What's the modern Minuteman musket?

What's the modern Minuteman musket?
To qualify, it must be
>cheap and readily available to average poorfags in any state
>simple to use and maintain
>Accurate enough
>Able to fire a very common and inexpensive cartridge
>A rifle pattern weapon

What it does NOT have to be (not what it SHOULD NOT be, just what it does not HAVE to be):
>Exceedingly accurate (pretty
>Semiauto (it doesn't, as long as it's still able to be battle effective in some capacity)

>Dirr it's the ar15!
Nope. See:
>cheap and readily available to average poorfags in any state
Any weapon such that the bog standard cheapo model costs more than a whole paycheck working full time at minimum wage is not eligible.
>lol poorfags
Yes, that's the point. more technologically superior weapons existed in the revolutionary period, but the minutemen used smoothbore muskets because they were cheap and easy to use. Also califags have to be able to get it too.
So what is it?

Attached: 619px-Minute_Man_Statue_Lexington_Massachusetts_cropped.jpg (619x1024, 118K)

M14

A used AR

A hipoint or a cheap one shot shotgun

If a $400 AR is an entire paycheck to you, then theres an issue

ARs were literally $250 like, a week ago. Unless you want to cuck everyone to the same level as californian, its the AR. And if you did, I'd tell you an AR with a fin. What, do you want everyone to use dads old durr rifle, or some cheap shit fucking .22lr they get at a pawn shop? Your requirements exclude almost everything in the price bracket of
>lol less than a paycheck
On top of that, why the fuck would you want someone that can't afford a decent rifle in your gay little minutemen militia?

Attached: 1551308060427.jpg (200x179, 14K)

Attached: 1480846685670.jpg (640x496, 52K)

It's literally an AR15. It is common across the entire US. Ban states aren't the norm. They're like....$350 average now. That is cheap. If you can't afford that, you are below poor. You'd be the dude in the revolution beating a drum or getting a spare.musket from the French and indian war stockpile. Minimum wage is a shit standard to .... I don't even know how you've tied that in but get a better job.

Anything cheaper? There isn't. Base model bolt guns start at $300-350, lever actions are higher in price.

Pistols aren't primary's.

A shotgun can be had for $200 but you asked about rifles, which even back in the day, a shotgun versus a musket were two different firearms.

>ARs were literally $250 like, a week ago
I'm so sorry to hear you've been in a coma since 2006.

Me on the right btw.

>Every minuteman had brand new infantry muskets

Also, it is the AR15. Maybe not the last decade but production has reached a level where acceptable ARs are incredibly cheap today. literally at or below government M4A1 procurement prices.
> Also califags have to be able to get it too.
Lol no.

the proportions are straight out of Metal Slug

Ar15 over ak47 WAsr10?

Um, yeah? ARs are infinitely more ubiquitous in the US than AK-pattern rifles. They’re also cheaper and a significantly greater value for your money due to the aforementioned availability.

Yes in the US because of supply/manufacturing capabilities.

KEK

No because aks are sexy and the charging handle isn't gay

AR is closer to 500$,
It wasn't the well off or even the satisfied that fought or ever fight. Its the poor and desprate for something better.
Who do you think is going to fight superior forces and die by the thousands, Social security pensioners.
Or the 3 million homeless.
The answer is 22lr. Its cheap enough, accurate enough and ammunition is available in every state.
The AR will be the cannons.

>ARs are the same price as nuggets

Attached: 402.jpg (320x265, 11K)

ARs are literally the best selling rifle in the US. If you don't have an AR by now I don't know what to tell you. This thread is bad and OP should feel bad.

>cheap
I was trying to find a modern perspective of what a Long Rifle cost in 1775
It’s almost impossible to convert colonial money to current dollars, but this gave a decent perspective. Figure a hunter needed 2 days of hunting and skinning to buy a rifle
If you figure 2 days wages @$15 for a rifle that’s $260.
I found a BLS stat that said wagies in 2019 made $47,060 a year @ 40 hour work week. That’s $22.60 an hour, so that’s $360.
So I think $260-360 is a fair price range.

