Try that, but your guess is as good as mine. Quite new to it myself. I use apple and rhubarb which have enough naturally occurring sugar.

People don't ash cigars retard, in cuba it's disrespectful and untraditional.
not ashing a cigar
so you've never had a cigar in polite society, or anywhere other than working in the field?
ashing a cigar occasionally helps the flavor, prevents it from going out, and keeps you from ending up with a pile of ash in your lap.
Camel red 99
lucky strikes or camel unfiltered
AKM and AK74 variants. The CZ 805 Bren is also pretty cool.
what is the correlation between ashing your cigar and working in the field?
and no, it doesn't help the flavor. nor does it prevent it from going out. sounds like some shit your dad told you while he was smoking a bradley, pretending he knew about shit lol
my homemade Mead
Pall Mall reds
Bulgarian AK 74
Getting rid of the ash does indeed affect the flavor. Pulling air through a 2 inch + long log of burnt ash affects the taste of it, if you care about the taste of a cigar.
Not to mention if you ever smoke a cigar somewhere other than a field, it's not great to just drop ash wherever it decides to fall.
fireball and apple cider
fronto leaves for my blunts
cigars aren't straws dummy.
if that were the case, you'd be ashing the thing every damn time. also, the last place you want to drop a giant piece of ash is in a field.
a giant hunk of burnt ash covering the hole through which i'm pulling air doesn't do a thing
Don't worry, you'll learn more when you spend more time with it. but nah, since a moderate amount of ash helps insulate the burn, allowing it to burn cooler, more even, and giving a better taste.
Too much ash affects the taste, and falls off haphazardly, which is not as good.
Moderation, as with all things.
Recently quit cigarettes but could be persuaded to enjoy a good cigar
Ash affects the taste
But a little bit of ash is good and affects the taste?
The only valid argument you've had and I think the real problem you have with it, is the ash dropping. It's a cuban cigar dude, they have competitions over there to see who has the longest ash. It's a pretty good taste with longer ash, trust me, you should buy a cuban and try it some time.
ignoring "too much"
not understanding how temperature affects your ability to taste, which is affected by insulation of ash
not understanding how different aspects of one thing are important
Ill make it simple. Ash affects taste. Either by the actual ash itself (negatively) or by helping insulate the burn (positively)
I've got a whole humidor of Cubans my guy. And I try to keep a moderate amount of ash during the whole smoke because im smoking for taste, not for a competition.
If you dont think ash affects taste, take a cashed cigar, leave it for a bit, come back, and take a big whiff 2 inches from it.
But yeah, I'm sure the one cigar daddy gave you for your birthday last year told you all you needed to know.
Tijuana sweet heat
Recently got into cigars, but no expert
Bullpup fag. Please help
woah, you got a humidor full of cubans!? Can we see? Now I trust your expertise on cigars. But seriously, they don't affect the taste whatsoever. The only thing ash does, whether it's long or short, is keep the cigar from burning too fast. The only thing that's going to get a cigar to heat up, and actually affect the taste, is hitting it too quickly. That's about it, there is no connection between taste and ash.
