Why would anybody prefer a cheytac rifle over a mcmillan tac 50?

Assuming you had 10 grand to spend on a rifle. The tac 50 crushes any cheytac and is more reliable with cheaper ammo.

Cringe call of duty thread.

Because .50 bmg isn't a particularly good or consistent round. Thats why most of those queer proprietary rounds larger than 7.62 exist, to fulfill a role that .50 cant reliably. Its why .338, .416, and .408 were made, and why .300wm was adopted.

Basically .50 hits hard, but not well, opening a market for all the meme loads.

Dude youre full of shit. 50 bmg is a fantastic round. Its mass makes it more of a cannon than a gun, and cannonball rounds have much more inertia and resistance to wind deflection.
If the tac 50 wasnt good at range there would be no chance of a 2 mile killshot. Its obvious that the barret 50s range is shit but the tac 50 is nothing like the barrett. Closed bolt, solid barrel, etc. the tac 50 is the best option for the 50 bmg round and you could probably use it on big african game unlike the cheytac 408

I agree with everything you said but the last line, big calibres make up for human error. If someone had a quarter minute gun and could shoot it that well while being fucked up the ass, they could take an elephant with 308win, safely and humanely. 408, cheytac is a super magnum, well in the range of 357 H&H. Now I dont really think there are any good hunting rounds for 408 cheytac so I dont really suggest anyone do it. But a bonded 408 cheytac would be a beast of a dangerous game round.

What does bonded mean user?

Also you mean 375 h and h right?

DESU I'd prefer an Anzio takedown over any movie or vidya fiddycal.

Jacket basically glued to the lead core, sometimes with a partition. The purpose is to optimally balance mushrooming against weight retention.

You gotta admit at a certain point a rounds size is overkill/too much.
50 bmg is perfect

So what goes into the $10k price tag?

unobtanium metallurgy? grinding lapping and reaming?

a chunk goes to work hours put into it, but most of that goes into exclusivity and low demand.

You can buy a Intervention rebuild in Germany for 5-6K $. Germans blasting it for competition and fun

It’s a fancy way of saying “soldered”
Lots of bullets are just swaged and have a lead core pressed into a copper jacket.
When they bond them, they use flux and heat the bullets up until the lead core flows and solders to the jacket

who manufactures it

Fortmeier and the price is 4K.
Made for barrel swaps between 308,338,375,408? and 50BMG

>If the tac 50 wasnt good at range there would be no chance of a 2 mile killshot.
you know these extreme range hits are the result of just lobbing bullets until a hit is made right?
>day 1: missed 3x
>day 2: no shots fired
>day3: missed 5x hit once
type thing. 50s generally arent very accurate and I think it has a lot to do with weight limitations and the huge strain/vibrations they put on the gun when fired.

you could use a copper mono non expanding and kill anything alive on earth ethically with a 408. For medium game its base diameter is the size of a common expanded .264 caliber bullet, for large game that's still adequate and itll probably start tumbling with its fucklong bullet to add, and for african large game penetration is king anyways and Im fairly confident it would pass through both sides of an elephant.

this
Huge in size high quality steels that need consistent properties throughout in low production actions, chassis, and barrels that have to be cut to perfection

Machining is expensive...

Every time somebody breaks a new record it's a big deal then we inevitably find out it was walked on target

Yup. Cheytac walks its shit. Tac 50 has confirmed kills at way more than a 408 round can carry

>Basically .50 hits hard, but not well
Are you retarded?
