I spent over a thousand dollars building an AR after sandyhook, it didnt even run well. It was a carbine gas system and I was too dumb to know what different buffer weights were.
That was 7 years ago, and it took me a completely new upper, furniture, 2 stage trigger, and a 6-24x scope to have it do what I wanted it to do.
The only parts that are the same now are the pins, mag release, lower, and buffer tube.
It has been a loooong time.

I bought a gaming laptop but only used it junior year of college because it was too big and I never played games on it.

As far as guns though, I kind of regret getting an SR-22, it isn't a bad gun but my wife ended up actually keeping it for home defense and with the safety/decocker it's not great for that.

Plus I just don't use it much. Kind of wish I got a 22/45 instead.

Also I regret buying an armalite M15 HBAR, I replaced the barrel and now I just kind of want to build a more contemporary gun from scratch.

I have spent 10x more than that on Japanese swords all together. For Japanese sword collectors proper $2600 is on the cheap side for a hobby that regularly sees 15-20k swords bought and sold. Unlike chinese made stuff they hold or increase their value quite well.

Kids that grew up with smart phones. They can't even do a single pull-up or tie a knot because they have no coordination or grip. It's why they can't even get teenage boys to volunteer to be pornstars in Japan, they're deleting themselves from the gene pool.

That's why I asked OP why he bought newly made swords rather than antiques. 2600 is certainly on the low end for a real sword, but you can get real ones at that price point, and at least it's a historical object whose value will appreciate with time. And honestly, if you shop around you can find some amazing deals. I used to browse Nihonto.com a lot, I've seen pieces that were appraised at $10-15k be marked down to a third of that.
