Alright k duty gun thread. Thinking of picking up a sig sp2022 as a duty gun. Good or bad choice and what do you guys use for work. Recommendations are welcome too.

A 2022 is adequate and plenty reliable, but not the most ergonomically friendly thing on the market.
I recommend a G17 to anyone who’s not familiar with full-size semiautos. If you really want a Sig, the P320 (any size) and P229 are great. P226 is a little big and unwieldy if you have smaller hands.

Looking at a variety of guns and got it down to a sp2022, full size usp 9mm or a fn 509 and a few other options. I just dig the poly framed 2022 for some reason. I would buy another fnx tacticle but not looking to blow another grand.

It's alright OP. Like a plain jane in a sea of roasties (glocks). Personally, I like my CZ75 SP-01 Phantom way better. Just looks and feels... Good. Idk. EEA witness is also pretty much the same as the CZ from the ones I've shot, plus it takes CZ75 mags and has conversions to 10mm and 40sw

I've been issued an:
- H&K USP in 40sw
- Beretta 92FS in 9mm
- Glock 22 in 40sw
I personally prefer a glock 17 since its lighter and it is what I shoot best
I did, however, used my dads p226 in 9mm years ago to qualify since I was 20, that was nice too
tldr what ever you want that's proven and u shoot well
also protip get a Safari Land holster and a good belt

Not a terrible choice. I ended up going with the SIG 229 in .40 which I carry on duty and I carry a SW M&P 2.0 compact in .40 to cut a bit of weight. I honestly like the latter a little better but both are great.
