What language does it speak?

German with a funny accent

My most recent purchase. Beautiful 1942 Mosin 91/30. Looks like it was never arsenal refinished for storage, so no gross black finish and the stock isnt shellac'd. Generally appears like it wasnt really used, but magazine doesnt match so eh. Love the brass handguard and this strange blue painted "5" on the stock.

Even got the accessories in the mail today as well, ready for range Saturday

Wheres tacicool rails?

"We're out on the range today so please bear eith gunfire. Now what I wanted to talk about today..."

Recently picked up a K31. Is there any other round I can shoot out of it other than 7.5x55? I only ask because I don't want to spend over a dollar a round just to go have fun on the range.

>shoot vz52
>cry everyshot because 7.62x45 is dead caliber
Alois Farlik thank you.

Start reloading

no cases available.

Ordered Colt 1903 firing pin spring for ruby pistol. Tried Dreyse around midnight.
>new-to-me dreyse 1907
>watch jewtube disassembly vid
>fieldstrip to clean and inspect
>crush thumb trying to push button on the back
>1 rewatch later realize it goes to side
>struggle with barrel bushing/recoil spring
>2 rewatches later, noticr slide slightly lifted
>fieldstrip complete!
>gently clean
>reassembling barrel bush/recoil spring
>harder going in than coming out
>too hard
>hand slips, bushing and spring fly out
>ricochet off desk, bounces off forehead and splits
>phone catches spring
>RIP screen protector
>3 hour search for bushing
>flew across room, under chair
>reassembly take 2
>under a towel this time
>finally force it all back together
Took a nap afterwards. Don't regret buying, but real frustrated with it.

PPU is well under a dollar a round, you can reload it for even less

could be worse

Attached: Capture.jpg (629x186, 19K)

ppu for 8x56r steyrs is an excellent factory ammo.

pic related shoots kinda 1-2" groups with ppu. brass is good too, you can resell it for 10 ct per brass to reloaders.

>buy ammo at high cost
>shoot it
>reload cases as many times as possible

it's steel case, and no dies are available.

Well that sucks. I'm guessing you're the vz52 guy? You could always do the 7.62x39 conversion sleeve if you were feelin like a bubba

If there is a surplus why are they so over priced?

Keeps the peasants disarmed.

So what are some good surplus weapons that haven't yet been price gouged by hipster tax in 2019? The tt-33 comes to mind as a good cheap surp gun.

Carcano
TT-33
P-38s are on the start of the wave
M38
Remington nuggets

I can play too!

What is a good price for an "Antique" Mosin M39? I suspect they're worth a bit more since you do not need an FFL to conduct the transfer. Are they any different from non-antique M39s?

>What is a good price for an "Antique" Mosin M39?
That all depends on the receiver manufacturer, the barrel manufacturer, which Finnish factory/arsenal put the rifle together, and the overall condition of the rifle and what parts are matching.
>I suspect they're worth a bit more since you do not need an FFL to conduct the transfer.
Correct, they usually bring a premium because of their unregulated status.
>Are they any different from non-antique M39s?
Functionally no.

That makes me wet.

What are good no-tap or no-mod scope mounts for the lee enfield no4? Ive always REALLY wanted a scoped enfield as a makeshift battle rifle.

gee three MAS-36s? Why?

For your YouTube channel about old, less well known firearms

Where the fuck do you get ammo for that thing?

Then reload.

To be fair only 2 of the MAS 36's are mine. I still need a pre-war one.

Attached: IMG_9271.jpg (4272x2848, 3.82M)

its a mas36/51.
all lg48 were converted to 51 afaik.
the only difference is the caliber of the grenade, respectively its lauch cup or however that is called. 48 was french, 51 was the universal nato caliber.

North African colonial troops, didn't have to pay much because of how beat up it was but historically speaking it's pretty neat.

>7.5x55 is 7.62x45

holy brainlet.

>t. Brainlet that can't follow the replies back to the anonymous individual who told 7.62x55 and 7.62x45 guy to reload, then another anonymous stated he couldn't find cases without specifying which of the above he was, thus creating confusion for anyone who wanted to put up a link for relevant cases

Vetterli gang

Got my first rifle, a Yugo mauser 24/47 recently.
What's the first thing you do with rifles you buy from gunbroker?
Gun is beautiful but seems very oily.

>you can resell it for 10 ct per brass to reloaders.

i dont know any reloaders. I have just been putting my ppu brass in the brass bin. Where are thes magical goblins who will buy brass online?

I'd buy 8x57 because I'm learning how to load.
Another part of me just wants to buy ammo then mess with the remaining brass, though.

Dies are a one time purchase for $85.
What ya got buddy?

Hurry up user

Price check

gunbroker.com/item/810766980

Not unreasonable.

Damn, i was hoping it wouldve been high. Im not in the states right now anyways so i couldnt buy it.

The manufacturing year on my new M95 is a bit faded. I'm seeing 16 but a friend insists on 15. Thoughts?

