I just got an AR, and am working on getting familiar with field stripping. About my 4th time taking it apart, I noticed that the firing pin slid back just a little bit from the bolt assembly. It didn't fall out, and the function check went fine. I redid the whole process 2 or 3 more times and it's still sliding back a tad. Do I have any practical use for the added magnification and optical clarity of the Razor HD, or should I get a TR24R instead?
I'm leaning toward the Accupoint, since it's nearly half a pound lighter, doesn't need batteries, is going to spend most of its life on 1x anyway, and is significantly less expensive than the Razor.

Yes, you are retarded. This sliding action is what lets the firing pin not strike the primer while a round is entering battery - then slam forward to strike the primer during firing. If it were fixed forward then it would slamfire. If it were fixed rearward then it would never fire.

If you're mounting it on an AR you should probably go with the EXPS, which has a nice built-in lower-third QD mount.
The XPS is better for guns like AKs where you need a lower optic if you want a good chinweld.
