Probably just made a generic call over common frequencies. it apparently got within 1000 yards of the ship, which is pretty fucking close, before they shot it down. As it was a drone, them saying they broadcast for it to get away from them is just them covering their asses most likely. You fly something towards a US Navy ship with no communication, it's going to get shot down.