>Any weapon such that the bog standard cheapo model costs more than a whole paycheck working full time at minimum wage is not eligible.
The US minimum wage is 7.25 dollars per hour, the definition of full time is at least 30 hours per week, so if I'm not mistaken a full time monthly salary in the US should be at least 870 USD, well above the price of an AR.

>Implying
You were probably in elementary school back then newfag, but AR15s are 40-25% of what they used to cost. Back in the dark ages ARs were expensive and something like a basic bitch $1000 colt was what you'd see at your LGS.

You can build a psa or Anderson rifle A N Y time for $3-350. Wait for a deal and a patrol rifle can be built for $250.

Hell, Ruger and the m&p15 are routinely $450-500. OP is a literal downie retard if he can't hold a job that pays $250 a week.

Attached: 1563589028443.png (616x587, 743K)

To expand on why OP is retarded and why the AR is the American rifle of choice

>Cheap as dirt and ubiquitous
>Milspec is universal and the designs are publically licensed
Every metal shop in the country can and a lot do make AR accessories or parts. The contractor infrastructure for the m16 pattern is insanely large
>Parts commonality across all "militias" for magazines, spare parts, and ammunition
>Parts commonality with the rifle of the national guard and US army
>Parts, magazine, and ammo commonality with just about every police force in the country
>Ammo compatability with NATO. Parts and magazine commonality with a lot of NATO countries.
>Ammo compatability and magazine commonality with Mexicos service rifle
>Ammo, mag, part compatability with the Canadian service rifle

So one rifle that costs almost nothing due to the economy of scale that's compatable with just about every military and paramilitary organization in North America's parts and ammunition.

Underachieving NYer with

Psa ar15 is like 300-400$ you stupid poorfag.

Daily reminder that fudds, including revolverfags, leverfags, 1911fags, etc are enemies of the 2nd amendment and would be happy to see your ar's and glocks get taken away.

>Any weapon such that the bog standard cheapo model costs more than a whole paycheck working full time at minimum wage is not eligible.

Save up for a couple months?

Not even. 2 weeks tops if you're really bottom of the barrel min wage full time

But even then, it's a retarded requirement.

A few weeks back you could get an AR for like $300 new.
The average going rate is like $400-500 starting

Ar 15
Op is gay

During the revolution, it took the average man about a month's full wage to buy his musket. Not a week. So it would be an AR15 like a PSA with a holosun or entry lpvo, an Aero, or a BCM upper build.

>Any weapon such that the bog standard cheapo model costs more than a whole paycheck working full time at minimum wage is not eligible.
With a 40hr week at $8/hr, youre in PSA's AR15 Daily Deals.

>AR is closer to 500$,
>he doesnt know about PSA yet

>AR costing a whole paycheck
Even minimum wage is more than enough to buy a decent AR.

>hating on leverchads and wheelchads
Shit taste

The people who are buying AR arn't the ones anyone is worried about.
They already own firearms, they are either on a government pension or are hobbiest.
AR is a range toy for you and most others, a plaything.
So of course you wouldn't understand.

If you live in San Francisco, minimum wage is $15/hr. Elsewhere on the west coast it's about $12/hr. An AR is not outside the budget of somebody who isn't a complete retard with their money.

You are thinking that you will be in a squad of men with 3000$ rifles outgunning the GI's in a firefight.
Oh my AR, will be rare to the point of non-existent.
No men of the line will have them. Yours will be locked away in a safe or disposed of by the authority.

A musket was a useful everyday tool, not so with an AR.

Sights, Mags and ammo don't count.

>Rifle
>Not useful
...where do you think you are? Do you suffer from mental retardation?

Attached: 1468110095872.jpg (780x840, 113K)

You're fucking retarded if you believe this. Honestly, if you don't think that the cheapest and most widely available rifle in the country isn't going to see wide use during SHTF then you're missing some chromosomes.

