yeah, I was amazed at the level of tactical firepower, for 1943. Love that .45. Ole buy is the real deal

Someone consumes entertainment a little too much...best time to be a cop in the US was in the South during segregation times. Low crime and having power over negroes.

Retro police thread? Haven't seen one in ages.

Late 40s to early 50s for that L.A Noire vibe.

During the depression in NYC
All the cops where rich
They where the only people with jobs

Do you know how poor Miami and Florida in general was through the the 80s sure there where drugs and what not but the cops where given the bottom of. The barrel stuff. True bubba cops. That's once reason the drug dealing worked, it was over their heads.

You may not like it, but this is what peak police work looks like.

Is that a microphone??

Unironically this. Post war America had the highest level of social trust and prosperity. Police were widely considered to be a force of good. Now police are all tactical-geared up and turbo aggressive retards. I'd love to be on a first name basis with my local police officer, but that simply isn't possible today.

Best choice because you would immediately go on a dealer's payroll and make mad ca$h fa$t

thats why cops have the ultimum SHTF job, it just gets better as the shit piles up, while all yous are running innawoods the cops are going to be getting bologne at the deli when ever they feel like it, while your eating squirrel

You could round up the town folk to help lynch some random nigger at your choosing and you could destroy and black neighbhood and get away with it!

You've consumed too much (((media)))

Short-barrel Enforcers, carbines, and retro vests with baseball caps is peak retro

Cops especially urban ones did not fuck around back then unlike today where they tell you to do the Hokie Pokie in reverse eight times and then shoot your dog.

An American Cop? Maybe before ww1 before the whole American anti police sentiment was allowed to exist.
Being an Italian Carabiniere in a rural area is the best life.
You don't do anything most of the day, you just go around with your buddy across the landscape. People don't mistreat you and you don't fear being shot.
Occasionally you have to take care of drunk people, and more serious stuff.
It was like heaven before mass immigration...the problem is the wage

>revolvers
well, talk about the Mandela effect, I thought they had Beretta's in the movie

Clunky early laser sight.

oddly enough Robert Duval's character used a beretta and Sean Penn's character used a revolver. I think it was to show how streetwise Duval was and how much of a fresh academy boot Penn was
