It'll be lighter and use more efficient manufacturing. It'll shoot a round with better range and terminal ballistics. It will not bring hot gas back into the action.
What's her name, Jow Forums? And how long must I wait...
Given how the whole firearm industry has plateaued for the last decade or two, there probably won't be a true AR-15 and 5.56x45mm replacements for quite some time.
here's a current pic. It's been a long road > buy non-cycling gun for some stupid reason > won't lock back or pick up next round > i'm told it's the mags lol > castle nut finger tight and mauled to hell > the buffer retention pin has already been sheared off. > that's why the bubba I got her from sprung for the shit sling mount plate
> be me > discover buffer tube is out of spec - too long, that's what sheared off the pin > file buffer tube into spec > use screwdriver to push and stock like hammer to tighten castle nut > i'll get around to staking one day > upper leaks like the titanic after iceberg > short stroking like a bitch > new upper and g2g thanks for coming to my ted talk
I'm not answering that call. AR180 is a poorfag rifle that sucks ass and is bad.

I don’t think so, guy. Mature tech is mature tech - certain designs of sword were used for 1000+ years continuously.
Joseph Moore
but all decent designs copied her homework

Socialism unironically has a better history of defending gun rights.

This. I'm pretty sure we've reached something close to the peak of gunpowder based firearms development. Any improvements over the AR platform will likely be iterative rather than paradigmatic. A true replacement will likely use some kind of future technology which either doesn't use gunpowder propellant or doesn't rely on tossing little chunks of metal around at high velocity.
Josiah Torres
>It'll be lighter
Nope. Aluminum a shit. Ask anyone who's bent a receiver screwing in a barrel. Aluminum is a joke for gun manufacture, we need to go back to steel and just not have an army of basedboys. Certain armies have a test for their rifles where they run it over with a truck. The AR simply will not function after that. You can't even mortar the damn thing or you bend the buffer tube and your BCG gets stuck back there leaving you with a game over malfunction. The fact that they didn't make even the buffer tube out of steel is a joke. The pocket protected nerd who made that rifle didn't know shit about warfighting guns.
prostitution is actually legal where i am i reall wish it was the other way around

>No sir, officer, I'm paying her to star in a POV porno

>we've reached something close to the peak of gunpowder based firearms development I'd argue more centerfire cartridge-based development, but honestly I don't see that getting replaced until an entirely new method of propelling tiny bits of metal into things we don't like is made, since caseless seems to be going nowhere.
The reliability, cheapness, and long-term storage capacity of centerfire ammo coupled with the fact that assault rifles reached mature technology status decades ago means what we see now (centerfire AK/AR-15/AR-18s) is what we're going to get for decades to come.
Joseph Anderson
I wish your mom's decision to not have aborted you was the other way around
Easton Butler
you've never touched an AR-15 in your life
Carter Cooper
>Ask anyone who's bent a receiver screwing in a barrel Well I'll know that person's a retard from the get-go since you need to practically be lifting yourself off the torque wrench to make the upper receiver warp.

>reds killed billions!
Samuel Baker
These. What the fuck is there left to do besides Star Wars/Star Trek laser beam weapons?
Tfw you will never see what guns look like in the year 3019
Chase Allen
Okay. When can we expect these? Otherwise, just stick with the AR/AK platforms until then.
Blake James
Lmao name one time it has

>>Having never owned a gas piston AR15
You poor thing.

>certain armies run a gun over Those armies are retarded. Aluminum is good for certain parts of a gun just like how steel would be a terrible thing for a grip to be made of.