Its the 22lr. AR rifles are not near as popular or as accessible as the 22.
There is impressions and then there is reality.
Reality it will be the 22lr. Not the AR.
So accept that or don't.

What exactly do you think disqualifies an AR from being utilitarian to the point of regular use?

If I'm gonna hypothetically shoot a supposed man-sized target, I sure as shit wouldn't go for a .22lr

You're literally a triple nigger if you don't think the AR qualifies because it's too expensive.
>PSA has them for literally $300. If your two week is less than that you have bigger problems

Firearms during the day of the American frontier were a significant investment for the average man. An average gunsmith spent weeks on a single firearm due to manufacturing techniques of the time. On top of raw materials this would usually ammount to months wages on an adequate weapon. The most time consuming part of creating most period firearms were constructing the stock and the lockwork, both of which are needed regardless of how "technologically superior"'other weapons from the time might have been

Basically you're underage and should read a book

Muskets were not "Cheap" which is why most families owned a single one and they were often passed down
A handmade firearm was extremely expensive even in the 1770s
two dozen deer is a lot of fucking deer

An AR15 is a very useful tool to farmers of all variety everywhere and might be to everyone left in the country soon.

Sorry, but despite your reasoning against it, it's still the AR, dummy. It can be had for very cheap and your arguments about it being too accurate/pretty/semi-auto is completely arbitrary and largely irrelevant.

Anything else would either be some form of cheap handgun or shotgun.

>b-b-but I cant impulse buy an ar15 on minimum wage

This whole post reeks of someone who has no idea what things cost and who is terrible with money and long term planning.
Having said that, I think Jow Forums is more your speed OP.

Lol you’re so wrong
It’s an AR-15, they’re cheap, accessible and compatible with the standing militia

OP when do you get the plaque for the Most Retarded Post of the Year?

Everybody post your most smug reaction images and call OP a retard

Attached: 14499000_1267976043221495_4998783625450225664_n.jpg (1080x1350, 1.65M)

Ah yes, I remember back in the day when my forefathers would till fields, carve out chairs, and cobble shoes with their muskets.

You fucking retard.

AR had a lot of bad press and it still does.
People don't see it in the same way as a 22 or even a shotgun.
AR is not a family rifle, its not seen as a Deer rifle or even a Home defense weapon.
22lr, shotgun or pistol is the families home defense weapon. Not the AR.
AR is seen as a range toy, Mall Ninja tac cool wantabee, complicated or just an overall unwanted eye sore, threat. Comfort is needed and AR lacks that comfort in a home environment this is the power of propaganda.
The prices can be expensive for a closet gun, not many receive an AR as a hand me down.
Pistols are more useful as either a carry weapon, home defense, small, light and out of the way.
Pistols are not as useful to a minute man, so that leaves only shotguns and 22lr.
22lr wins. So minute men will be using 22lr.
Cheap ammo, lots of hand me downs, and wide spread. Even if you don't own a 22lr you are most likely able to get one.
AR who's lending that 17 or 22 homeless kid their AR to raid post offices. But if a 22lr goes missing who cares its just a 22lr.

>not casting your own plowing rounds
>not sharpening the edges on your carving rounds
Think of all the uses of a craftsmen's rifle.

This
Even in “ban” states you can often still get the cuck compliant versions of an ar15. Even if it’s more expensive, people generally make more money in those cuck states. And when the boogaloo starts, do you think anyone is gonna give a shit about whether or not you are cuck compliant? Either the people in cuck states will grab a regular stock set and pistol grip, or they will be just as effective because cuck compliant just means it looks like a fudd gun. Last time I checked chuck did pretty good on that clocktower with what looked like a fudd gun. Hoorah faggots

Attached: Filename Pending (138).jpg (600x579, 42K)

That's not your worry your not going to be the one fighting.
That would be some homeless kid who wants to better his life and he wont have access to your Gucci AR.

