What are the laws around carrying concealed knives?

What are the laws around carrying concealed knives?

I live in Oregon, and all the Googling I've done has only led to confusion. It seems that it's illegal to have a knife on you unless it's visible on your person somehow. But I don't want it to be too visible, since that can make others uncomfortable. But with all the crap happening here in Portland since the mid-2010s (I'm sure you've seen us in the news), I generally feel too vulnerable walking the town without some means of defending myself.

I've been told you can carry a pocket knife with only the clip to your pants visible and it's still legal (but I have my doubts). All the pouches I've seen for knives (thus far) are usually unsubtle, and I don't want to draw attention to myself. But I'm still leaning on knives because I want something more effective than mace, and cheaper than tasers.

I already have a couple Kershaws. But I keep them in my drawer for packages.

the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.

Based and redpilles

Well, I had the right to bear arms. But they took they took 'em away when I kept beating people over the head with them.

It's legal to conceal carry a pocket knife with less than a 6 inch blade. Are you looking to conceal like a combat knife or something?

Fuck your knives I clicked for the cutie spill the sauce

The most I have is a 3 incher (I think). Just look up any Kershaw knife in the $20-30 range on Amazon, and that's I'm using.

But apparently in Oregon (though I'm still not certain), that's still illegal unless the knife is clipped to your belt for others to see, or you have a pouch that's clearly visible.

Glasses are needed

It amazes me how Alina Li has grow obscure these days, considering she was one of the top porn stars of 2014.

I also live in Oregon, though not in PDX.

Literally EVERYONE I associate with carries a knife, clip exposed without any permit or anything. Typical knives, ~3" CKRTs or Gerbers etc.

I don't think there are laws for knives like that, but honestly have never checked.

I'm just going off of anecdotes from friends of mine who like knives, and my inability to properly interpret legalese, so I'm taking information I've learn thus far with a grain of salt.

Fucking summerfags

Jow Forums on a mobile device almost never shows filename.

So yes, summer indeed.

This is from 2017 but most recent thing I could find. Looks like as long as it's a folding knife and under 6 inches it's fine to conceal from the cases in the site I linked. I really doubt any cop would hassle you for having a folding pocket on you anyways, just say you do handyman work or open a lot of cardboard boxes or something. Seems like long, fixed blades are the stuff you would get in trouble for concealing but also looks like for some weird reason it's legal to conceal a switchblade.

I evidently wasn't clear.
Shall not be infringed.
OR whatever your local law is that is infringing upon your constitution freedom, is an unconstitutional law. If for any reason your knife is seized or confiscated, or if you are charged with any crime regarding possession (but not brandishing), you need to appeal at a federal court. The state of OR is the criminal here, not you.

Have you tried googling Oregon, knife law?

imagine if they name your state Oregin

>but you see officer the law is actually unconstitutional you need to take me to the supreme court right away
I get what your saying but it's not really gonna help the guy when he's getting his teeth kicked in by cops, raped in jail, and paying legal fees out the ass.

Yep, did you not see the parts about Googling leading to further confusion, and the legalese involved?

No, no it won't. But it could potentially keep thousands of other people from getting teeth kicked in by cops, raped in jail, and paying legal fees out the ass when the federal courts determine OR law unconstitutional.

Or you know, OP could just stand up for his rights preemptively, and get the law changed.

Knives are extremely bad as self defense weapons.

All the more reason that unconstitutional laws restricting them are unnecessary.

tap the bottom of the picture you tech illiterate boomer

yes but only because people are squeamish. If you have a knife and are willing and able to use it in self defense it works as both a deterrent and a lethal weapon. unfortunately it is a hard sell as self defense to a prosecutor/jury because humans have a very visceral reaction to someone being stabbed, sven if he was a thug who deserved it.

>showing off your knife as a deterrent
If your goal is to get stabbed by your own knife you might as well save some time and do it yourself.

such a shame she ruined her body with that god awful gun tattoo

Why does she bother to pose clothed? She’s a fucking porn star.

SHALL

>in 1984 in State v. Delgado, the Supreme Court of Oregon found that former Oregon statute § 166.510(1) was unconstitutional because it prohibited the mere possession and mere carrying of a weapon. The Court believed that restricting the possession and open carrying of weapons for non-felons was a violation of a person’s right to bear arms under the 2nd Amendment to the Constitution.
And look at the controlling majority and proposed gun laws now. These bay area literal fags and hags need to go.

Buy knife. Put it in your pocket. Use as a tool.
Buy gun. Get CCW and carry. Gonna need it for the rampant homeless and Antifags.

You're such a huge faggot

Honestly the laws about knives are so out dated. In my state you can have a 3 inch knife. You can have a permit to open and conceal carry a pistol. Nothing on the books makes an exception about blade size with a carry permit. They have no plans to try and resolve that either just bad stuff to what I assume they want is that they're being hopeful of get rid of carry of anything all together, and then trying to outfit police with "less than lethal" weaponry that they're more likely to abuse people with than lethal things. It's no fucking wonder they want free health care so they can say it's okay to beat the shit out of you after this crap.

I've carried a knife in my pocket since I was 12, this question sounds absurd to me.

>I live in Oregon and googling lead to confusion
Wut? I live in Oregon
You can OC any bladed weapon, any size, except for a few secured areas, private property can ask you to leave if you OC on them.
You can CC any knife any size, that's not "swing or spring operated, or a dagger or a dirk" so no CCed double edge knives, auto knives, or butterfly knives.

That's not Oregon law you fucktards, that's like cali/NY shit

This is out of date, CA has made any form of spring operated, not assisted though, knives illegal to sell or transport outside of your home.

Nice trips. based and bearpilled.

site used to build?

Sanwu

I’m a district attorney in Oregon.

The clip on your pants is totally irrelevant. Its concealed. You can carry a concealed knife as long as it 1) isn’t a “dirk or dagger” (no case law has defined what this means but it probably means double-edged and stabby) and 2) doesn’t swing open via spring or centrifugal force. (Switchblade or butterfly knife)

It’s oregon. Carry a normal pocket knife and no one will care.

>idaho
Nani the fuck?

Attached: 1561038520729.jpg (500x628, 65K)

okay so, as a fellow oregonian, my understanding is if its a folding blade under 3.5 inches then its fine, but other wise you need a concealed carry license, i think theres a cc license for knives specifically too. I dont know the conceal carry laws on ballistic knives, but i think butterfly and switch blades are fine with a cc license

Spyderco matriarch 2 with a ring. Thin, lightweight, long blade, intimidating looking, wave feature works great and is configurable. Not a stabby knife, but that's better suited for a fixed blade anyway. It's also NOT a work knife whatsoever, it's very sharp but it's not a edge your going to want to maintain. I carry a leatherman all the time anyway for that purpose.

Attached: signet07.jpg (900x675, 700K)

Your understanding is wrong

>not a stabby knife
>not a work knife
So uh... what exactly is it used for?

Deep slashing

cool

This isnt even close to Oregon law, are you lying? Or literally underage?

>google is confusing
>asks 4channel

>cali
we can carry any length folder concealed out here, and any length fixed open. knife laws are surprisingly based in most of california

spring operated and assisted is the same exact shit. you just can’t have a button for it and it has to require force to open

also you can totally carry automatic knives, balisongs, etc. in california they just have to be under 2 inches. learn to read the fucking laws bro
