These are the most hated people on Jow Forums because they make Jow Forums feel inadequate. Most people on Jow Forums have a handful of half informed opinions and a half dozen affordable common firearms they shoot on occasion. GT and Ian male their livings with firearms, have intense practical and educational experience with firearms and go cool places and shoot cool guns on the regular. Both are considered industry experts and influence lots of people.

This makes Jow Forums seethe. So they hate them.

Neither are hated by Jow Forums. Garandthumb is hated by some guy from /v/ who wants to REEEE about e-celebs, because everyone has to be miserable like him. No one is allowed to talk about and enjoy guns he can't afford.

Ian is hated by three groups of people: a handful of Jow Forumsfags butthurt he doesn't advocate for African genocide in response to South Africa having an absurd crime rate; a bunch of antiguns looking to undermine one of the more effective progun voices on the internet, and some people asspained about Karl being kind of a cunt.

He has quite a few videos where he shoots, though. Personally, I find disassembly and history more interesting than just watching a dude shoot without any context or information about the gun, but shooting videos are still cool if there's some information alongside the shooting.

I do feel like the majority of long time Jow Forums users hate Garand Thumb. It's just easy to have a viral marketing team make posts supporting him. Maybe I'm too old but I don't see how anyone can fawn over an internet personality. I go shooting every weekend and during the week I'll check out some videos on shooting techniques or maybe a gun review for my next purchase. I don't really give a fuck about someones personality or needing to be entertained.
