I've done this sort of thing before. Once I trainhopped from Vegas to L.A. with a friend and I hitchhiked up to San Francisco before too. I want to do something similar now too but it's hard to find likeminded people who are really serious about it.
Any anons here wanna hitchhike across the US?
Sounds like fun but dont want to get raped
I carried a knife and pepper spray on me at all times. If you're trainhopping with a bud and other people you don't know, rule #1 is never both go to sleep at the same time.
>any anons here want to get murdered by me?
ftfy
Hitchhiking can be dangerous, sure, but if you keep your wits about you it's not that bad, especially if you're traveling with a friend.
It's a big world guys, full of things to see both good and bad. Backpacking across the country should be something that everyone does at least once before they die.
I love Vegas. Do you stay there often?
I would love to but knowing the people here they'd lure me into a forest and lynch me
how exactly do you trainhop?
>where do you get on the train?
>what do you look for in terms of an appropriate traincar, space, etc to position yourself in for the ride?
What does her shirt say?
looks like a rob zombie shirt or something
i think about backpackingthe us this year or next, maybe coast to coast, im foreigner though so, I will have limited time by my visa.
Currently living in Vegas. I usually do something like this every summer. I was going to live with this girl I know at a camp over in New York next month, but I think I fucked it up. So I think a cross-country trip would be something fun to do instead.
Did it. It was fun. I had a bicycle too. Go for it.
In Vegas the train tracks run directly behind the casinos downtown so it's pretty easy.
>jump/ cut through the fence at night
>look for a box car or open platform
>literally get on the train and wait for it start moving
ezpz
im heading from new york to salt lake city in two weeks, any recommendations of places to stop along the way

Watch "How To Hitchhike Across America" by David Choi. I literally did the first segment of his journey in reverse.
I've considered it but I'm in Phoenix and I don't want to die from fucking heat stroke if I can't get a ride
