I shot one at my first nuggetfest and was not terribly impressed by the roller delay. Can't deny the peak aesthetics though.

I have an ptr9r with the 16in barrel because I'm a sucker for the hk94 version what's the best way to suppress one of these fuckers. Do I need an sd locking piece, 158 grain subsonic ammo and a suppressor? Does the rifle barrel length change anything?

I went with a different locking piece for suppressor and 147gr ammo.

Is the barrel already threaded (if not you'll be paying a couple hundred), as for your suppressor if it's properly threaded you'll need 1/2x28" adapter and 147/158 subs will work great. The barrel length will do some changes to your starting velocity, but it shouldn't matter since you're shooting subs. Also with a 16" barrel you're gonna have a fuck long gun with a suppressor.

It's the only gun I want for home/car defence

straight blowback is cheap and easy to produce, hence the many options available. roller lock guns take more work and know how to assemble. look at the whole todd bailey fiasco, thats what happens when you cut corners and have no idea what youre doing- you produce shitty guns.
you also seem to sneer at "aesthetics" yet want a straight blowback in an mp5 body just for aesthetics.
