This leads me to ask: is there any way I can CNC mill new parts for a Chauchat or SKS as long as I use similar steel alloy and am within tolerance for when I wear down my barrels and receiver through use? I really don't see why not but it can't be this simple legally or technically

So a 9310 alloy for the receiver and barrel. I could do finishing for the receiver, but chrome lining a barrel might be difficult for a home workshop, I've never done that. Corner milling might be tough too but I could get that. Good call on the Chauchat sleeve.
