that nice
mor details?

manufactured between 1909-1910, fires the 7.65 Mauser/Argentine cartage. Remington copied the magazine release for many of their Mauser cloness

Might just be my favorite gun, have a bayonet for it too. Its fucking massive

Nice rifle, OP. I have a 1909 engineer's carbine. I agree that the 1909 is best Mauser.

Another man with the best variant of one of the best mausers

>cock on close
>superior

>tfw no 1909.
I'd love to replace my 1891 with a 1909 carbine, then get an 89 Belgian.

Cock on open is shit.

Are any Mauser action rifles cock-on-open? I thought that was the great advantage of the Enfield as a combat rifle, as it permitted faster cycling of the bolt. Argentine 1909 is still best Mauser.

> lighter
> faster
> slippery cartridge doesn't even notice a crossbreeze until 850m
> no recoil
> carry more bullets
> made of better steel and better looking by far
> reasonable bolt throw instead of that stupid 90 deg thing sticking straight out
so yeah. not even close

Thank you! I wish it were not in storage in another city, or I would take pics to post. I took my first deer with it when I was 14, it has been very special to me ever since.

OP is not a faggot (today). fact.

Yeah obendorf Swedish Mauser's are the best Mauser's made by Germany. 1895 is probably the best. Getting issued a 1895 swede carbine at the time, would be like getting a super secret info try laser weapon today.

>I have a slightly better bolt action rifle than the other guy who also has a bolt action rifle.

>Are any Mauser action rifles cock-on-open?
All of them but the Models 1889-thru-1896.

>reasonable bolt throw instead of that stupid 90 deg thing sticking straight out
All Mausers have a 90° bolt throw.

>I have a slightly better bolt action rifle than the other guy who also has a bolt action rifle.

Wow. I just realized I've gone my whole life thinking cock-on-open was cock-on-close and vice versa. Thank you for pointing that out.

Wait, were any of these made by DWM?

Bump for answers and ebin Argie thread

>Wait, were any of these made by DWM?
All the 1909 infantry rifles and Engineer's carbines were made by DWM in Berlin. The M1909 cavalry carbines were made by DWM, and after 1946 by FMAP in Argentina.

>I thought that was the great advantage of the Enfield as a combat rifle, as it permitted faster cycling of the bolt
This is wrong. The Enfield is SLIGHTLY faster because it doesn't require as much rotation and deposits the hand right at the trigger. Also, when reload time is factored in, it is not faster at all than a traditional Mauser action.

hands down, everything the germans, austrians
fn and chech let out for south america in mauser patterns is peak surp stuff. the argies were swimming in money from them potassium mines, so they ordered the s class with all luxury gadgets from that benz among rifles.

Swedish Mausers were the best, prove me wrong!

For me, it's the 1908 Brazilian contract, love the 7mm Mauser. I'd love to find the carabine version to pair her up with her big sister.

>the carabine version
Wasn't one. Some M1907 commercial carbines, and an M1908 short rifle, but no M1908 carbine. Brazil bought some M1922 carbines from FN as well.

Thanks, I might need one of those carbines

If the 1908/34 is not a carabine I don't know what it is.

Which options are you referring to? Not that I disagree, I am just curious. Also, mine does not have the bolt takedown disk, strange

I believe ya

>If the 1908/34 is not a carabine I don't know what it is.
It's a short rifle.

Mauser 98 pattern came in three barrel lengths: 450mm carbine, 550-600mm short rifle, 750mm infantry rifle.
>pic related, 450mm barrel of M1907 export carbine as ordered by Brazil

That is cool as shit. I have a serious love for bayonets

Mauser/DWM will sell you whatever you want however you want it.

The P14 is the best Mauser ever manufactured by any cunt. Fact.