Attached: stamp.jpg (1179x707, 110K)

So let's say that I have a wooden stock that's been refinished by some asshole.
Would it be possible to unfinish it?
Like finish it once more but in a way that resembles the old finish?

Sure. Just refinish it in a historically accurate way

How should I go about it?
Looks like the guy sanded the stock already and I'm afraid of taking off too much.
It's a Ljungman by the way.

>
its intercheangeable with .308 and 7.62x39. those are the common plinking calibers people shoot out of their k31s here in the states

I wouldn't re sand, just strip the finish chemically and reapply whatever you want

How sort of chemicals can I use?
And do you or anyone happen to know what kind of finish the Swedes used on their guns?
Here's a picture of what it's looking like right now.
It's a bit more shiny and smooth in person.

Attached: IMG_0084.jpg (3630x2623, 1.51M)

Clarification so OP doesn't explode himself, you would need to convert (i.e. ruin) it to these rounds. Don't put a .308 in a K31 expecting it to bang properly

Ah fuck, that's a purrty gun

Higher end of average. A fair deal but not a bargain.

What's a good price for a Kar98AZ these days? How big of a price difference is there between a bolt mismatch one and an all matching one?

Attached: fa7536b1cd346005928538787ba670f6.jpg (1021x600, 100K)

Honestly I don't. I've never fucked around with finishing guns. Someone here or on gunboards will know though

You're better off leaving it alone, you're really only going to make it worse. But, it's your choice to further fuck shit up. The Swedes used a mixture of linseed oil and turpentine. If you want to strip the finish denatured alcohol will do.

Vast majority are bolt mismatch so the premium on bolt matching os rather large. Be sure to look for fake restamped numbers on the bolt.

>tfw might sell the bench tomorrow

Attached: 20190704_065727-3024x2268.jpg (3024x2268, 1.86M)

What is a good price for a bolt mismatched one then? I don't mind a mismatch, I just want one with a very nice bore and good wood for a good day at the range. Also, will standard K98k slings work on a Kar98AZ?

Not OP but you can make it from .348 Winchester or 8mm lebel brass. The Swiss vetterlis (OP's) are rimfire and you have to convert them to centerfire, which is pretty easy. Italian vetterlis are centerfire and some were converted to 6.5 carcano in WW1 as an emergency. You can't shoot full power loads safely. I love mine, it's in very good shape.

Attached: IMG_20190628_173953623.jpg (3975x1600, 3.13M)

I love guns with numbers on them. My old SMLE had a white 1 painted on the stock, and I thought it was the coolest thing ever. Sold it and I don't have any pictures, just look up an old DP SMLE to see what I mean

If you post your brass here for reasonable prices, people will buy it. Myself included.

Recent acquisition

Attached: DSC_1667.jpg (3840x2160, 3.21M)

There is one that has been sitting in my LGS for a long time in great shape for 250. I've been wanting to buy it, but having to handmake ammo for it is really offputting.

Ive been looking into a Hungarian M95. I seen some good reviews on them. Shuld I do it.

If you want one and can deal with the ammo situation.

Attached: 20171113_115546.jpg (3718x904, 3.01M)

ill be that hipster that gets outshot by everyone because i couldnt get ammo.

I reload for my Arisakas, how difficult is it finding shells and dies for other meme rounds?

I have someone trying to trade a M95 for 400rds of GP11.

Should I? I sold my K31 to a friend.

Attached: image1.jpg (480x640, 161K)

the m95's ive seen go for i think 390? Its about 280 for 480 GP11 so id say do it unless you don't want it.

Steyr in question.

Attached: image2.jpg (640x480, 103K)

GP11 ain't that cheap anymore. But its what I paid for it.

I'd still go for it, personally.

Somewhat recently acquired the most Frankengun thing I own, it's a P 38 with three different serial numbers. Two are easily identifiable, slide and barrel being from 1941 but different months, but the frame confuses me. The serial number is on the right side and also it's a 5 digit number with no letter attached. I tried google but found nothing useful, any info would be appreciated.

I think I might, although I had another guy wanting to trade 300rds for a AB10.

Why won’t the bayonet lock all the way back on my Kar98k? It’s a Yugo Capture, but both the repro bayonet and an authentic one get to that point and go no further. I cleaned both as well as I could but still nothing.

Attached: D184E28F-7201-4611-A0A0-1713B7B066DC.jpg (3024x1932, 2.8M)

>Why won’t the bayonet lock all the way back on my Kar98k?
Is the cleaning rod too long? When you have the bayonets on the lug rail are they a little loose or is it already a tight fit? Sometimes you just have to muscle it on.

Attached: Gew98_Vz98_07-26-2018_ersatz_bayonets.jpg (1600x957, 1.46M)

Damn where do you live. Every one keeps Jewing me. I guess it comes down to which one you want more.

Inna desert outside of Reno. I've had good luck with guns and related things. Everything else, not so much.

Although not like having a AB10 is anything more than meme-tier. Which is exactly why I kind've want it.
