The StG-44 would have won the Eastern Front for Germany in WW2 had they been designed, mass produced and issued to all Waffen-SS and Heer infantry in 1941. This extraordinary rifle for the time is not given nearly the credit it deserves

Sage

>literally everyone in the fucking world who knows anything about gun development credits it with being the first real assault rifle, inspiring most others, and introducing many functional concepts that are still in use today or inspired derivatives still in use today

Shit bait thread.

>the credit it deserves
Influencing the most popular rifle ever isn't enough?

Does it make Oil?

Sarin would have won the Eastern Front for Germany had it been applied to Stalingrad in large quantities.

It is the first assault rifle in the world, an outstanding example of German innovation and ingenuity

I really don't think gas would have made a huge difference

>getting your design ripped off by the Judeo-Bolsheviks
>enough
Lol no

And? Doesn't mean it could win a war.

Shit thread

The eastern front was decided by armor and artillery and lack of transportation, not manflesh or personal arms.

>Small arms are going to win the war.

Not with a staggering disparity in aircraft and artillery they aren't.

More importantly, supply/fuel to use said armor/artillery. Even if Germany had fully motorized, it was still plagued by constant fuel shortages throughout the war. Having all trucks rather than horses doesn't do you much good when gasoline is constantly in short supply.

no it wouldn't have

Mhm. In retrospect it is hard to understand why the Germans did not plan the transportation issues better. German trains did not match Russian railtracks. German trucks could not run on Russian fuel. German planes could barely make it from one airstrip to the next and when they did the payloads were still puny. It's almost as if someone forgot to invite the logistics guys to the strategy planning meetings.

what about wood 4 fuel u dingus

plant enough trees and you could technically be at war forever! While we're at it, you could also mount the stg44s to every truck. As a matter of fact, you could mount them to the wheels so that when they spin they shoot bullets in every direction and kill everyone. Hitler sure was fuckin stupid

>if Germany magically had more production power and was more advanced, it would have won
Gee really?

You'd have to make it some sort of wheel that spun sideways though, hurling bullets into the air wouldn't be very effective. Unless you made them explosive rounds, then it would be like an artillary type effect everywhere they went . But you'd have to time it so that when it pointed at the ground it wouldn't shoot, sort of like the thing with propellors and planes.

Wood gas generators were in large scale use in Germany during WW2. Gazogene fueled many types of engine including even tanks. It did not suffice to cover the needs. Also vehicle production was a teensy bit bothered by the bombings, not to mention transport of these vehicles across bombed and strafed roads and railways.

Just plant more trees baka. Maybe the fuel wasn't efficient enough. They could try planting roman cauliflower, that stuff is like infinite fractal if you look at it closely. Infinite perimeter = infinite mass = infinite energy

Patented idea, please do not steal under penalty of gas

It would literally change nothing, just a bunch of dead commies

Well Rommel getting beaten in Egypt kind of ruined their play for middle eastern oil, and they certainly weren't getting any from Russia or the USA so...

Incorrect. All of these issues could have been avoided had the war been won quickly as Hitler intended and as Poland had gone, and this could have been done with infantry armed with StuGs instead of shitty bolt action rifles.

It's actually over rated, especially because tactics would not have been used properly. It would have done nothing on the large scale.

No.
A good gun does not feed or clothe poorly supplied troops.

That's what I get for using google translate

Wouldnt even put it at that level. Small arms just dont make that much of difference when you've got artillery, armor, and aviation against you. In a war of attrition your wunderwaffen rifle doesnt mean shit when t34 serial number 84,000 rolls over your fox hole.

Apparently France didnt believe in radio communication
