where did you get these from?
how do you know this, and what is the message they're trying to convey? Is it just that war sucks? or is there a deeper message I'm missing
Dominic Adams
Bullets are cheaper than rope
Noah White
Bullets are needed for the enemy.
Oliver Nelson
Not the one that you replied to but the sentences translate to anti-nationalist remarks and not just the usual anti war stuff.
"Defender of his fatherland" in quotations with the intend to mock instead of the usual "Dead german soldier 1917" that would be found in actual anti war books. Just my guess
Thomas Perez
makes sense. cheers!
Daniel Stewart

bullets can only be used but once
Joseph Lewis
It is indeed VERY obvious.
But even if the "operators" on /k don't like it, I think it's a good thing to get a glimpse of the reality of war from time to time.

Hot damn, that endless field of decaying horses is like something out of Berserk.
Connor Lewis
you generally need the person to be compliant to stage a hanging. not like you could just hang all your enemies.
was there no penal battalion that they could stick all these meat bags into?
Samuel Powell
It's hard to comprehend the scale at which horses died in the world wars, in WWI Britain alone lost over 484,000 horses (that's about one horse casualty for every two men). I can't even picture that many horses alive, let alone being killed.
>The German Army entered World War II with 514,000 horses,[13] and over the course of the war employed, in total, 2.75 million horses and mules;[16] the average number of horses in the Army reached 1.1 million.[26]
I can't comprehend the idea of a million horses, hundreds of thousands of which died. that's a ton of fuckin horses, and even more stuff to keep them fed
Henry Hughes
this
