Depends what you think of as “organized”. There’s not likely to be another Manassas, Shiloh, or Gettysburg. And frankly, a siege of a big city would be over pretty quickly. Read Harrison Salisbury’s “The 900 Days” to see what a modern urban siege is like. There’s literally no way that some purple-haired SJW is going to go through that for more than a couple of weeks before giving in.

Given the fact that the USN's job during a civil war will, just like the last time, preventing the incursion of foreign aid/influence to the opposition side, Russia's fairly poor Pacific forces have no means of reliably reaching Alaska. Canada could potentially be voluntarily given administrative control if things somehow go extremely bad for the US government and the already limited resources to police the territory need to be directed elsewhere, but that's probably not going to happen.

Perhaps more than half of Texas crude production is centered on the Permian, which is well west of the dry line. Texas will absolutely become a center of conflict, as it produces more oil than the next nine states combined. California has become a hub for tech and research only because markets are open and the weather is nice (no, really). In any boogaloo scenario water and energy conduits crossing over mountains and deserts are easily sabotaged, leaving the coastal megalopolises without resources. Production stagnates because California's main exports are creative enterprises. If access to the rest of the intellectual capital of the US were cut off, California would shift back to an agricultural and manufacturing hub, better connected with Asia than with the rest of the US. Really - what else do they have? Just keep churning out live-action remakes of 90s animated features until they run out of them and have to start remaking the remakes? People are going to get tired of that pretty quick. Hollywood is completely out of creative gas, and when strip-mining comic books for ideas stops working, they’re hosed, and so is Southern California’s economy.

Fighting will be concentrated at major highway intersections and medium to large cities. The Fed will spend most of its resources to protect critical infrastructure and cities leaving the outlying areas vulnerable to the American Taliban.