>$400 covers the whole AR

Now I want to see a comedy skit of someone doing woodworking or blacksmithing by shooting things with different guns

>range toy
There literally isnt a single rifle in the US thats a better value for money than an AR. Why the hell would you pay $250 for a basic boltie when you could spend $350-500 on an AR? Seriously kill yourself.

>BUILDING and AR if you're a poorfag is cheap

>That's not your worry your not going to be the one fighting.
Maybe, maybe not. It all depends on just how forceful the ensuing grab is.
>That would be some homeless kid who wants to better his life and he wont have access to your Gucci AR.
I have seen actual hobos sleep in the bushes behind the warehouse I work at and then punch in for work the next day. They can get minimum wage jobs and work them just like everybody else. There are no hiring standards for these types of jobs besides passing a piss test (which is incredibly easy even if you are on something).
An AR sure as shit isn't unfeasible to purchase, even for a homeless person.

The musket was the Home defense, hunting and there was only one or two.
Not the arms locker of toys you have today.
They had nothing. Just a bunch of poor, homeless trespassers and they built this nation from the nothing they brought with them.
"Respect for history is lost in the younger generations."
Great khans Chief.

I'm not sure who's dumber, OP or the guy that raids handgun threads telling people not to buy hollow points and to instead buy FMJ because of muh penetration.

Single shot shotgun

>not getting hollow points for your carry piece for that sweet sweet exit wound
>potentially blowing holes in your walls if you're shooting a trespasser
Who the fuck is this stupid ass goon?

Nigger, ARs were like $1000 in 2006, pices at current levels weren't a thing till nearly a decade later

The thread is about the minute man rifle, not a thread why one rifle is better then another.
Its about what rifle will be used by those who are called upon in a minute to do dirty hard and fast, then ghost.
Its the 22lr, no other weapon comes close its its range, accuratecy or availability on a minutes notice.
The humble 22lr will be the rifle of choice for minute men.

Are you unironically retarded?

The AR15 is the most popular center-fire rifle in the US. People buy them for hunting rifles and home defense all the fucking time. Have you ever been to a gun range? Bay to Bay AR15s on the rifle line

Will mom only buy you a $90 used Marlin with your accumulated goodboy points or something?

Because no, a "militia" weapon is not going to be a tube fed .22 firing an unsealed unreloadable bullet stoppable by all soft armor that starts to destabilize at 75 yards. Read a book nigger.

Attached: 1535037792937.png (500x724, 229K)

Not sure if bait but AR15s have been and are becoming even more popular for hunting and home defense. At one time autoloading pistols had a similar negative view by the majority but now theyre standard.

Those who fight do not purchase their own weapons, ammo, food or supplies.
Their job is to show up and be ready, that's more then can be asked of anyone not getting paid.

>The musket was the Home defense, hunting and there was only one or two
and the AR does both as well.
the majority of people who have guns today have an AR or some other intermediate caliber autoloading rifle. anyone who would have to go out and buy a rifle now wouldnt be interested in defending the country.

ARs are closer to $350, look at palmetto State armory, Bear Creek arsenal, and other cheap options you no.internet having mong. I built my last for $340 with sights and mag.

-the ar will be the cannons

You're absolutely retarded or are projecting a larp. Let me guess, you're only gun is a 22lr and you want to feel significant? Your gun and caliber is shit

Yes, we've got to that point

It's still $300-350, build one

AR is not needed, minute men don't hit hard targets.
AR takes training, 22lr not as much.
AR will be cannons and used as cannons.
This idea in your head about AR is just that an idea. Reality is you use what is available to all, not specialist arms.
Cannons have there place, its just not the firearm that will be used by minute men.
Unless you have evidence that AR is more common the 22lr.

>gets shot at 300 yards by an a guy who doesnt even have to holdover with his AR
>gets shot trying to load his magazine tube one by one
>gets shot after wounding the other guy with a lucky hit
>even gets shot after managing to put 3 rounds center mass in the other guy at 30 yards
>gets shot after his lolrimfire malfunctions on the 2nd shot
>gets shot because the only thing exposed on the other guy was a head and rifle at 150 yards and you couldnt get the holdover and wind right
Youd be shilling for spears during the revolution.

