Inner city shootings are not good fare for TV/clickbait news. They're pretty routine for one, while shootings like the one in the OP have just the right amount; frequent enough to have dedicated fanbases, infrequent enough to be special every time. And of course there's the race problem, if you cover a bunch of black violence somebody's going to call you a racist, and corporations buckle instantly under public scrutiny so they'll just avoid that. Not worth the trouble, the people who run the story know that upper management doesn't have their backs and they'll end up the sacrificial lambs to the public should the story get called racist.

The majority of the us is white, and per capita black and latino males commit mass shootings more often. That's not the same as universally malicious school shootings, however, which is the type of shootings most shown in the media. The most common mass shootings are related to gang violence, which doesn't cause as much shock as the kill 'em all school shootings. Of course, males generally are overrepresented in mass shooters, there's no denying that. However, that may be explained by higher assertiveness, testosterone, higher intensity of social isolation, and therefore needs no explanation such as 'primal male malice' or 'toxic masculinity'.

Black people have different social dynamics compared to whites and asians. Black people are less likely to deem an individual as an outcast and push them away because of some failure to meet their standards. If you're a black guy and you like anime, the black community isn't going to flat out reject you and ruthlessly mock you in every possible way socially. You might get "roasted" but it's usually playful and not necessarily a mean spirited attempt to crush your soul in hopes of getting you to commit suicide.

Whites and asians are the exact opposite. They have very rigid social expectations. You absolutely must behave a certain way and interact with others in a very specific way. If you are "different enough", the social group deems you an outcast and ruthlessly attacks you in private, in public, in social media, etc. They will attack you over and over again, making sure that you realize how worthless you are as a human being. If you're a kid, even teachers and coaches will join in. You'll get bullied and physically assaulted by the quarterback, and the teachers look the other way. It's a deep and relentless attempt to drive that person into the ground, quite literally. They want you to eventually kill yourself because your very existence is an insult to their social order.

Literally not true. The US has the most firearms of any country - 88 per 100 people but is only 28th in terms of per capita murders a year. Even within the US, states with a high number of civilian firearm ownership tend to be on the lower end of the curve in regards to murders committed.
