>222 Remington.
That's a Frenchman's or wop's caliber since they can't own military calibers

I'd rather buy 204 ruger than 222.

Do you live in a country where .223 is allowed? Because .222 does everything that .223 does but costs 4x more due to not having economies of scale behind it.

That's no longer the case in France

.223 evolved out of 222 if I remember correctly

Anyway OP, either go for 223 for cheapness factor or up to 22-250, maybe .243 as they're a little more flexible and longer ranged

Good for them.

.222 was the bees knees before .223. It used to have the reputation for being one of the most precise target rounds available.

Now 224 Valkyrie on the come up.... Until 225 arises.

why do you want it?

I carry a .222 because they don't make a .223

way ahead of you

Isn't that a veirling? Drilling = 2 barrels.

>6.5 creedmoor
>not .300winmag
its like you want to poke at distance instead of penetrate

No this is a Drilling, "Normaldrilling", two shotgun barrels side by side with a rifle barrel under it.
In this picture you see a second rifle barrel that has been inserted in the left shotgun barrel, which gives you the added advantage of having a small caliber rifle.
My drilling has 12/70, .222 Rem, 7x57R

Get .307 winchester

Thats how the "Einstecklauf" looks like installed.

Get because trips

The only thing .223 has in its favor is availability, price, and about 100-200 more FPS. Everything .223 can do .222 does better minus shooting a little flatter over an additional 50 yards. .222 has less recoil, more accuracy, less report, easier to handload for, but does all of this at a greater price.

>.380 acp
>no .300 blackout
I haven’t shot either but I know enough to call you a stupid nigger

This. .223 only came about because the AR had a hard time feeding the locker necked .222 from its magazine, and once .223 was adopted and became ubiquitous the .222 started fading away due to the massive availability of the .223. It’s still around though, and I’d you're wanting a dedicated bolt action for varminting out to 200 yards tops and are willing to deal with the more limited supply of ammo the .222 is very hard to beat.

If you’re a good shooter you will notice the difference in performance between .222 and .223, but if you’re average at best you really won’t. If you’re the kind of person wanting to put multiple rounds through the same hole at 150 yards the .222 will do it easier than the .223. If you’re the kind of person who is fine being minute of squirrel at whatever reasonable distance you’re shooting at then the .223 is perfectly fine.

underrated