Are....you retarded? They're both shooting lead, the AR just shoots more of it

A musket was actually good at hunting and fighting for the time. A .22 is useless outside of plinking and small game. Even pocket pistols come in .380 now. .22 is obsolete.

This is op

>This fucking autist thinks "Minuteman" is and ever was literal and the point wasn't to be armed, trained, and ready to respond

The modern Minuteman is a IIIer (even though most are larping)
IE a guy who owns a FULL COMBAT LOADOUT of an intermediate or battle rifle, 8+ magazines, several thousand rounds of ammunition, and to a lesser extent body armor.

No an autist like you with a pawn shop .22 isn't a "Minuteman".

$300 AR15 with iron sights
$70 AR500 shooters cut rifle plate in a chinkshit carrier or just a chest rig
10 $10 magazines
$150 in 5.56
All coming out to less than your average biweekly paycheck of a high schooler/loser autist making 7.33 an hour

That's the absolute bare minimum Omega poorfag tier "modern minuteman" McDonald's burger flipper budget loadout.

Attached: 185pxGI_wizard.png (185x261, 94K)

Attached: 1553158538444.jpg (644x610, 47K)

-not having multiple ARs

Op confirmed an absolute faggot

Damn, never looked at it like that. What a weird fucking world we live in

You are larping if you think the 3million homless and desperate, untrained and unfunded can access an AR on a minutes notice to sack some warehouse whos only resistance is clean up crew and a guard.
AR is not needed but a 22lr is.
Minute men will not be doing line formations, drills, taking or holding positions.
The minute men sack, cause diversions, and other general mayhem. For that task 22lr is the firearm most likely to be used.
Not a firefight with armed and armored police, swat, and military units.

Guys I think OP is likely underage.
>probably has one gun, a .22LR
>has almost certainly never fired a center fire rifle, especially an AR
>obsessed with LARPing as a "minuteman," prioritizes fantasy over reality
>has no idea the value of money or how much things irl cost, likely has never had a real job and still lives with parents

This dude is no older than 14-15.

That is an agressively autistically retarded or an opinion based solely on you not having more than $90 to your name.

>A centerfire rifle is the same as field ordinance. Who has 300 whole dollars?
>Why would anyone consider the same rifle with the same magazines and caliber used by the police, national guard, military, and just about every US gun owner to be the modern militia man's rifle of choice?

Attached: 1537893360043.gif (498x278, 615K)

Or he overdosed on the Appleseedpill

Minute men were farmers, clerks and other people who had a musket maybe two.
They didn't train, drill or do anything other then show up and do hit and runs.
Then they went back to farming and other jobs.
Until the next call to arms was needed.
They were not solders, they were just common people. That is what was so special about them.

What do you use an AR for every day a coat rack.

they had a rifle as good or better than the military

You mean... like the AR, which every militia from the shittiest of larpers to the National Guard is equipped with?

Seriously, it's like OP crawled out from the 80s or something.

do you use your marlin 22lr as a coat rack?

What fucking anime Wolfenstein rag tag combine fighting resistance movement horseshit

Name a reason, goal, or purpose where millions of homeless niggers what, start the beta uprising?

How does that play into fighting an enemy foreign or domestic or disaster mitigation?

How would your homeless untrained army of autists respond to say the bundy ranch standoff?

Because modern militias exist, are organized, and have responded to government oversteps in recent memory.
>They all have ARs, body armor, mechanization, unit organization, and specialized gear like DMRs, night vision, etc.

Attached: 1527214585220.jpg (720x378, 137K)

werent m1 carbines cheap then though? I dont even think people would show up with 22lr at any time period besides that one dude like OP.

How many have own field ordinance or even civil war cannon.
The closest thing common people have would be an AR, AK or deer rifle. So if that's all that you have then that is what you use.
"you go to war with the army you have not the army you want"
Guess who said that.

the PSA ar15.
build it yourself. cheap as hell.
